--------------------
Jermaine Dupri spoke to VladTV about Eminem and Dr. Dre dissing him on "Say What You Say." Jermaine said that it started over him boasting that he was the most talented producer between Dr. Dre and Timbaland, adding that he still thinks he could pen a song on his own in a room with two producers.
Jermaine added that he's glad Eminem dissed him about working with younger artists back then because it shows he was ahead of the curve now. To hear more, including how Bryson Tiller and Russ used his lyrics in their songs, hit the above clip. - Zábava
shout to all the old fuckers like me who used to love reading all the credits inside album covers.....it was magical, there's no sense of occasion anymore it was an event going to an actual store and buying a vinyl or cd and getting home listening while reading the lyrics and special thanks/credits ect.....mega times
80s decade had it all....listening to an album for 6 months and knowing it 100%, studying it all.....
thats ALL i did homie....as SOON as an album came out, i was reading the credits!!
ripping the plastic off and listening to some classic tracks
mastdark81 but that plastic was hard as hell to get off lol
How TF are you a fan and you don't have a PHYSICAL copy of ur artist's shit??? I'll never understand these fake ass, shit talking kids bruh
He looks like that dude at work that’s trying to go home, but the boss keeps talking to him lol

"Over 80 million records sold and I didn't have to do it with 10 or 11 year olds"
Dr. Dre
What about beating women?? Did he have something to do with that?
You right, he did it with promoting negative stereotypes of Afican Americans.
Christina coles what does Dre beating up a girl 30 years ago have to do with the number of records he sold?
@@ayana188 and JD molested Chris Cross which is why Chris Kelly bounced from the rap game. Stressed him something awful before he died.

@MegaMecoso It's not a purse it's a man bag

IT'S A MANBAG FA SHO
He's from Atlanta, the gayest city on the east coast.
He writes the songs the whole world sings confessions, emancipation of Mimi. JD is my Berry Gordy Purdue's ,make beats, rap. Also can developer artist from ground up. Underrated.
Jermaine Dupri was talking shit back then; saying he was better than Dr. Dre and Timbaland. That's why Dre got at him.
After Xzibit destroyed his ass he needs to wear a pair of heels and wig with that man purse he rock in...😂
But jermaine is better than Dre and timbaland...those guys are strictly hip hop...jermaine catelog is way more diverse and he got way more hits...and he’s a way better song writer...those guys are pretty much strictly hip hop
@@MrSPIDEY21 Dre and Timbaland did music outside of Hip Hop too.

That’s why he is in the songwriters hall of fame. He writes rap lyrics and actual songs.
No goat
Say what you say by Em and Dre is a classic.
Don't care for Eminem.
@@LarryBonson then you don’t care for HipHop
Timbo always dissed him at the end of that song.
In The Source, he said he was a better producer than Dre, Timbaland, etc. He also said that he loved them, but it is what it is.
FrankWonderBeantown he way better songwriter not producer doe
guwapDCFINEST Yeah, Timbo is way better than JD.
Yeah i still have that Source issue, he was comparing himself to Dre because of Dre's r&b background, how he was strong in that genre and Dre wasn't.
And on 106 and park
My thing is why get mad about somebody saying they better. You are supposed to think you the best. Lol....kids will be kids though.
"'Cause what you say is what you say

I didn't get notified about your comment and I'm just seeing it right now. CZcams be glitching at times
But what about Jermaine fuck Jermaine he don't belong speaking mine nor timbaland name
All the best rappers right now are in their 30's or 40's.
Lol who really making noise past one song that’s under 25 huh these niggas clowns
40+ and up
no doubt
not to mention some amazing rappers back in the 90s were very young. Mobb Deep for example.

Jermaine Dupri is an underrated musical legend
Facts definitely a icon in this game
Yeah we can jank on him but that dude has a real talent
Yeah he is. After learning he wrote all those songs I'm starting to think he might be a genius.
Sinuramous How did it feel?
He's not underrated. Underappreciated is a much better term
JD brought Mariah Carey out of limbo. Ppl forget that
And Eminem fucked her too.
Usher too
He should've left her there
He saved usher’s career too.
Dre's mixes have aged so well. Gosh his mixes are amazing!

I still listen to Life in 1472 to this day.
I agree w/ JD. Confessions was the biggest album of the 2000’s. It didn’t take 7yrs to write and produce.
The Eminem Show is the biggest album of the 2000s.
How many of y’all first remember seeing him as a kid poppin and lockin in “The Freaks Come Out at Night”? I’m old, so I do!!
True definition of a record producer also includes writing a song, shaping its message, arranging its composition, and coaching an artist as well when it comes to how to record... Beat Makers are diff than producers
ochaze1 False a producer don’t have to write lyrics
Dr. Dre, Kanye, JD, Timbaland, Neptunes, Swizz Beatz all do this.
Em n dre say what you say went hard asf b
One of the best tracks on eminem show
Timberlands part at the end😂😂🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Killed that boy
@Nik 117 never heard as much of JD since have we? And cant forget about my name by xzibit and Eminem, they had the last word with that song
@Nik 117 all those accomplishments was from over 10 years ago lmao I dont care about all that, and trust me I follow hip hop, good hip hop, not r&b either which is pretty much all he did, and all that what you listed is "from before" lol
He not lying tho lol. Take Dre 8 years to drop 1 song.
But when he drops, it creates waves so I'd say they're worth the wait
Dre's worst song is still better than JD's best work. Who can come faster with a beat doesn't mean shit.
NoNameforNow yea 25 years ago. Nobody cared about tht Compton album.
I'd wait 8yrs for 1 Dre song, than hear this guy every week.

Heck yes!!! I’m here after listening to that again.
@Alama Austin It’s a freestyle. Look it up…

Talent is talent. When the music is good, that’s all that matters. Don’t care who is performing or producing it, as long as it makes the masses move.
Similar to DJ Quik with his production, Jermaine Dupri took it further by also writing lyrics, this dude is multi talented, really admire him for all the work he put into the music industry.
I can't see how people sleep on JD, it would be times when a good portion of the top 10-25 songs in the country would be Jermaine Dupri productions.
Of course I like Dre better but let’s not hate & ignore JD’s resume.
Dre dnt write or produce how he so great
Terrence PERKINS Dre is the greatest producer ever
@@jazzcritic3587 No he's not all that shit is Parliament and the Funkadelics
Sean combs is the greatest producer ever clearly.
JD was Hip Hop n R&B. Dre did little changes from a Warren G, Daz, Quik beat. I'll rather work with JD. I think Snoop should always roll wit Dre

IF YOU SEE THIS, HOLLA AT CANIBUS BRO!! THE CULTURE NEEDS THIS!! LET THAT MAN TELL HIS STORY!! RESPECK FROM SOUF TEXAS!!
Tell what story? About how when he wants to battle rap, and bring out his written rhymes. And tell the crowd to stfu, because he want to spit his "written raps". Gtfo.
I meeeeeaaaannnnn, I love Canibus and all.... but need? It would be nice, but need? LOL
Stop it
Tony Jabroni i agree with you completely!
That story has been told already. Em was a hating ass pussy who started some shit as usual but was afraid to step to him. Canibus murdered Em already. Thats old news fam. Let that shit rest
If you click on the 3 dots next to any track on Spotify, it has who wrote it and produced it under the song credits tab.
When it comes to producing JD's good, very good but Dre and Timbaland are better. When it comes to writing JD is untouchable. Especially when it comes to R&B.
U are out of ur dome son! This nigga is a bomb hit!Johnny jay made all death row for Pac nigga!
Seeing Jermaine Dupri with Janet Jackson is like finding out about a sale a day to late. -Chris Rock
At least he can make a beat on his own. Timbo and Dre were both having Scott Storch ghost produce beats.
Bryan Michael Cox works with him alot he's not doing it all himself
@@theo12488 JD was making hits before BMC joined him
@@sbrooks729JD had Manuel Seal too.
Talented brother, inspires me to produce, and write a hit ...
He never felt respected like Dre because Dre came from NWA and he introduced the world to Snoop Dogg and Eminem. JD gave us Kris Kross and Lil Bow Wow. People took Dr. Dre more serious. JD was a little jealous in those days because of that
You don't know what you are talking about smfh. He helped put on ppl like TLC, Usher, XSCAPE, Mariah Carey, Jagged Edge, Da Brat, and a whole buncha other ppl to the game. Wtf are you speaking of jealousy for??? Not everyone is weak minded like you ok itty bitty White kid?? No one takes YOU serious because you don't know shit lol
Why you typing all those names??? I just said what people tend to look at in the rap game. Mimi TLC Xscape J/E are not rappers. Kris Kross Lil Bow Wow & Da Brat{teen} is what he's known for
So what if they ain't rappers. They were a HUGE part of Hip Hop and it was JD who helped skyrocket them. ALL of those artists are platinum plus. Everything JD touched went platinum. Now why would you say something so dumb as "he only brought us Kriss Kross and Bow Wow"??? That was a stupid and terrible comment. He's known for ALL them. JD was the King of ATL genius. You have no clue on what U talking about do you lol?????? It clearly shows
I like JD, he's a cool producer but I can't imagine him doing a All Eyes on Me like Dre did. JD ain't worth $$$ like Dre. JD also lost everything and filed for chapter 7. He lost a lot including Janet
@@xxWizDumbxx he also helped lil jon a bit too
JD is right about being able to do a WHOLE SONG by his damn self. Dre can't and never has.
However Eminem can. People sleep on his skills as a beat maker and producer
@@FarajiCouncil Eminem's an average producer though... often closely associated with Jeff Bass or someone else on the boards as well. Eminem is no DJ Quik...
Eminem production skills are sub par
That is a Fact
@sperrotta91 speaking of Quick, it looks like he may be trying to leak out that he had produced a lot of music that Dr. Dre had taken credit for.
What was Xzibit's beef with JD, i'm sure i knew back then but forgot.
I think it was his loyalty to Dr. Dre. Not sure tho
he was right then he was right now dre takes years on one song
"He don't belong speakin' mine or Timbalands name"
That beef started when Jermaine Dupri said why isn't he mentioned with Dre and Timberland. Snoop got at Dre, Eminem, and Xzibit for dissing Jermaine Dupri he said y'all didn't diss Suge when he dissed all of you so don't diss Jermaine
COMBkO 76st LLOEC 1 lol dawg from snoop to em they all had deeper altercations with suge
wow really, thats dope! and courageous of snoop dang
Snoop dissed Suge but the rest of them copped out lol especially xzibit
Suge called Em out a few times. After that racist song came out Suge said he need to talk to that white boy. Suge also called 50 a snitch and 50 didn't say anything back.
@@monsterbrandman 50 didn't diss Kurupt bacc either I dissed Game but he don't play with other Cali niggas 50 get on some street shit he heard Suge was outside asking about him he went out Suge was gone
I believe he said he was the best producer period and that’s why Dre and Timbaland had a problem. Is always been teenagers in hip hop, LL, Kane, Rakim, KRS, G Rap etc were all teenagers when came out
Something about his murse and him being almost the same size is keeping me from being able to focus on what he's saying 🤔
JD looking like one of the stylists from Real Housewives of Atlanta in these interviews what that 👜 on too
Quality over quantity...that's the difference between he and them
Jermaine dupri a straight up legend so is dre and so is eminem
Em killed Cannibus and Dupri in the “Cannibitch” track. Murdered them!! 🤙🤙
Djvlad should of interviewed toker from brownside before he passed he was in the mix with ruthless and deathrow beef at the time
J.D. is a legend, give him his props
JD is a hell of a writer! His attitude just sucked...
His answer is on POINT. Its always YOU!!!
What was the song ?....anybody?
Jermaine Propane
Couldn't have fell off that hard, ain't no way.
I never knew Jermain Dupri written songs I just thought he was a producer.🤦♂️
Ya know this is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
JD a legend. It's a shame he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Lol, JD signing 13-14 year olds is not the same as rappers being 18-20 right now. Having kid rappers back then did not mean JD was ahead of the game. You had Illegal, Da Youngstas, etc back then too
You obviously aint watch the full interveiw. Make sense my man
Gregory Holmes he did and he’s right. And the artists who sold the majority of his records were 10-12. He tried to change the narrative to 21. Hip hop started with the youth there was never an issue with kids
Thank you
Quo😂😂
Illegal and Youngstas wasn't on so so def
I was one of those people that didn't know nothing because I was on Dre side being from Cali then I found out Dre didn't do all the beats on death row and that was alot of Daz now I know more and give JD his respect !!!!
Daz is the reason why Snoop’s 2nd album flopped.
@@takeover5478 I think that’s his most slept on album lyrically he killed that one but Tupac overshadowed anything on death row at that time

Always had Big respect for JD and what he did....and what he's doing
He makes what he said sound so benign, but actually he said he would “crush” both Dre and Timbaland. What did he expect?
That 1st Chronic album was done by Das and Kurupt... Dre just added his executive producer shit to it. You got to give it to Dupri... he produced his own shit. No help needed from loads of different minds
Lol that’s a lie. And you must not know who Bryan Michael Cox, Johnta Austin and Manuel Seal are.
I used to love reading the liner notes
Jermaine Dupree is so chill.
Yeah look at hip-hop 🙄 .... thanks jemaine

Anyone can create a beat like Jermaine Dupri. Producers make classics like Dre. When was the last time u heard someone bump bow wow?

Jermaine Dupri most definitely has his name in history, from biggie to Kris Kross to the brat , Mariah Carey and the list goes on!!!!! , classic
Since 1994 Atlanta has slowly took over the urban music industry, becoming the motown of the south, then the mecca of music on a national level. JD has done alot more then alot of folks will ever admit too. Aint nobody moving to LA cause of Dre's musical influence.
JD is that dude. He wrote not just for Usher, but all his past groups, Mariah Carey. Dude is a hit factory, and top of that he produces as well. JD is a musical legend that deserves way my credit than what he gets.
No disrespect, but I don't know what happened between JD and Jkwon. I spoke on JD and what I thought were his accomplishments. That's not emotional that's what I believe to be true.
The problem with blowing up at 18, you don't have a lot of life experiences so your content most likely will be trash and superficial, also your buz will die out quicker. Jay came on at 26, Nelly 26, 50 26, Eminem 26, etc
Owesome Music depends on your popularity and the new generation if you make a big mark in the music world like em and Jay you can last a long time
