Nearly forty years ago Bob Dylan seemed to have little star attitude about him and showed a dose of sensible self-doubt, no display of grandeur. Things may have changed in the intervening years, though he probably still “comments” without the conviction that this will change the world, with a shoulder shrug and some resignation. His life, his journey, his opinion. When asked about religious beliefs he points out what it meant to him, refraining from trying to influence. A man with admirable qualities, writer of poetic lyrics and singer of thought-provoking songs

@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 Ive got to agree. Tom Petty's lyrics were magic even the simple ones. When Tom and Bob got together with George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Rob Orbison and created the Traveling Wilbury's It was the greatest thing to happen to music in a long time. I just wish we got more from them.

MsTdougherty how right you are; the Michelangelo of our era!
Tom Petty is dead. Bob Dylan continues to tour & write relevant music while he dusts off his Nobel Prize. Tom Petty was a gifted artist with an even better band! Bob Dylan played Farm-Aid a few months ago. Who did he choose as his backing band ? Most of the Heartbreakers!
Let’s just say for sure- without Roy Orbison there would be no Wilbury’s. Clearly these horses have been underfed

I’m 60 and I grew up in Hibbing Minnesota, my mother said our neighbors, the Zimmermans had a son that played guitar, I think this man Dylan was him that’s what my mom said. What did he do play guitar? I remember we used to go to Mr zimmermans store it might have been a Hardware store. I saw this Dylan guy at the zimmermans house next door getting into a nice large car. Why is he called Mr Dylan I don’t understand him can you explain why he was on the news and what he does.?

There are certain rare interviews where Bob lets down the guard just a bit. This one of the few. I love it. Contrast this with the Uber-guarded 60 minutes interview he did with Ed Bradley, which revealed exactly nothing. This one, on the other hand, is great. Or I think so, anyway.

Bob's problem is that he's gotten so many awards and honors: the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Nobel Prize, the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Nashville Most Prestigious Award for Skinny Guys, that there's hardly anyone left to give him a little shit once in a while. Just to, y'know, keep him glued to the ground. So I've done that sporadically in different You Tube videos over the last few years. It's OK Bob, no need to thank me, it was my pleasure.

Dylan supposedly was "saved" in the late 70's early 80's, and he is Jewish. However, Dylan may not ever realize the God he searched for is Yahweh in scripture. He's part of Judah, the southern kingdom that will be united with the northern lost tribes at Yahshua's second coming so he was correct in saying there's a messianic kingdom coming. He may've found Jesus, but he hasn't come to know the real Messiah Yahshua and his heritage as part of the Jews that will unite with Israel. But when Yahshua returns, he will know a whole lot more at his resurrection if he doesn't return in his lifetime. The two sticks will be reunited Bob. And Judah will say "blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh". Things will be much clear at that time. Was so happy to get to see you in concert in 2007 twice that year. Been a fan ever since the late 60's.

One thing that really vexes me about this otherwise excellent interview is the mystery of Bob's jacket. If you watch the full version he's wearing a dark jacket as they walk up the hill, but Bob is jacketless during the interview and in one of the outtakes the wind is blowing and Bob looks cold, so Bob Brown generously offers to lend him his jacket (which Bobby D. declines). What happened to his jacket? I realize this is a small issue in the grand scheme of life, but the incongruity troubles me. 🤔
