    I was reading Ledi Sayadaw's ဥတ္တမပုရိသ ဒီပနီ [Is that the same as 'Manual of Excellent Man'?] I noted Ledi Sayadaw translated the Pali ပဇာနာတိ pajanati into Burmese as 'အဟုတ်သိ၏'. One translation is 'Knowing actually'. Then, he gave an explanation of 'အဟုတ်သိ' or 'knowing actually'. 'ပါးစပ်က ပြောတတ်၊ ဟောတတ်သည်ကို အဟုတ်သိမဆို အမှတ်သိသာ ဆိုရ၏။ ကိုယ်တွင်းမှာ အလင်းပေါက်အောင် သိသည်ကိုသာ အဟုတ်သိ ဆိုသတည်း" 'Only when the light [or panna] shines in one's body can one say s/he knows actually'. Exactly the same as what Sayagyi said in this 3rd day discourse. 'Knowledge not by your sanna, not by your intellect, but by direct experience'. It is as if the truth, the Dhamma is flowing through Ledi Sayadaw to our Sayagyi for our benefits. I feel so fortunate and so grateful to the chain of teachers in this tradition which preserves the purity of it.

    The discourse jumps to another statement at 46:37/46:38. Can someone confirm this? 46:37-"the mind is within..."46:38- "lives the life where he observes vayadhamma..."

      No one.. there only observation of arising and passing and wisdom of anicca. Then you realise annata, that is no self. He mentions it in this talk. Listen again.

      @@menoutube If there is "no one", what is that which is aware of "no one'? Even you say, "then you realize anatta", to whom or to what this "you" is referred to?

      @@paramasadguru1618 its no 'one' i.e. no single person/individual.. there is awareness that is aware of there being arising and passing, of no personality/individual being there, and finally awareness that there never was any'one' there and that the personal identity was made up.
      Feel free to ask more. It helps me clarify my own understanding.

    • @paramasadguru1618
      @paramasadguru1618 Před 10 měsíci

      @@menoutube You are perfectly correct: I totally agree with you. It is AWARENESS or CONSCIOUSNESS that is inquiring about the body and the mind and finally transcending both of them. This Consciousness when gets reflected in the intellect, assumes the temporal form of ego-I. When this ego-I identifies itself with the body [matter] and the mind, the individual is born and this individual is totally controlled by 'me [ahamkara] and mine [mamakaara]' idea to deal with the world. Pure Consciousness is our primordial nature. When this Pure Consciousness recognizes its own Existence, it reveals itself to itself as "I AM". Here, "I" is of the nature of Consciousness [CHITH]and "AM" is of the nature of Existence [SATH]. Identifying with the matter and the mind is the greatest sin. Hence we have to extricate ourselves from them by observing them as taught to us by Bhagavan Buddha. Then we realize who we really ARE. We are of the nature of SATH-CHITH-AaNANDA. This is also called as "BUDDHA NATURE'. In Vedanta this Buddha Nature has been hailed as "Prajnaanam Brahma". The very purpose of these explanations is to show that what Bhagavan Buddha has taught is nothing but the core of Upanishads. It is for this reason that Buddha has been revered and respected in Sanatana Dharma. Why this fundamental truth is not explained in Vipassana discourse is not known. I firmly believe, on the basis of my own experience, that Buddha's technique of exploration of mind and matter certainly helps mankind to realize the Greatest Truths expounded by Upanishads.
