    Those were all such great ideas and I imagine even easier if prepared and foiled then refrigerated or frozen ahead of camp. Thanks!

    It is a lot easier, quicker and neater if you put all the food on half the tinfoil then pull the other half over the top so the two halves meet one one side. You then roll the edges as you would if it were on top. To open you simply slit the packet down the middle and you have a easy neat serving bowl.

    My mom would always make tinfoil dinners for my first night on Scout camps. They were great and the other guys were always jealous of them since they would usually have just a can of soup.

      She would do a layer of foil, then newspaper, and then another layer of foil.

    I found you while searching for better ways to wrap and seal with tinfoil . Fellow Albertan!!😃 Still searching as I wrap mine the same way as you do. Not a problem just wishing there was a clever idea but I have found that heavy duty tinfoil is the game changer. Love the idea of parchment paper also !!! . just a friendly tip, buy some cheap welders gloves at Princess auto so the forearms don't get burnt while turning packets in the hot fire.

    Hi Keri!
    I am wanting to do a boneless chicken breast with small taters.
    How long is the cook over coals?
    30 min each side?

    👍Looks delicious!! Could you give approximate oven temperature and time for a retired camper?

    • @KeriPratt
      @KeriPratt  Pƙed 2 lety

      My go to temperature is 350F and I would suggest 20 mins. (Just make sure your meat is smaller in size, so it cooks quicker)

    I see there was dark discoloration on the parchment paper. Did that give the food a slight burnt paper flavor?

    What happens if you don’t use parchment paper in your tin foil meals?

    • @KeriPratt
      @KeriPratt  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Just spray the tin foil with pam, cooking oil, butter, or coconut oil. Just something so the food doesn’t stick to the tin foil.
