I think I'm afflicted from this condition I'm going through what you've explained and I'm going through lots of pain in my foot but I can't afford the medical fees for anything more than an x-ray and consolations. I've never asked for charity but the incessant pain is thoroughly affecting my quality life I'm stressed all the time and because of trying my best to put weight off my foot as best as I can to relieve the pain I've gained a lot of weight over a period of around a year right. I started noticing and feeling this injury around this same period last year and it just keeps getting worse and I'm trying to ask for some help

Try walking barefoot every day for a couple minutes per day!

Beautifully explained Sir Everything you said in your diagnosis is what is occurring with my L) foot. I am 63 yr old 6'4'' tall Australian male who would walk 4-6 klms every night with my dog. One evening back Jan 2023 I was walking and suddenly I felt twinge on top of my left foot. I assumed I had tied my shoelace too tight over a tendon. I untied the lace of my shoe but the pain was still there, 6 months later my left foot swells up by the end of the day mainly on top of my foot and the sides. I get pain that shoots all over the top, which causes me to limp around these days. All creams and cold sprays do not work nor does anti-inflammatories like Mobic rarely work. It's has limited my daily activities but as a retired Nurse things could be worse like having cancer or being a quadriplegic

Navicular pain does not go away with conventional rehabilitation/physiotherapy/medication.
Do you have any new way to treat this painful wound besides surgery?

    Hello "Everyday Doc",
I am an active 50 yr old white male. I was a body builder and power lifter for many years so i am a fairly big guy @ 5' 10", 235lbs. I decided to trim down and get rid of a few pounds so i increased my walking to include walking on a hill with a 15 degree incline and i added some basic hiking trails which are not flat or even. In the process of doing this i noticed some pain in the exact spot where you have it marked on the foot with a RED Spot. I believe this to be Navicular pain. A couple years ago i had a cuboid subluxation which i was able to correct with a little rest and a cuboid sling. This is on the same foot. I am able to walk, not run. There are times when i dont even notice it, then i will turn wrong or do something and it hurts. Most of the discomfort is when i take weight off of it after having weight on it. I can stand on my toes with no issues or pain and lower myself with no pain...i dont seem to have any issues with range of motion. There is a slight swelling but no bruising or discoloration. The swelling is so slight that its only apparent when compared directly to the other foot. Wearing shoes puts direct pressure on the spot which make is more uncomfortable, but, at the same time the support of the shoe seems to be slightly better than walking barefoot. I dont have the resources to seek medical attention at this time so i am wondering what would be the best course of action for a positive outcome. It has been bothering me for about 3 weeks now. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi there
, I would recommend a course of NSAID and unloading stress from the foot, and
as soon as you have the chance go get yourself checked. Be well.

I'm definitely staying off it as much as possible although I do have to walk during the course of my job. I am not running at all nor am I hiking. I'm taking NSAID's daily. Im hoping to see some recovery over the next few weeks ...there's no way I can afford to miss 6-8 weeks of work without pay.

In your case i have to say you misdiagnosed a navicular stress fracure which is really annoying you have to get a MRI of your foot to make share what procedure is good for you, you either need a short leg cast or a surgery to be performed

Hi. I am facing the exact same problem. Did you wear a cast or just don’t putting stress helps?

I have a delayed union for 8 years now. Where in the world are the best surgeons to pin it or screw it? Doctors in Finland think its too risky and will not operate
