      Honestly I watch these and sometimes think wait a minute maybe I should pause this or leave this video from for another time because maybe one day I will see this and I don't want it to be spoiled for me. But what do I know it's still fun to watch and I probably won't be able to visit every location or even any and even if I do the little details won't be memorable

    It looks absolutely beautiful. I think Bob Iger nailed it on the head when he said this, “authentically Disney, distinctly Chinese.” I watched the documentary where they were building the park and they really did tap into the ancient Chinese culture for the design aesthetics and the attractions. I love how much attention goes into every single one of their parks and they don’t miss a detail

    I visited the park on September 7, 8 and 9 (2016) and it was just amazing. Everything there is just huge: rides, streets, parade floats, the castle (which houses a fairytale walk through, so it couldn't be much smaller). There is free drinking water at every toilet group, lots of places to sit and relax, the food is delicious, I loved every single thing about it!
    This video really is like walking through the park! Awesome job!

      This park is not worse or better . . . It's just a bit different just as you would expect to be. I actually think the patrons look cleaner and better dressed than in the American parks. If you have very been to Disney during crowded days you would love all that open room.

    so, i read the comments about the WIDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE open spaces and at first i didn't like the wide spaces but i thought about it and it makes sense. i am a frequent visitor to Disneyland here in California and on those long hot very crowded days in summer, i wish we had the wide open spaces here.the park is beautiful. it will be better once the trees are fully grown. overall, i like it. dont compare it to other Disney parks. i am different from my sister but we have the same parents.

    This park was bizarre and beautiful at the same time. Huge open walkways, lots of stairs, water and gardens everywhere. Not very crowded. Hard to tell what some of the rides were. Not jam-packed with rides. Gorgeous buildings. To me it seemed they wasted a lot of space. LOTS of places to sit (benches) which is something our parks need more of. Are they eventually going to add more rides? The castle is amazing. Our parks have a lot more rides. Glad we don't have all the stairs. Aesthetically beautiful, but like I said earlier, lots of wasted spaces filled with either water or garden type settings. Huge theme park!!! How does it compare in size to Disneyland in Calif. and The Magic Kingdom in Orlando? A lot or most of the rides seemed different than in the states.

    • @younghex9577
      @younghex9577 Před 8 lety +8

      All that space allows them to have room for more rides. They can take out a large open area and turn it into a ride. If that was done intentionally for that purpose I think it was pretty smart for the imaginengineer's. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's about the size of Disneyland and DCA combined.. maybe a little bigger..

    • @115DELDE
      @115DELDE Před 7 lety +3

      Thing is, a Disney Park doesnt need to be jam packed, its almost impossible to move in the Orlando Park. California or even Paris and Hong Kong. The good thing about having big wide open areas is that it also allows themes to not be so close (aka, not being able to see Space Mountain from tomorrow land all the way from Adventure land).
      Also, this camera use, does seem to fool are perspective, an object looks like its far away, but its not.

      Jacob Bonlender There are times when families with small children need to sit and take a break for a few minutes. Young children do get tired. Also, elderly people that visit may need to sit down every now and then. Then there are those that may have physical disabilities that need to take a break every now and then. I'm amazed you never considered any of these circumstances. BTW, your perception of Americans being lazy is totally false, just like all stereotypes

    This was great to get a great view of the park, which I've never seen. This Disneyland in Shanghai looks so much more wider and spacious than the Anaheim one, which is a big plus. But the Anaheim one seems to feel and look more magical. This one seems kind of corporate and boxy for some reason. Some are saying this park doesn't seem to have many attractions, but it is pretty new. The park opened in 2016. When Disneyland opened it didn't have that many attractions and many of them broke down on opening day. It was a nightmare.

    To all those saying its strange and not-classical disney......I think the park was intended to not compete too much with Hong Kong Disney which is modelled on the traditional disney parks.......I think the two parks COMPLEMENT each other rather well by the looks of things!

    • @aussiesorcerer791
      @aussiesorcerer791 Před 6 lety +1

      Harry Peach Eh.. sort of. The reason why the park is so different to all the other Disney parks is because of the government. Basically, they didn’t want a lot of Americanisation going on in China (which is why it was so difficult for Disney to finally persuade the government to actually build a Disney park in mainland China as Disney is considered an American icon). Because of this, they had to change the park design immensely so that it didn’t match the pre-existing parks in America and across the globe, which is why none of the “classic” attractions are at Shanghai DL (Space Mtn, Big Thunder Mtn, Splash Mtn etc). I know POTC is there, and whilst it’s considered a classic, it was put in because of the popularity of it’s movies within China (Hence why there’s a whole land dedicated to it).

      I know right?
      China is the biggest country IN THE WORLD! So you'd think that Disney would've made the park extra big to manage the tourist, but they didn't. Disneyland in Cali houses 85,000 people, Walt Disney World houses 100,000 people, and Shanghai Disneyland only houses 35,000 people. This is the smallest Disney Park and It's already having massive traffic jams and crowds. (Worse than Disneyland). Disney should've really thought this out ahead of time!

      ........this park is the largest Disneyland style park in the world and can accommodate more people at one time than both the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park in California.....probably should do more research.

      So you’re just going to ignore the fact that this park alone costed $3.5+ billion dollars? You know there is such thing as expansion... which is evident with their new ‘Toy Story Land’ that they just opened a few days ago. I personally think the park is great... yes, it’s very spread out but it has to be... have you seen the crowds? Not to mention that Shanghai alone has a VERY high population (Something that Disney knew the park would have to accomodate for). I know it has limited rides, but you have to admit, the rides they do have are AMAZING (I mean look at Pirates and TRON). I think Shanghai DL is a prime example of “Quality over quantity” in my opinion, and for that I believe it still offers an awesome experience.

    I'm sad that when we went, the Challenge Trailes were closed. Whomp whomp. Anyway, one cool thing to note, if you stay on Disney property (Toy Story Hotel or the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel), there's a second entrance that you can use to enter the park to avoid the large crowds in the main gate! Annnnnd, it's the closest entrance to get to the TRON ride! I posted a video about the park on my channel!

    This Epcot style scale just does NOT work for a Castle Park.

    • @angeloboltinimusic
      @angeloboltinimusic Před 8 lety +1

      What do you mean by Epcot style scale?

    • @strikeuptheband437
      @strikeuptheband437 Před 8 lety +49

      Epcot is known for its wide open spaces and focuses heavily on landscaping and paths weaving through hills, lawns and bodies of water. This is to highlight each of the pavilions and its purpose. Epcot is basically a representation of earth. Castle parks (i.e. Disneyland or Magic Kingdom) rely more on being tight and charming. Every corner is supposed to be pure sensory overload no matter where you look. Shanghai is a bit too open to have the charm of a castle park. Although I believe the dead space is for future plots for expansion.

    • @RiGoRmOrTiSUK
      @RiGoRmOrTiSUK Před 8 lety +21

      totally agree with this analysis, I don't think all the dead space is necessarily for future expansion, there is extra wide paths, or in the case of in front of the castle; multiple rows of paths (probably for people standing watching shows, taking photos). The reason all the places where there is foot traffic being, big, open and feeling less themed than other parks and less detailed is probably a conscious choice of the population size in China and the fact they expects huge crowds.. At least that is all I can think of.. although there are reports they had major issues with the local construction companies (which the Chinese government forced Disney to use) not completing the more detailed work properly so its possible they scaled back theming for that reason.
