- Welcome back to Fly Shop Tour
Season 2 took place In October of 2023, we set across the Southeast on a 2000 Mile Road Trip, visiting & fishing with local Fly Shops. Our Mission? To highlight small businesses that drive the sport we love: Fly Fishing! Along the way, we got a chance to host meetups in every state - all with the goal to raise money for local conservation organizations & meet some of our fans.
This episode we make our way through Georgia, where we stop in Helen, Alpharetta and Atlanta!!

Fished for over 50 years, half of it in Georgia. Georgia is a gem. The people of Atlanta need to remember how important the Hooch is to the state. Keep the trout fishing alive and well.
What a great time showcasing my home waters.
Same
Unicoi Outfitters is such a great shop. Those dude's are a class act. Awesome video!
Couldn't agree more!
Great to see our fly fishing community, and all the great initiatives it supports, featured here. If you care about fly fishing in this area and you have an idea that you want to find help executing, talk it up at any of the shops. They’ll point you to the local folks who can help. If you just want to volunteer to do good stuff for great people, the same holds true. See you out there!
Well said! It is a great community and those shops are the hub.
I really enjoy these videos. There's just something cool about going into a fly shop that you've never been to. Thanks for sharing the adventure and taking us along.
Go Jackets baby! Love the shoutout y’all gave!
FINALLY - Took y'all long enough! Been waiting all day!
Now you just need a part 2. Should really check out the fishing community up in the Blue Ridge. And also don’t forget Ga has some good saltwater fishing and shops down on the coast.
Alpharetta Outfitters is one of my favorite shops. Every time I go to Atlanta, I have to go there. Great place to just hang out with good people. Jeff Wright is one of the nicest people you can meet.
I’m surprised yall didn’t swing up to the Chatooga. Great split showing a SC fishery going to GA. Caught a lot of fish there
Love this series
pub subs always hit
Gotta hit the Fish Hawk next time your in the A!
We hosted an event there and fished with Gabe!!!!
Another fantastic chapter of this awesome series
Glad you enjoy it!
This is so random but when the wash your sh*t segment was going on I was in the background picking up a U-Haul for my company followed you guys now I’m a fan!😂
Mark from TU has some serious style
Be like Mark
You don’t have those in Colorado do you? Made me LOL.
Great series both of those shops are excellent. I live in North Georgia and the biggest issue is finding public trout access.
Great production quality of these videos, hats off to cameramen and editors, makes it a very enjoyable watch! Looking forward to the next! Any steelhead spey? Viewing from Ireland
My home water ❤
Your backpack is missing the bunny ears 😂
Just moved to Cumming and live off Buford dam road and trying to get into trout fishing. I won’t giveaway the specific park, but the “park” you put in at is 5 minutes from my house. Im getting a fin drive yak to fish Lanier and just got some waders. Been wanting to wade there and at the bridge.
Go stop into the local shops! They will get you dialed
I’m from Georgia but I always end up trout fishing in Tennessee or North Carolina, I don’t really know any good places to trout fish in Georgia besides one small wild stream. I tried the Toccoa but it’s like 99 percent private. Been fly fishing a couple years now.
We are definitely somewhat limited in our trout waters, but we have plenty of them if you are willing to look. Grab a DNR trout stream map and put some boots on the ground. Otherwise don't overlook warm water as well... it's better anyway 😅
Lmao stockers
The Ruby Midge with embroidery thread for the rib is an Arkansas pattern by David Knowles designed for the White River system.
Yep, Dave Knowles is a long time friend and fly tier for our shop here. Fantastic guy and ties some amazing fish catching patterns.
He passed away recently. Have you tried his Root Beer Midge on your waters? It’s a killer on the White and Norfork Rivers. Same as the Ruby but brown tinsel and rib with a copper bead.
@@gregoneal1 Yeah, we actually fish the root beer more than the ruby, but both are wildly effective. I knew he was in bad health, I'm sorry to hear that.
Home state! Love this
They don’t have those in Colorado! 😂😂
God, those North Georgia Pellet goblins are U-G-L-Y. Good to see you boys got after the real natives😂
Every Fish is a Treasure! But 100% - those Hooche Browns are Epic!
