    У нас он назывался УТИ МИГ 15( Учебно-тренировочный истребитель), использовался как разведчик погоды.Давно это было в 70е годы, обслуживал, в учебке из кабины тренажёр был, все приборы помню до сих пор. Эх, молодость...Где же ты.

      Тренажёр МиГ-15 был в середине 80-х в Московском Дворце пионеров. Для детей. Я на нём "летал". Ещё были МиГ-17 и МиГ-19. Мой первый опыт был. Особенно МиГ-17 мне нравился.
      СССР для детей много делал.

    I remember seeing this exact bird fly over Southsea Airshow (Liverpool) three or four years ago, when Vulcan XH558 was doing it's final season of airshows. It was awesome seeing a Mig in the sky :)

    Just had the luck to be able to fly in one of these in Hradec Kralove yesterday (in the passenger seat), but I also was able to try the stick. Its a beauty to fly, and I am sold for the rest of my life. Love it!

    LiM-2 is a MiG-15 UTI version produced in Poland in 60s, on Russian licence, hence "LiM - Licencyjny Myśliwiec" - Licence Fighter in polish.

    I have a friend who lives in this area, and since I'm all the way in the states, the closest I'm getting to see her is flying over the fjords in Xplane. In fact I *think* I know whereabouts that runway is...
    This reminds me of doing that, but about 1,000 times more awesome for being an actual jet.

    What an amazing video. To think that this thing was state of the art in the 50s or so... well, obviously some things don't change, swept wing transsonic flying is still just that. :) I'm a humble night-rated private pilot and I remember how the 135 or so knots IAS of a Piper Arrow felt way way too fast for me when I first flew it and I just couldn't seem to keep ahead of the plane... and this thing cruises at 500 KIAS or something?

      Nothing to be worried about, the area flown is well known and the pilot is a local so he is well familiar with the region. And also if you have a standard map with abit of preplan you could easy fly the same route .
      if you find Rygge Airport on google maps you can also follow the route flown :)

      Look around all instrumental dashboard - it is whole renewed! All stickers in english, all heights in feets, speeds in knots, GPS, VOR/DME..... It is modern airplane in oldschool shell/

    the "sense" of the pitch indication on the attitude indicator is logically inverted from typcial western aircraft. The instrument is essentially fixed in inertial space and the aircraft (and cockpit view) can be thought of "rotating" around it in pitch and roll. When climbing or descending with pitch/attitude changes, the "ball" appears to move backwards from what you will find in US aircraft.

      To me too. When I mentioned it. I was told it was because the Mig-15 flew in the stratosphere where the sky is black and earth is blue!! LOL! the service ceiling for a single seat mig-15 is 58K ft....and I can assure you having been there many times. The sky is not black at those altitudes!

    In Mozambique, during the late’80’s there were mig fighters and they usually flew around from the airport to the beach and then back again. One day the migs didn’t make it back and crashed into the river. The tail fins stuck out at low water . The pilots were Cuban.
    I have my very own thoughts on why they went down.

      nope, the canopy is hinged on the right hand side so that would get caught by the airflow and ripped off the hinges

    Самая лучшая работа на планете.Даже лучше,чем космонавтом.Космонавтом нужно тусоваться в капсуле долгое время и риски выше помереть от чп.На самолёте взлетел,полетал,приземлся,поехал домой..Лишь только бы тех состояние не подвело и чел. фактор.На крайняк можно катапультироваться.В космосе не катапультируешься.И главное не учавствовать в боевых действиях,это уже выживание,а не работа

    Ponder this if you will: The last MiG15 was built about 65 years ago, so that is at least as old as this jet is. And it is very obviously still in flying condition, and in good flying condition too.
    I kinda doubt that you will somehow make an F-35 take off around 2080. Hell, I'd be surprised if you find spares in the 2050s.
    Russian technology was built to last.

    Note the stripe painted down the middle of the instrument panel. The purpose is to assist the pilot in spin recovery. If ailerons are not perfectly neutral, it won't.
