Oda also specifically tells us in the manga that magma coming from underwater fissures and volcanoes forms new islands and land masses. Who is in possession of the magma fruit? The World Government. They could have used Akainus fruit back then to create the red line and artificial land masses that seperates the world into pieces.
And magma didnt engulf fishmans island because they made a huge bubble around them, and left the passage when the magma solidified

The number of times Foxy has been mentioned as part of a legit theory has me in awe. If it was planned that far back that the most filler of actual cannon manga is what brings the entire Void century into context is kinda equal parts hilarious and awesome.
Oda didn't decide back then that the story would be thing long, so might have been closer to end filler arc back then.

@@OdenKeiz It's not filler though. That whole arc is canon to the story. Almost, if not every canon arc ties to the overall story no matter how good or boring it is. Plus, Long Ring Long Land is much much better in the manga. Anime just dragged the heck out of the arc.
This might also explain why the world government fears Shanks and also Roger in the past. Both Shanks and Rogers crew were pure haki users that does not rely on devil fruit powers. There was also this theory that Shanks also has knowledge on how the underwater sea travel works as well. Therefore, if a flood did happen, eliminating Shanks would be very difficult because they have no devil fruit users and all rely on just pure strength and haki.
That is why Shanks never ate the gomu gomu no mi fruit but needed luffy to eat it
or a real plot twist: since Shanks is was able to get into the meeting and his father is a celestial dragon: he purposely created a crew with no devil fruit users because he knew the flood was coming and he is a CD and is planning on the flood.

Wait so important detail missing here that could add to the theory- the sunlight tree eve. It goes all the way up past the red line, assumedly through Mariejois. It might even be in Imu’s garden room full of light.
If Imu’s powers are light based, and devil fruits are light based, perhaps Imu is utilizing (or even created) the sunlight tree eve to absorb massive quantities of light. Maybe the devil fruits originally even grew on that tree!

I love the idea that the 20 kingdoms send a flood of seawater to disable / eliminate all fruit users. Maybe it were even the 20 kingdoms who distributed the fruits among their enemies for that specific purpose. Flooding to kill all the devil fruit users begs the question if certain devil fruits contain an even *greater* evil. I’ve been thinking it’s possible Blackbeard’s fruits end up being 3 pieces of the original devil of the sea and putting all 3 together ends up awakening them and gives Blackbeard a sea devil Zoan transformation, which would slot in nicely as the final villain; because let’s be honest blackbeard has to end up being the big bad final boss

What if Boa's devil fruit froze everyone in stone and then puddings fruits was used to change the memories of everyone left alive after they had gotten rid of any enemies besides those strong enough to ignore the devil fruits effects.
Kinda like how Doflamingo has done in dressrosa where everyone forgets even their loved ones because they were turned to dolls. Something similar could have happened in the void century where the people from the past are still alive but now they were transformed into something else.
Also, when Boa uses her fruit they have no memory of what happens while they're petrified.

I'm more on the idea of the flood being caused by a Rain devil fruit. As of now, we have no explanation why devil fruits are 'hated by the sea' - it is something so fundamental since the first chapter that it must be something ODA can't reveal yet. Flooding the world with a Rain Fruit that is cappable of weakening other devil fruits.
Maybe, the water fruit was the first one. The original devil fruit. And from it other fruits started to grow across the world. In Japanese mythology Japan was formed when the gods pulled a sword out of the sea and the drops that fell from it formed the world. Maybe that fruit is the source of them all and like drops they all originated from it somehow.

This connects to my Uranus theory… Oda has so far based many arcs off of Hindu stories. For example the story of kaido and Yamato is directly connected to the 4th incarnation of Vishnu the protector who turns himself into a half man half beast to slay the invincible demon king in his palace strong hold with the help of the demon king son who was enslaved by his father for being a fan boy of his fathers enemy “Vishnu” (who later comes as Rama in the tale with hanuman) In Hinduism the gods have space ships, lasers and world ending weapons that rain down thousands of fiery arrows of light. There is a story of sanjna related to the spiral disc weapon that is called the wheel of time because it controls the movements of the stars and planets in the heavens. So Sanjna was married to the sun god surya but his fire was too hot for her to bear … so her father the god of science and engineering vishwakarma reduced the suns heat so he would be more bearable but with the leftover energy crafted 3 weapons for the gods 1) a ship, 2)a trident , and 3) the spiral disc wheel of time. So sanjna is directly related to this spiral disc that controls time and when combined with odas mentions of sanjis eyebrows connected to the movements of planets and all the spiral themes with devil fruits and the ancient weapons correlating to Hindu mythology even Zoro turning into asura and mentioning the 36,74,108 transformations of past present and future which is a direct reference to the three blades of shiva(god of destruction) trishula. One of shivas blades is white (wadi ichimonji) one is red (nidai kitestu), and one is black(shusui then enma). Also these three blades correlate to the trimurti which is 3 trio of gods… one named Brahma is a creator who is associated with the past and has no weapons and is a known as a womanizer, the second is Vishnu the protector and the present who gets reborn over and over to save the people and liberate them with his white aura and fire pistol arrows… Vishnu is a smiling warrior who smiles as he fights, and shiva the destroyer who clears all of his obstacles for the new era to begin shiva who is associated with the bull and wild beasts he is always sleeping and meditates until he gets pissed and third eye opens and he can melt anyone even the gods with his sight. Together these gods are called the god trio and create preserve and destroy bringing Balamce to the universe… so these three are connected to energy and personality as well the white satva energy is in the present moment and gets pure joy from existing(luffy/vishnu), the black tamas energy is slow and makes you lost or confused and low energy and obsessed about the past(zoro/shiva), and the red is Rajas passion vigor focused on sensory experience and obsessed with how the future will turn out(sanji/Brahma)… LOL I actually have a long theory connecting all of this really well but I keep ranting incoherent pieces of it on social media 😂

It might be that I'm only a relatively recent OP fan, but after I caught up and watched most of what I could find on YT a lot of channels with great theories and attempts to piece the puzzles of OP together have been appearing and picking up steam here. A very welcome addition, and the range of theories, ideas, speculations, and connections are amazing! Adding to the channels that have been going strong for multiple years, we are experiencing an embarrassment of riches as fans, not to mention the absolute fire that the series itself has been.
This video was another banger. So much to think about!
I think I have watched a theory already connecting "light" and devil fruits. Its essentially like how trees use sun light for photosynthesis. So basically, either the eve tree, or adam tree, or there might even be a tree of life that bears devil fruits based on whatever this "light" or sun god power user think of, by using his light to feed the tree. Perhaps joyboy used his fun imagination for helping people while imu used it for personal gain. Or, a wild theory by me, Imu was joyboy himself and his sungod fruit was the only fruit before, like the forbidden fruit. but ever since achieving his goal of having the whole world free, he grew bored and tried to do the opposite. which his own devil fruit rejected. thus parting ways from him since df are actually sentient but imu already absorbed half of its powers thus making him and luffy the perfect halves of the same fruit. This will make the huge strawhat on mariejois be owned by imu himself when he was still one with the gomu gomu, the perfect half of luffys hat. And just Maybe this is why imu is so eager to chase the gomu gomu fruit at the first place, to relieve his boredom by fighting whoever becomes worthy of the fruit.
The red ring eyes on gear 4th and imus red ring eyes kinda make sense if theyre halves of the same fruit?
Wouldn't stretch it to saying the the theory on the second thought after the "Or". Imu and Joyboy are two different people. Joyboy had died due to an unknown reason, and I believe Imu was behind it. The reason why that Fruit was give a different name was to hide its true name from history. Imu and the WG weren't trying to have anyone try and resurrect their sworn enemy, because once they do then it's technically game over. Which is why the WG want Nico Robin because she probably knows the other Weapon being Pluton and knows it actual whereabouts. Cause mind you that she travels everywhere and anywhere and lied to croc about the location. What's more is that Cobra said that the current ponegliph he was looking at said nothing about Arabasta's true history, but the Ponegliph Luffy Zoro and chopper found probably had that full history. Joyboy and Imu just have a huge beef with each other and the name of D just rings all the Celestial Dragon's heads.

1. If the poneglyphs are indestructible, how did they carve on them?
2. If the "sea" inside Wano's borders is rain water, why do devil fruit users get weaker/can't swim in it? Wasn't it just sea water that does that?
It's more "standing water" than specifically sea water thats the problem. They aren't weakened by waves, baths, etc. But are weakened by the sky seas and canals, and also have problems in any other body of water. As for the indestructible poneglyphs, I don't think their story is fully explained yet, and even if, I don't know that the mechanism of carving them is important enough to the current story to continue exploring.

They carve it first, after that either its df power or else they strengthen the stones. That way it could fit in logic (my logic). If they could be crushed with same material, wg would destroy them dropping one poneglyph from sky to another poneglyph below its trajectory.
Some part of my brain think that the material was a mixture of seastone (since those poneglyph cant be affected by df, yet (my idea was if morley df could bend the poneglyph like it was liquid clay)) with material they use to create black sword (yoru, shisui). They starterd crafting poneglyph with the mixture and inscribing text on it and after that somehow they strengthen it to the point it reaches/become the strongest material.
I think a 100 year gap would more easily be achieved by making writing illegal and/or destroying texts and people from that time. If people were frozen or skipped ahead in time, how would they know that it happened or how long they have skipped/been frozen?
yeah i think the 100 year gap was just the world government killing everyone except for the 20 countries and just making writing illegal. in the new chapter after they found the giant robot it proves that they were very technologically advanced before the reset, so the world government probably was scared of losing its power so it killed everyone that wasn’t part of the 20 countries

I agree, more recently Imu seems to transform into something, and if he were to have a devil fruit it would make much more sense for it to be a nightmare or darkeness related - as opposed to Luffy’s.

If there's a 100 years missing they probably simply started a decade or two leading up to what they wanted Hidden. Then did a massive book burning to get rid of all texts between that start date and the time of the burning. Put any mention of this event+ the past under heavy enough penalty (i.e. that eras equivalent of a buster call) make a handfull of examples if need be and things will be forgotten in a handfull of generations.

Which indicates that the 100-year void is not the only time they erased "something" from the world, but many other occassions as well when there were big enough threats.

I think the only way to create such a big flood is to changing the positions or even destroys the moons in the One Piece world. Thus, it can create very large tsunamis. We did see in Ohara that Earth in the One Piece world has multiple moons but now there is only one moon we can see and that's where the mink tribe can transform from. There may also be races that derive their strength from previously existing moons. One of them is lunarians and the race (Kuma & Blackbeard) to be announced soon. It might explain why they can't sleep.
Very INTERESTING video, I think besides future Elbaf, Final War and Laughtale arcs I think a Moon arc, a Revolutionary Army arc and a Redline arc would be amazing to have in the One Piece story.

My thought too. Either an awakened form or a stronger version of the same ability. It's so much more simple to have a devil fruit user that walks into a country and erases the minds of the entire population. The situation would be the same for the countries that were "unreachable", that user would not be able to just stroll in. So those countries would have been safe from memory cleansing. It would be just as easy to erase specific memories just as well, like the existence of certain races, leaders, etc. Again, imagination is the limit with how much control one could exert.

You know, I hate this theory. Not because I think it's wrong, but because it makes Foxy potentially the most important encounter the strawhats have ever had.
It even makes sense with Oda's style of writing. He loves to take seemingly pointless meetings and make them super important later.

I enjoyed your video and found your theories interesting. I had a couple of thoughts about them that I would like to share. First you theorized that people may have been frozen in time and thats why many people have no knowledge of the void century. Second you also suggested that Blackbeard may know more about the worlds history. I was thinking how are these connected and I remembered that it was rumored that Blackbeard doesnt sleep. If Imu had an ability to put people in a time suspended sleep then a counter would be to find away to stay awake

I think joyboy while either trying to defend or transform the entire planet , was distracted by Zuneshas and couldn't cover the sea and everything it touches for what ever reason creating the void century, made the sea poisonous to devil fruit user's and made him a sky god because that's all he could protect. Zuneshas saves zo on his back which is why he was punished for helping save a nation and made to carry them now, saves the sky islands, old wano which was apandoned and purposely flooded to raise it from the surface
1. Could the Red Line, or at least majority of its mass, have been a moon/planet that was brought down, soften, and then wrapped around the planet?
2. Could your proposed light/slow power for Imu be what caused the Calm belts?
A past user(s) of Fujitora's DF, whether at an awakened state or not, could have created the substrate for the Red Line in somewhat limited time.

I like this theory, only thing is that if everyone was stopped for a 100 years they would resume what they were doing after being released. They wouldn’t realize a 100 years passed. I think its darker history or maybe that there was a massive war and the shame was to wipe that out or what was in place before.
I do like that Mole theory, I definitely thought Laughtale would have a piece of every island on the planet and show that they were all one people and Joyboy being a God and Giant at will he changed the surface of the planet.

This was pretty interesting but I struggle to understand how you imagine the lowering of the water level would work. The redline is already inside the sea, you'd need to remove all that landmass and put it somewhere above sea level for the water to drop. If anything, simply destroying the red line would make the water lever rise since all that material that's currently above sea level would drop into the water.
Not sure if this is thought about already but while I was watching the video I realized. The poneglyphs cant be destroyed so they made them that way because they knew of imu and how she can erase anything
Great point, I like to think the Poneglyphs are made of Awakened Wapol Metal from someone from 900 years ago (maybe pluton is made of the same stuff?)

To add to this, the nefartari family was the only ruling family to not live in Maregoius. Notice how the land the rule over is a dessert. Perhaps a not so subtle punishment to the nefartari, was to deplete them of water as they weren't 100% down with the great cleansing by a flood.

Well a compass needs magnetic fields to work and the world has to spin for this to happen. But then the day night cycle would stop as well.

Another thing: During the VC is hinted at that JoyBoy created an alliance between all races, and wanted to make a land for all to be free. He had 3 different "weapons" to achieve it, but they weren't weapons at all. Poseidon enabled Noah which with bring FishMen to the surface. Proton I've heard theorized to be a giant drill ship, capable of drilling through anything including the Red Line or Earths crust (to make new islands). Last is Uranos which we know nothing about, other than associated mythology. It's rumored that the humans didn't want to share their land, so they betrayed JoyBoy and likely used 2 of the 3 weapons against him. We know Proton was one, and a new one had to be made to destroy the old one. This enabled the WG to make the Red Line. I think the other was Uranos. If most have been associating it with Sky (if so then it could be connected to Enlil) but i think it actually has to do Time. If they froze say the moon or world in place, that would cause the tidal wave effects to wipe out society

Since we head into a technology arc, I would like to share my idea about Imu-sama that fits to your theory.
In the field of engineering, an IMU is a specific type of sensor that measures angular rate, force and sometimes magnetic field. IMUs are at least composed of a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope.
So if Imu-sama is basically the earth's IMU with the potential capability to change the acceleration of the earth, that would lead to your mentions floods and so on. But also, if the OnePiece world behaves just like our globe, an unmoving globe would be frozen of the dark side..."frozen in time".
And on the other hand, a spinning/rotating gyroscope keeps it's balance, independent of it's position..."the balance in the world".
So IMU sama is kinda based on yin-yang... the moving balance & standstill death of the world.
