    I had to replace the shifter cable in my 86 442 recently and had to remove the center console had all the screws out. Still wouldn't move. There was so much spilled mcdonald's soda over the years that was holding it down it acted like glue and literally destroyed a perfectly good console trying to get it loose from the floor. Now I cannot find a replacement all part of owning a older car. .

    A/c box leaking usually does this to the floor.. Mine only had small pinholes and was able to patch it up with body filler sand it all down and paint it. Patience is correct brother!! And no shortcuts cuz it will bite you at the end.. Always good content on your vids..

    • @charles1matt
      @charles1matt  Před 2 lety

      Easy but makes a mess! It's just 4 nuts from the inside, behind the plastic trim. The seal is a tar like mess though

      @charles1matt  Před 3 lety +1

      4 1/2inch nuts on the tracks. They have black plastic covers over them with 1 phillips head screw in each

    Folks. If a body paint tech tells you they don't like to do tare down, remove parts it's because one, it's time consuming and a pain in the ass and two, they are doing body and paint, not tare down and assembly. Another great point is the $ you will save by not paying the tech to do it for you. A skilled body paint tech is NOT cheap. Take advantage of his skills and save yourself some dough by removing those items.
