    Their demo was like 89. In 1991-92? they released the demo of this song. They were most of the DEATH lineup in 1991 for the HUMAN album. Amazing group of guys.

    The bassist was in OSI and Gordian Knot, which you did for me before 🙂 and Sean Reinhart was in Gordian Knot as well.

      @@JohnG_YT great musicians flock together 😄 Gordian Knot is a band I'd love to see you react to again.

      The bassist in this video is Robin Zielhorst, not Sean Malone.
      But initially, of course, Malone participated in the recording of the album in 1993 (as well as in the recording of all other albums). Sean Malone is also involved in a project by John Wesley (ex-Porcupine Tree).

      @@alexeymaslov5912 yes sir...but this is malone's writing contribution all the way, and honestly this is the style Malone helped (along with tony choy of atheist) pioneer (and he used a chapman stick).
      What is it abt. this band that attracts tragedy?

    Some of the guitar play had some influences of Tom Morello of RATM, especially in that early part of the song...yes, John, I am way older that VCR tapes...I remember 8-track music tapes! (Old as fucking dirt, I am!! hahaha) Loved the reaction, kamo!

      Comparing Tom Morello to CYNIC is more or less like comparing goat cheese and vodka...

      Jajajaja yo no diría eso tendrías que escuchar Allan holdsworth esa si es una comparación exacta que Paul solo tomó como idea. En sus solos alienigenas...

      Damn, and here I was thinking they were inspired by jazz and hinduism but apparently it was RATM/Communism all long 😆😆

    If you like this check out GORDIAN KNOT, which is basically CYNIC + John Myung from DREAM THEATER. Start with 'Reflections'.
    Cheers!

      I actually did a Gordian Knot song before! Somthing with Rivers,but not sure how the title was. It was really good tho! (And i used a wrong band for the thumbnail :D )

    • @Wedigar
      @Wedigar Před 4 lety

      It was Rivers Dancing. Reflections is great though. So is the original version, from At War With Self.

    I never realized how influential they were to Obscura . It's almost a rip off if it wasn't for the prog element they would sound exactly the same... wow that is cool but disappointing . Shame on you Obscura 😕.
