MARILLION TO RELEASE THEIR LANDMARK PERFORMANCE “ALL ONE TONIGHT (LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL)” - WORLDWIDE IN STORES ON JULY 27TH 2018
On October 13, 2017, Marillion played at the Royal Albert Hall for the very first time. The concert was sold out in a split second and the audience, travelling from all over the world, was rewarded with an incredible Marillion show.
In two parts, “All One Tonight (Live At The Royal Albert Hall)” firstly showcases the band’s acclaimed 2016 studio album “F*** Everyone And Run (F E A R)” in full. Accompanied by an awe-inspiring light show and films, Marillion perform their incisive and era-defining zeitgeist with unparalleled passion and power.
The second half introduces In Praise Of Folly and guests, a string quartet with flute and French horn that throughout the rest of the show inject an extra depth and emotion to some of Marillion’s best-loved live material.
British rock band Marillion, founded in 1979, have become one of the most commercially successful neo-progressive rock bands of the 1980s and are still one of the most outstanding representatives of their genre. Throughout a celebrated career that has spanned almost four decades they have released 18 studio albums and sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
The concert film “All One Tonight (Live At The Royal Albert Hall)” was directed and edited by Tim Sidwell and recorded and mixed by Michael Hunter. The Blu-ray comes with exclusive bonus material such as a 35mins documentary and the sensational screen media.
Marillion’s landmark performance at London’s iconic concert hall will be released in stores worldwide on a series of formats via earMUSIC on July 27th, 2018. - Hudba
It took me many years to realize that, in the end, as much as I loved Fish, I like the Hogarth-era Marillion even more. So good. Thank you, gentlemen.
It's amazing to me that he sounds so good still.
@@JVR_Funwithdesign Agreed. Amazing is the right word.
I stopped listening after Fish left, and then years later, picked up a CD with Steve at the lead. I fell in love all over again and never stopped listening. The writing in this band is stellar, and even though there are some similarities there to other prog bands, I feel that they are unique...so glad I came back...♪
Same here. Also with genesis when Gabriel left then found Hacket again.
Had the same, the Album Brave brought me back.
moi aussi
Stellar is the word
I stopped after Seasons End... forever... Brave is surely a work of art, but not my thing!
Painfully underrated. Not just the song, but the band as well...
Power, artistry, emotion,. No ones brings it together in their music, and delivers it in a way that takes the listener on the journey with them, like Marillion does. My favorite band since the early 80s, and I am so grateful to have had the gift of their music throughout my life.
Sums it up perfectly! I try to get radio stations play this instead of f*ckin Kaileigh for years but would they listen?
ABSOLUTE GREATNESS... No more words to describe...
....better than that !!
One of the best and underated bands ever!!
This is a masterpiece ever written and performed
Not underrated a tiny little bit at all! +++ Whoever knows them, whoever hears any one song of them manages to acknowledge them their more-than5-stars-quality.
They are just not well-known enough in times of auto-tune and nameless one-song-producers, who pop up for one single wave, whereas Marillion is the ocean.
Agreed with you...❤
Criminally Underrated. A Masterpiece.
Un groupe qui mérite d'être connu, harmonie parfaite entre la musique classique et la voix de steve.Un chef d'oeuvre.Du grand MARILLION
One of the best musical cries to the world, Wake -Up!
Simply the greatest concert of the 21st century no question ❤
I've watched this 100 times and it gets me every time those dang onions
Yep, those dang onions...
Fantastic. One of my favorite Marillion songs. They killed that. Amazing.
When the live performance is better than the recording 👏👌👍
This is the song I play for anyone who’s never heard of Marillion
As I listen to this for the thousandth time I was thinking the same thing. The emotion their music delivers is second then NONE!
Marillion, the best band of the world.
What a voice....
kind man...humble I worked there and the first thing he did introduced himself and his lovely wife, asked how to get to the Museum of Music just outside the R.A.H, offered me a frienly hand shake, then asked what I though about the performance, when I told him was wonderful he sat delighted on the floor in joy, the rest of the band also very friendly with me and the fans I introduced for the signing of records, cd's etc. amazing...I was just backstage steward...
That's the job. I was usher. Sat down when concert was .... STARTED
@@richardburnett6997 Best job in the world, lol....
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
Angels on earth
I was a stubborn "fish only " fan for years, like a teenager hanging onto his ex girlfriend and hoping it would be ok again then resenting the new man involved, took me about 20 years to finally let go and embrace the Hogarth era.....boy,and what a change has been...like a moth to a butterfly,Marillion have changed and blossemed into a new version of what they were, which is a great thing.......I think they have matured into what is a natural progression and Fish couldn't have been part of that journey......what an amazing song...simply sublime!
I'm the same. I was a 'Fish era' fan and after the split I went to see Marillion with H at the London Astoria on the Seasons End tour on the Thursday night and literally two or three days later, Fish on the State Of Mind Tour at the Town and Country Club, again in London. Conflicting emotions on both evenings, the Seasons End and State of Mind tracks sounded great, but neither sounded quite right performing Fish era Marillion songs. I couldn't get my head around Steve's vocals on songs like Script during the Marillion gig and then when Fish performed the same song, it was the band that didn't sound quite right. Net result was I let them both go and contented myself with just wearing out my copies of Script, Fugazi, Misplaced Childhood etc. Several decades later I've caught up with both and can only echo your comments regarding Marillion.
One of the best performance ever, pure goosebumps. His voice is amazing. Thank you!
Has there ever been a more talented pair of genius players than Mosely and Rothery who were so understated and underrated too. They both make their playing look so easy.....and it is NOT.
Incroyable performance. Un truc de malade de par la perfection vocale, la justesse des instruments, des balances, bref tout. Absolument époustouflant !!!
Those of us who know, feel and love this band... How lucky we are :)
This is Music made by Angels and there are Still some left x
You know Sally and Martijn V, I have to agree.Of all the times we could have been born,we were fortunate enough to be born in the era of Marillion.
It is so so true Sally. From the heart
Sally Sturman, in 1986 I was a freshman attending college in the Adirondack Mountains in NY. There were no apparent radio stations so I wired up my receiver the best I could with whatever wire I could muster up. With headphones on I slowly and carefully rotated the tuning dial. There was only static......until I could hear the faint sound of a song I'd never heard before. Musical chords I'd never heard before. I immediately unplugged the headphones allowing the music to flow through my speakers. It was like detecting a signal from outer space. I ran across the hall to ask a fellow roommate that lived nearby closer to Canada and asked him if he had ever heard of this music. "Oh", he exclaimed, "you found Marillion, how lucky are you! Welcome to your first party." The song was Kaleigh being played on CHOM 97.7 out of Montreal Canada (111 miles away). My favourite band ever since that moment and I've seen them 3 times.
absolutely,have you seen them live?
What a singer, What a band! not one weak link
For me personally, Vai may play 100 notes in 10 secondes or minutes, but I don't actually "feel" them, but if Rothery plays only one note... Right into my heart and goosbumps all over my body!!! Just one of the best there is!!
I just saw a stupid pop up claiming to tell me the top 44 guitarists of all time...neither Vai or SR were on it. They should be a law against littering on the internet.
...nothing wrong with Steve Vai. Both, Steve and Steve, are fantastic guitarists.
Thomas Leysen Rothery hat seine vollkommen spezielle, wundervolle Art zu spielen. Es ist sinnlos darüber zu philosophieren, wer der beste Gitarrist ist. Er ist einzigartig!
Steve Rothery brings emotions that Steve vai can't do !!! And I appreciate Vai but I far prefer the playing of Steve Rothery !!!
Indeed very true
I am a huge Yes fan and this is the first piece I have heard from Marillion and , just wow, I am in love with their music.
start digging, theres gold to be found.
phenomenal. this is one of the few bands in music history that has aged BETTER with the years
A masterpiece. Musically and vocally
Hogart's voice is getting better as the years goes by... amazing !
He really pushed,and its Amazing
On top of the world like a flag on a mountain
Feeling so high you can feel so alone
Unable to breathe at the height that you flew
Staring on clouds with no view of below
On top of a girl like a dream in a hotel
Falling towards something out of control
Unable to miss like the man in the tram
Crashing your car in Amsterdam
He did it without knowing, didn't feel a thing
He just wrecked it and kept going
The space around the stars
Is something that you know
A billion miles of darkness
Left your feeling low
The space around the stars
Is something that you know
Everything about you
So perfectly restrained
But everything inside you
Bites you
Everybody in the whole of the world
Feels the same inside
Everybody in the whole of the world
Everyone is only everyone else
Everybody's got to know
Everybody lives and loves and laughs and cries
And eats and sleeps and grows and dies
Everybody in the whole of the world
Is the same this time
Is the same inside
In the whole of the world
Thank you. I just found this wonderful music a couple days ago. Now I can learn the lyrics while listening……thanks Transformed 70……Dave in Omaha
When a music like this hits my eardrums, the adrenal gland floods my bloodstream with adrenaline, my heartbeats accelerates, my breathing intensifies, the hairs in my neck stands up, and a shiver runs down my spine.
Oh my God! This is beautiful, love this song. Awesome!
This is progressive rock majesty.
Their guitarist is still one of the best that there was not getting credit for his greatness
When I listen The Space, I remember what I'm made of!!! The best Marillion music ever!!!!
Everybody lives and laughs and loves and cries and eats and sleeps and grows and dies
Genius.
I love band with Fish and Steve they are so unique and every albums it's just amazing
I just wish I was there..one of the greatest songs by any artist ever..
This is so spectacular!
Marillion fan since day 1! The Space always leaves a lump in my throat and tears to my eyes.
Wake up world! You’re beautiful!!
I come here at least twice a day to listen to this masterpiece!
One of the best live performances I have ever seen and listened to. ♥️♥️♥️
10th row center baby!!!! One of the best shows I've ever seen. Will never forget. And to boot we got 9 days of beautiful weather in London/Bath which is unusual especially for October.
finest music on this planet.
This is Marillion, no one like them, Marillion...
h still bringing me to tears 4 years after this performance, oh, what a night!
They have aged so well, this song still stands so tall. Pure talent and skill, beautiful rendition. Thanks for posting.
Saw them twice in 1990 in Philly. Hogarth had recently come on. After the shows they came out and got to talk with all four for a bit. As a 24 yr old it was beyond cool. Never will forget it. 👍🙏
Fantastic, Am I glad I grew up with this kind of music. Day after day, after day...Marillion both with Fish and later with Steve was playing.
Wow! What I missed out on! I loved Marillion years back as a teen when Fish was the singer. I think I must have taken my bat home when he left!! Anyway.. I "randomly" met two wonderful salt of the Earth blokes on the bus from York to Leeds yesterday (lots of love to you if you happen to read this!) They waxed so lyrical about the joys of Marillion that I came across this video. Wow. Amazing. I have just listened to it three times. I Cried. I also felt the joy that others understand too. Thankfully by now I understand the lyrics. So powerful; such great storytellers. Big respect and you have a new (re) fan.✌
Hi Suzi, you from Keswick? Would be another turn...
Musicianship at the ultimate level
Simply brilliant
One of modern music history's most underrated bands. Shunned by mainstream radio and media for decades, yet here they are playing the Royal Albert. Only bad thing about them is the ex GF they remind me of every time I hear them, but not in a bad way if you're reading this haha.
This song/band is getting me through some stressful times- I freaking LOVE them and Steve has the most infectious smile! I just love them so much and have been a fan for so long. This song is brilliant and the way he sings it is breathtaking.
So totally Ingrid's. This is good 🎼🎵🎶
I feel ya
5:45 onwards is powerful stuff indeed. Is he telling us, or begging us to realise we're the same inside?
Never stopped listening from day one. Fish was great but Steve is even greater. Love this band!
Fish is a much better lyricist but H is the better singer
@@jeffjacobson59 I wouldn't say so, they're both great lyricists, only they're different kinds. While Fish is more poetic, Hogarth is more explicit and on the nose. Season's End, Brave, Sounds That Can't Be Made, F.E.A.R. and An Hour Before Its Dark are albums who's lyrics I think to rival Fish's best albums (Script For a Jester's Tear, Fugazi and Clutching at Straws)
I don't understand how come I stopped listening to this band for so many years...it is just one of the most underrated band ever...This song is just brilliant with no comparison with any other prog rock song...it is special and unique. If Genesis inspired most of the prog rock artists this one remains unique. respect you made me cry and I hate you for that :)
It’s funny you say that, because most people thought in the day Marillion was plagiarizing Genesis!
@@MrNJT As I was listening to this masterpiece, I was thinking how it would sound if Peter Gabriel was singing it!
@@rickromero1143 Gabriel would certainly sound amazing! Imagine Genesis doing this? Certainly something stellar
nothing wrong about crying for joy...helps cleaning out your soul and mind
After Fish stopped as a lead singer they sound nothing like before. I was really disappointed to hear the new Marillion. No thanks...I prefer the original Marillion with Fish
Écoute-moi cette musique. Combinaison parfaite, de voix et d’instruments. C’est la majesté du rock progressif.
it was a question of time that a Fish-aban like me, will fall head over heels for these marvellous songs with Steve Hogarth. incredible voice with one of my fav bands ever.
Omg. That made me smile. If my ears my eye's and my beating heart could smile they did.Grateful for my senses.
What a performance. ❤❤❤
This great music brings me back to better times in my life🤔😔
I wish one day I will get to see this great band live.Thank you Marillion.Love from cyprus.
As far as I'm concerned these guys blow everything else out of the water...
yep
as an old Marillion fan..since the 80's...I can only say...I love this song!!
I stopped listening when the great man left after Clutching at Straws. Working from home during lock down has allowed me to catch up with what I have missed. A great band with Fish, a great band with Steve. Thank you covid
I remember vividly going by the record store and lo, there's a new Marillion album. "Hmm, what's this, new lead singer? Damn, I liked Fish a lot. Well, let's give this a try." I came to believe that, rather than losing something, we were all gifted with twice as much output. I love Onkel Fish but I wouldn't trade the Hogarth years for anything.
Welcome back. You have actually quite a bit to catch up. I started the same as you after a live-consert in 2008.
If we get hit with a plague, I'd checkout some of the cover bands, like Fleesh.
Was just after the Fish era in Rotterdam 1990 i think, seasons end tour with glass screen and musical cluffs.
now it become a 'baseball-bat"
After all this years, can 'H' do the intro at 'Seasons end" again, it's amazing beautiful.
'H' did a great job, beautiful songs, saw them twice in Utrecht-Tivoli- Netherlands.
Later on, just before Covid-breakout a concert at 'de Vereeniging' Nijmegen-Netherlands, my hometown.
What a brilliant concert Marillon&Friends on stage, after the antidote, come back please!
@@harry.lassche5423 I saw them in Dallas last February and they played "Seasons' End", so yes, H can still do that one. Cricket bat and all. :)
Steve Rothery, I do not have words to say about this solo. It's an incredible moment of the music history. Perfect solo a real masterpiece.
Pure musical gold
My favourite Marillion performance
Wooah! Blew be away tbh. I always liked Marillion but not heard them for years. Got to say this was pretty stunning and atmospheric 👍🏼👏🏻
AMAZING!!! This was a POWERFUL performance!!! 🎸
What a haunting voice..this is perfection..
Majestic to say the least!
Magnificent...
One of the finest songs ever written!
as a build , this song remind me of THE AWAKENING '08 MYSTERY, another great band. Both are awesome
All perfect winds ,strings ,drums ,voice its heavens to my ears and soul !!!!!
Brilliant band. Great song, awesome night 👌
I get sentimental about 80's Marillion. It was the soundtrack to my youth, and it was brilliant.
But after that, they grew so much, in every way, they should get way more credit. Their career is like a diptych.
Not many big bands morph like this.
They've found their sweet spot. Popular enough to sell out the Albert Hall and venues that size, but not so popular it's impossible to get tickets or their tickets are super expensive to see them.
As much as I love the Fish era, I love the H era even more.
My new favorite band. WOW!
My favourite band of all time..when fish left I continued to follow marillion with Steve and fish also..didn’t feel the need to write one of them off…both versions of marillion are superb in their own different ways..sometimes I’m in the mood for fish and sometimes Steve..see so you can have your cake and eat it..
I can't stop listening.. Steve(s), you are fantastic!!!
LOVE MARILLION... AND YOUR ROAD WILL BE HAPPINESS !!! ALWAYS… AND FOREVER !!!
Merci je pense pareil, bonne journée
Comment se fait il que je sois toujours fan de ce groupe même après 30 ans? Nostalgie? Je ne pense pas....merci
Magical. What an emotion stirring performance. Amazing.
This is absolutely amazing. Good job guys ❤️❤️❤️
The best band on the planet !
In music for the enjoyment they get out of it, not the money ! and joy it brings to others.
The group truely appreciate their fans. The song is a personal favourite of mine, the lyrics are so powerful. 😃
@@user-dw3ey1vl7u Только в твоих мечтах
What a great Band!!
Respect for the fact they've hired actual living human beings to play actual acoustic instruments, to open their show. That shouldn't need to be said but…
don't know what you mean....mayby ironic? improve!
His voice is unique, very captivating I love the lyrics very brilliant 🤩🎶🎶
Awesome bassist, excellent musicians, cello is so nice too, and h found his place in marillion 💛
The biggest goosebumps ever.
je découvre ce groupe , j'adore
Brilliant band. Great song
One of Marillion's greatest songs- only eclipsed by Neverland!
Océan's cloud , the New kings , invisible man , splintering Heart , el dorado ... Etc etc ...
Inspiring in every line up over the years. Wordsmiths and musicians extraordinaire. Thank you for the pleasure and may it long continue.
How can anyone give this a thumbs donw. This is AWESOME.You can feel the magic of the song.Luv IT!!
Awe struck. The pinnacle of musicianship. Marillion wins.
Absolutely Brilliant - oh to have been in that audience on that night. It must have been magical.
Absolument magique 💕💕
Eu tive o privilégio de ir num Show deles em Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Mt bom e os acompanho desde o começo.♥
L'intro est absolument magnifique. H toujours aussi charismatique.
Just found this band and song can't stop listening to it now ,awesome .
Enjoy the journey Alan.It's epic.
The lyrics to the final section, so true...
