Gretzky was built different? No, Gretzky played every year with the NHL West all-star team. McDavid is superior to Gretzky on every level, and if McDavid played on the NHL West all-star team every year, he would be scoring 200 pts a year too (even in this era with big goalies and other aspects that make it more difficult to rack up points). Gretzky was a mad genius though, his IQ maybe the only thing that is slightly higher, slightly. McDavid has at times turned players that don't even belong in NHL into legitimate scorers in the league, McDavid is the greatest to ever play, even if he never wins a Cup, a'la Dan Marino.
