  • This is a short intro to the first year of Iron Grenadiers toys. This was meant to be part of my Destro & Despoiler review, but added too much length. The first year released Destro (& Despoiler), Iron Grenadiers (Elite Troopers), Voltar (Destro's General), D.E.M.O.N. tank (& Ferret driver) and the A.G.P. jet (& Nullifier pilot). Many of these lines were never introduced outside US esp in India. Battle force 2000 & Iron Grenadiers are a delight to watch. As a G.I.Joe fan, your videos give insights & vision to my dream collection. I remember struggling to find Destro, Duke or Scarlet action figures anywhere. The vintage ones are found at astronomical prices on the e-commerce sites. The Rise of Cobra & Retaliation movies tried to change the face of G.I.Joe but I still love the vintage ones. They are rare but worth the money.

Thank you for finally touching on battle force 2000 and Iron Grenadiers. I like yourself only collected to a certain year but I have to say that the iron grenaders finally got me into 1988 especially once I found out that the gimmick of the d.e.m.o.n. was that you could attach destro's disploiler to it. Much better executed than the BF 2000 vehicle gimmicks of the previous year. Thanks again for another great and informative video.

All these years and I never even noticed the Battle Force 2000 logo on Iron Grenadier's vehicle sets and card backs. That's why I subscribe to you Kevin. Good name by the way.

Did you know that the AGP and Nullifiers were originally planned to be apart of Cobra-La sub theme

The Demon tank was an amazingly cool design. Even the Despoiler being able to attach to itAnd yet I am just now starting to warm up to the Battleforce 2000 line. It's also weird that Destros vehicles came with their pilots while BF2K were sold separately. The AGP was one of my favorite vehicles. I would love to see Hasbro make them more faction members (like Metal Head) and perhaps a new vehicle and driver combo.

I was disappointed when scrap-iron wasn't included since he did help destroy in the marrs division of cobra. darklon was a weird one in this line

Good point! I keep forgetting Scrap-Iron was employed by Destro. I need to remember this when I do my second Iron Grenadiers theme month.

I took an existing picture off of google and modified it. This one has a symmetrical handle (above the word) that the official one doesn't. If you google "Iron Grenadier logo" you can swipe my thumbnail!
