    Watching this video makes me want spring so bad. Listening to the birds. I camped that area 2 winters ago in -5 weather. It was brutal but beautiful. Drove my truck waaaay back in the dispersed area.

      I'm so with you, longing for more of this spring weather! We just confirmed a trip in April, so another video with some of the sounds and sights of spring will be coming soon!

    That tent set up/take down really made me appreciate my hammock.

    I tried doing this loop with my group of friends back on April 19th 2018 and there was a snowstorm the night before. We went in at the parking lot like you did and only made it in about a mile. We couldnt get any traction and it was extremely slow going, one friend slipped and slid down a hill and we had to use rope to get him back up, it was a real clusterf**k. We spent one night out there somewhere and trudged back out the next morning. We ended up going to the Seaton Creek campground for the remaining two nights. We tried so hard and I was to blame as I planned everything, except the snow storm. I plan on returning in 2022 and completing the loop. Great video! I subscribed!

    Thanks for the memories, this was my first overnight backpacking trip in May 2021. Did this on my 70th birthday, starting at Marilla trail head and going clockwise. More strenuous than I thought it would be.

      You’re very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it! I must have just missed you, because I took this trip the first week of June.

    I plan on doing this loop this spring maybe. I am wondering where I can find a map with the campsites? I have not found one.

    • @lovemihikes
      @lovemihikes  Před rokem +1

      This website seems to have a good map with campsite numbers on it. www.michigan-sportsman.com/threads/manistee-river-trail-red-bridge-out-where-to-park-2-cars.618307/
      Hope that helps!

      Thank you. You can disperse camp on the NCT side also, correct ?

    • @lovemihikes
      @lovemihikes  Před rokem +1

      @@HanzgohFilms yup! You’ll notice there are places here and there that have been used as campsites. The one thing to consider is that there aren’t any water sources on that side between red bridge and Eddington creek. Loads of water sources on the MRT side though!

    Where did you get that map at 12:02? I printed a map and it was two pages.

      Great question! I simply picked it up at a local outdoor gear store. But you can also order them from this website. www.michigantrailmaps.com
