    Great vids. I’m a decorator by trade and It’s a shame some plasterers don’t learn from this page, because so many don’t clean up their mess afterwards and by using frog tape isn’t difficult and saves mess if doing a ceiling only or visa versa to keep that area clean. Keep up the great work 👍

    Hi Blaine, I've been plastering for about 9 years now and I still follow and watch your videos they are awesome, I have gone out in my own now doing and find it very therapeutic, I have one job coming up in March and that's the plaster an artexed archway in a kitchen, any ideas on how to get neat edges on that? Maybe stop beads or is there something else? Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

    So.. I'm living in Spain. Just outside of Alicante. Just bought our first villa and I've skimmed most of the rooms now - following you're excellent teachings and advice 😎👍 The only issue I have had is that the Spanish plaster - yeso extra fina - doesn't seem to work the same as multi finish.
    I've spoke to fellas - over here - who have plastering experience from the UK and they do say that they can't use this stuff over here as it's too difficult to work with.
    I seem to be getting there with it though. I've had to watch a few old Spanish CZcams vids on how they apply and finish.
    I have a few more walls to do so I'm gonna try some different approaches.
    Ya never know. I may even be able to make a living out of it 😲👍 Nearly all the older villas here have the spatter (orange peel) texture finish too them.. I think . At the right price.. there may be a nice bit of work out here. Even just doing 1 wall so that people can wallpaper. 😎👍

    This was an excellent tutorial, thank you so much! I have watched all your videos because I'm trying to learn how to plaster, and I find them very helpful for a total beginner. I have to say that in the last videos of the channel, there has been a great improvement in the educational aspect of the videos 🤓(before it was great, but I think now, it's truly excellent). If it's possible, could you make a tutorial on the best way to plaster around the edges of the walls, or starting from the top, close to the ceiling. I find very difficult the top of the walls or the corners between walls. Thank you very much for all the effort that you put into your videos. 😊

    Hi. Great videos, have learned a lot. I'm in the US and whenever I see plaster being done here (which isn't often) the plaster is always white. I'm just curious, that redish brown/tan plaster that you use, is it a gypsum plaster or true lime plaster? Would the techniques for applying it be the same for either?

  • @karlosbaldeano
    @karlosbaldeano Před rokem

    You've probably answered this before but why is that better than blue grit? It looks easier to roller on. Blue grit is a nightmare to get on. But say if you have a bit of wallpaper on the wall which is better. You know how hard it is to get it all off. So what I'd like to know is when is best to use what you used compared to blue grit? Also how far can you push it? I have also had plaster fall off from a lime wash which was put on. How would I deal with that?

    Great video as always Blaine. Apologies if I missed it but do you use the Bond it undiluted? Also what I'd really like to see is how you reverse the direction of the trowel so seamlessly when you're applying - I always have to lift the trowel right off first, otherwise I just end up sucking the plaster off onto the trowel!!

    • @PlasteringForBeginners
      @PlasteringForBeginners  Před rokem +1

      It doesn’t always work like that unfortunately- it’s the PVA is too strong then it can peel from the walls like glue. So 3 to 1 is good because it’s an equal concentration. How this makes sense…I’ll try and cover this soon 👍
