    Thx for the video. I love KC and I don’t mean just KC, MO but KCK, Johnson County, up North and beyond- in my mind, that’s what Kansas City is. All parts in total make it a beautiful city with a culture and pulse like no other. Love it or leave it, there’s no place like home! ❤

    I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and spent most of the years from 1949 to 1973 there. I consider it my hometown. It was interesting to see how much it has changed in the last 51 years and not always for the better. In your hour plus sojourn around town it seems you encountered a high number of bad drivers and there was sure a lot of construction going on aside from putting in the new streetcar line on Main St.
    There is an entertainment scene in part of the former downtown area, but it mostly consists of parking lots and former office buildings converted into "loft" apartments. They have an indoor arena in another part of town and wasted money building another arena in the so-called Downtown area trying to attract an N.B.A. and/or an NHL team which has yet to take place.

    8:50 you weren’t too far off from the city market Mike, would’ve been cool to check out too. They have some pretty cool local storefronts, and some really good food.

    I didn't know KC had streetcars! The only city I saw them in was San Francisco
    thanks for the upload Mike!

      They plan to eventually extend the streetcar to down to the University in town (roughly to 52th Street). They plan to hopefully have it done by 2026 for the World Cup. The progress is exciting to see.

      The streetcar tracks Mike is driving on date to a system completed in 2016. There's a vehicle on the right at 5th & Delaware which was a streetcar that ran in Kansas City until 1957. It later ran in Toronto and San Francisco before being returned to K.C.

    Advisory: at around 10:40, when you come back across the viaduct, Delaware merges back into Main Street. Dang, they are doing some serious infrastructure work in town! Good, because it's been needed for decades. Hoping you'd make a run down Main to 47th and America's first shopping center, Country Club Plaza. KCMO is a very spread-out city and there's lots to see. My parents' hometown.

      I’d say it’s more like (11:00) when he crosses 7th St that it turns into Main.

    • @713davidh42
      @713davidh42 Před 23 hodinami

      Delaware used to be a separate street further south to 9th St. but when they built the freeway (Interstates 70 and 35) the bridge over it was constructed to 7th & Main.

      Complete bs. CLEARLY you never leave or if ever have left JOCO.
      The emptiness is the after effects of covid. Most offices in town are empty or no longer needed at all.
      80-90% of the workforce is now remote.

      @@iknowdeweybrudda6564your car will get jacked in the shitty part of Kansas and in Missouri. Also Missouri has the large city and Kansas doesn’t, so it makes sense why your chances are higher in Missouri, we have the mf city. Kansas would have the same crime issues as Missouri if kcmo was in Kansas instead. Y’all Kansas boys don’t understand what comes with running a large city. Kcmo is growing fast and i guarantee Kansas lawmakers couldn’t grow a city as big as kc as fast as we can. Missouri built kc and stl into what they are today. Kansas tries to claim kcmo bc it would be the biggest city they could ever get close to having

    I’ve been to a lot of cities in Kansas City, Missouri is by far by far one of the cleanest downtowns you will ever be in there’s no homeless camps There’s not vagrant sleeping all over the sidewalks. Hardly any trash on the streets if any None of that it’s absolutely beautiful.
