I like that your instructional videos are straight up instructions. No blabbing and trying to be entertaining. I just need to know how something is done, and you show how to do it. Thanks!!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
This video was amazing. Helped me do electrical stuff, as I have always in the past hired electricians to do this work. Thanks for the excellent lesson!
Fantastic video! Clear, concise and easy to follow along.
Just put a ceiling fan up for the first time. Thank you for the video. Much better than the written instructions for us non electrical experts
Amen😂
This video helped out a lot! Very clear, easy to follow steps. Thank you so much!!
Perfect way to do an instructional video. Clear and to the point with good video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, John!
Stayed up tonight to remove my old Craftmade ceiling fan w/o light, to this exact fan w/ light. I was worried it wouldn’t work, but I followed this video to the T and I now have a faster fan w/ overhead lighting (finally)! Easy to understand instructions and not to fast/hasty explanation. 10/10.
That's awesome to hear! Good job! Enjoy your fan!
“Nice tall drink” lol. Awesome video!!! Thanks for this much needed video.
Excellent guide! Just put up mine following your video! 🔥
Your video was great. I had my phone out, and I went step by step right along with you and it installed perfectly. Thank you very much!!
Yeah good install video but some one should tell this guy to cut back on the demonic FreeMason hand symbols in the intro.
Thank you for having such a great step by step video! I was able to swap out the ceiling fan all by myself! First time ever! 🎉
That's awesome to hear! Congrats!
Great video, just installed my fan and it looks great. If your electric box is fiberglass, even though it says it will hold up to 50 lbs. I recommend switching it out for a fan rated metal box, the screws in the fiberglass boxes strip out easily. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and we're glad the video helped! Great tip on the outlet box.
Great installation video... thanks for the help 👊👍..
I put up four of these with confidence thanks to this easy to follow and understand video. THANK YOU!!!
NIce! That's great to hear! You're welcome!
Great video and helpful install instructions. Thanks
Thanks for the clear and precise instructions. I am a hero now !! Cheers and thanks again.
Awesome video you walked me through it better than the book did 👍🏼
Thanks!!!!!! That was a fantastic step by step instructional video......
This is the second Ashby Park Fan I have installed in my house. Truly one of the easiest to install thanks to this video. Thank you.
That's awesome to hear! You're welcome!
Just curious but do you enjoy the lighting? Is it more of a spotlight or does it light the room? Thx
@@Professor5180 the light is good but I also have recessed lighting in my living room so I don't use the fan light often. I do use it in my dining room. I like the different temperature settings too.
@@vzndave Just picked one up for my bedroom. Thanks for your input!
You give the best instructions and the video shows details. I am a 64 year old woman and got it done it took a few hours but I did it Thank you very much I appreciate you.
Thank you, and that's awesome!
Excellent guide!
Excellent video, beats reading the installation guide.
Thank you so much. My husband just install this fan and no issues. It is quite and everything works. The only thing is the remote is so tiny lol, but everything works well.
We're glad the video helped! Enjoy your new fan!
This video made the fan installation feel like a breeze. Amazing job of explaining things.
That's great to hear!
Excellent video ! Thank you
Thank You! Your instructions truly help with installing my HD Ashby Park 52inch fan.😊
We are happy to hear that the video helped.
Thank you for posting this . I just installed mine with you're help ,thank you
Awesome, good job!
Fantastic video. A completely inept future dad put up this fan in a nursery with no problems
Glad to hear that! So, 1.) you're obviously not completely inept :) and 2.) good luck with the new family addition!
Thanks for the video. Very detailed and very easy to follow. I used it to figure out how to install new blades after I accidentally broke my fan blades.
You're welcome! We're happy to hear that the video helped.
This video was extremely helpful and useful for putting my fallen fan back up lol. Thank you!
Thank you Sir! My fan came with no instructions and your video guided me from start to finish. Thanks
We're happy to hear that the video helped. If you want the manual, it can be downloaded from the product page on home depot's website.
Wow you made it look super easy
I’m buying one soon
Life SAVER. THANK YOU
Incredibly helpful clicked on the wrong one video without the remote ☹️ All good easy fix thank you
Much appreciated!
This is going to be my Saturday project (Tomorrow). I'll post an update afterwards !! Thank you for such wonderful and instructive video !!.
How did it go?
@@ceilingfans101 Thanks for the follow up. The short answer is that I managed to get the fan installed thanks to your video. I did not even look at the manual. The only thing the threw me off is that I have 2 hot cables (Red and Black) from the ceiling and the fan only has 1 red cable. The solution was to use one of the 2 from the ceiling + the white cable + ground and it worked perfectly. Thank you !!! 😀
Very clear. Thanks!
Well done, thank you, very helpful
Thanks..!!! Very well and informative video…

awww shucks, thanks! Glad the video helped.
I have 2 light switches, one for the light and the other for the fan . With my new fan one controls both. Making me have to always have the remote
🔥🔥🔥
my fan makes a clicking sound when i turn it on from the wall switch, and neither the lights or the fan work. Remote doesn't do much either, they say it might be the remote controller unit? Any thoughts? TIA
Sorry in advance for the novel i'm about to write. I would just double check that all of wiring is connected correctly. If wired to a wall switch, make sure that there is only one power wire connected to the fan. I'm not a licensed electrician (and you should consult with one if in doubt), but typically, a red wire is a switch wire and the house black is the constant supply wire. For trouble shooting purposes, i would wire the fan as instructed in the video and see if the fan works properly without the switch. If it works properly without the switch, the issue is the switch. If the wall control is a fan speed and light control, the issue would be with the switch. If wiring to a switch, the only acceptable switch would be a standard on/off style toggle switch. Hope that helps.
I have a ground wire on the mounting bracket, bare copper in the ceiling and ground wire in the motor.... should I wire them all together?
Yes, as long as the fan and mounting bracket wires are green ground wires, they should be connected to the Bare copper house wire.
Installation is very intuitive, however, this video is perfect!
Thanks!
What if there's no bare house wire to connect the green bracket wire to?
Can I use the white neutral wire instead?
NO, the green wire is a ground wire. If you don't have a bare ground wire for the house, you can just leave the green wire unconnected.
thank u so much
do you happen to know how to replace the led module when the light dies?
Mine just died. Were you able to find a replacement bulb?
I’m having trouble with my remote, I purchased two of these fans but somehow the remotes are connected so when I turn off the light in one room the other does as well, any fixes?
Yes, super easy fix. Change the dip switch settings in the remote and receiver in one of the fans. This is covered at the 4:21 mark. The dip switches can be set to any combination of up or down as long as the settings in the remote and receiver match. This will change the frequency of the remote.
thank you so much~ great~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!
how do I do the wiring for a 3 way switch? The remote only has two in but three out???
Thanks for the question. We are not licensed electricians and without knowing your exact set-up, we can not advise about the wiring for specialized situations. We would recommend calling a licensed electrician to make sure the fan is wired correctly.
When I turn on the switch, it seems to be going thru every single light before the one I like. Is there any way it can be set on 1 color without using the remote every time?
For this fan, we recommend connecting directly to the house wiring and not using a switch. The remote receiver has the memory function and using a switch will cause the light color temperature to change each time the switch is turned off/on.
I installed my ceiling fan works perfect with controller to turn on and lights and fan. But fan and lights do not turn off from power switch..I can only turn on and off with controller. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Let me start by saying that i am not a licensed electrician, and you should probably consult with one to figure out any wiring issues. Ok, with the discalimer out of the way, it sounds like the fan is not wired to the wall switch. The wiring described in this video and in the manual is for standard installation, connecting the receiver power wire to the house black wire. If your wall switch is wired to the outlet box is located in the ceiling, your house wires should be black, white, bare copper, and red (switch power wire). If you wired the fan's receiver as instructed in this video, the red power wire would not have been used. If you have a red power wire, connect the receiver power wire to the red wire and cap off the house black wire. That should allow you to use the wall switch to turn the fan and light on/off. The fan and light will need to be turned on initially using the remote, then you can use the switch to turn both on/off at the same time. Again, if you have any issues with wiring, you should contact a local licensed electrician.
I need to check to wiring in the housing since mine isn't working. How do you remove the trim ring?
The canopy ring twists off. See the installation at the 8:08 mark and then do the reverse to remove.
can you have 2 of these fan in the same home. they both work off the same remote. how do I separate the 2 remotes.
You can have up to 16 of these fans in the same home all operating at different frequencies. If you have 2 fans, you will need to change the frequency of one of the remote/receiver pairs to make sure the remote only controls the intended fan. This is covered in the video at the 4:20 mark.
I have screwed in the 4 screws to mount the motor and no matter how tight I get them the entire fan still rattles. It is definitely the motor rattling against the black ceiling mount. Any suggestions?
It sounds like the outlet box may not be completely tightened. If all other hardware is completely tightened, the outlet box seems like the only issue. If that does not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot.
Hey! Thanks for the video. I need some help. I have two of these fans in my apt and the remotes are wonky. The remote in the room will activate both fans when i onlu want to control the one. I see that theres frequency settings but idk where to start. Also any tips for why either of these doesnt actually dim? Its either on or off. Just moved into this place, these are the fans installed.
Each remote and receiver pair needs to be set to a unique dip switch setting to ensure that each remote only controls the intended fan. This is covered at the 4:06 mark. Since the fans are already installed, you will have to remove the canopy ring by twisting coutnerclockwise, and then unscrew 2 of the standard screws and loosen but not remove the 2 screws in the J slots. Then, you will be able to twist the motor housing to remove it from the mounting bracket which will give you access to the receiver. To dim the lights, press and hold the light button on the remote. While holding the button, the light will cycle from bright to dim to bright again. Release the button once the desired brightness level is reached.
Hi! Will be picking up this fan this week but I have a quick question: Since I have a wall switch, I have 1 ground, 1 neutral (white), 1 live (black) and 1 red (from switch) in the electrical box. Which of the black or red do I connect to the red wire on the receiver? Thanks for the answer and your video.
Apologies for the late reply. We missed this question. We'd suggest capping the red ceiling wire and connecting the receiver power wire to the house live wire.
I have a question about wall switch. My existing fan runs from wall switch. Will I be able to use wall switch or just remote. If remote only is the case my wall switch is just dead( no power going to it)
We do not recommend using a wal switch with this particular fan. Technically, the remote receiver can be connected to a standard on/off switch, but that may cause the light color temperature to change each time the switch is turned off/on.
I've installed a couple no problem, but on the one I just installed, the fan doesn't turn, but the light works. Before I uninstall and try to diagnose, is there something obvious to look at?
We would suggest making sure the wiring is connected correctly and that the wiring did not disconnect/get loose during the installation. That will sometimes happen after making the wire connections. If that doesn't resolve the issue, we would suggest calling the Home Decorators customer service team at 1-800-986-3460.
Can anyone please tell me if your light has a 3 second delay when turning on with light switch and remote?
We do not recommend installing this fan's receiver to a light switch. There will be a delay between turning the switch on and the fan/light turning on. This is to ensure that the receiver does not suffer a power surge. Also, we don't recommend using a light switch with this fan because it could cause the color temperature of the light to cahnge each time the switch is turned off/on. The light has a memory to remember its last setting and using a switch may erase the memory since power to the fan/light will be cut off.
I have two of the same fans in my house. If I use the remote it will turn both of them on. Is they’re a way to avoid that
Yes, the remotes need to be set at different frequencies. Watch the video at the 4:06 mark.
Is this the same approach for the 60 inch Ashby Park ceiling fan?
Yes, the 60" version basically installs the same.
I broke one of the blades, can you link me any replacement blade if you can find any. It would help a lot.
replacement blades can be ordered by calling Home Decorators Collection at 1-800-986-3460
Thanks for the great video! Our previous fan was a two switch set up. One for the light and one for the fan.
With this fan, the remote works for both the light and fan. Now only one switch controls the light and fan together.
I have black, white, copper and red coming out of the ceiling. The fan only has the red and white. Any recommendations to get both switches working?
We would suggest just connecting the receiver to the house black as shown in the video and not connecting it to any switches. With this fan, the receiver remembers the last setting for the fan and light. If you connect it to a switch, every time you turn the switch on/off, the light will change to the next color temperature and you will need to select the color temperature again. Connecting the receiver directly to the house power (black) avoids this issue. At most, you could connect the receiver to one standard on/off toggle switch, but again, the light control would be affected. We would not recommend setting this fan up with 2 switches.
Having a remote is a nice feature, but requiring it to use the fan properly is a pretty terrible solution. I am highly considering returning all these fans!
Really like the fan. I’m having trouble switching the light colors. It’s at default, but it won’t let me switch to the brightest setting. Any suggestions?
The light is controlled by 2 different buttons. The light on/off/and brightness is controlled by the light button on the left side. The color temperature is controlled by the CCT button to the right of the light button. To dim or increase the brightness of the light, press and hold the light button. While holding that button, the light will cycle through its brightness settings. Relase the button once the desired brightness level is reached. To change the color temperature of the light, press and release the CCT button. The light has 3 options: 2700K, 3000K, and 5000K. If the light does not respond to the CCT button, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-592-5233.
Is there an easy way to get the light cover off? I’m trying to replace a fan blade and that thing won’t budge…
The easiest way we have found, if the shade is stuck, is to knock lightly around the edges (like knocking on a door, and then using some rubber gloves and holding the shade at the edge and pushing up and twisting.
excellent ..well done..and i just finished...Wine time.. Wow the light is very bright..Reminds me that I am back doing surgery again at the hospital... no dimmer light here... If I had to say something, how about a candle lite mode. Something more romantic...
Thanks... last question, we have a wall toggle switch with a dimmer, do I have to change the wall switch?..
Glad the video helped. For a romantic mode, set the light to the 2700K setting and dim it down.
I’m installing this fan while watching this awesome video. But my question is on my previous fan i had a separate switch between the fan and the light. Not exactly sure how to proceed from there. Should i connect to just one black and one white? And just kill one of the switches?
Thanks for watching. We would recommend wiring the receiver directly to the house constant power wire (black) and just capping off the switch wire. The fan is not recommended for use with any switches due to the color changing LED. The LED has a memory to remember the color temperature setting and if connected to a switch, the light color temperature may change each time the switch is turned off/on.
Can you turn the light on and off without the actual fan running?
I just installed my fan following the video instructions but it will not start. I just the wiring and looks ok. There is power as well. Any suggestion?
Is the light installed and connected? If you are trying to test after making the wire connections, the fan will not operate until the light kit is connected. Also, make sure that if the fan is connected to a switch, that the switch is turned on. If those tips do not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460.
Great Video!
Just installed this fan and the remote is working very sporadically. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening?
i would check the connections and change the dip switch settings.
Link to park remote for this same type of fan?
If you need a repalcement remote, one can be ordered by calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460.
My light is extremely low, to the point of not even being on. I've replaced the light and tried to mess with the dimming function but its not working... any tips??
I would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service. They can get more info and help troubleshoot.
How can I wire this to control the light and fan from their independent wall switches?
Technically, it can be done, but we wouldn't recommend installing this fan to separate switches. The main reason being that if you wire the fan directly to switches, you will lose the ability to change the color temperature of the light. If you must have the fan wired to switches, you will just need to cut the quick connect wire harness plug from the end of the fan wires. The black wire is the fan speed power, the blue wire is the light power wire adn the white wire is neutral. If you have any questions about the wiring, we would recommend calling a licensed electrician. Please note that you can not instal this fan to use both the remote and wall switches. Doing so will damage the fan's receiver.
Did you end up cutting off the remote quick connect? That's what I'm thinking of doing, since I don't really care about the light color.
I installed this fan in 3 rooms. Alllll the fans are affected by a remote from one in the other room. If someone's turns on the light or increases the fan speed in 1 room, the other 2 get affected. How can we make the remotes only affect the fans for the room it's specifically in??
Each remote and receiver pair need to be set to a unique dip switch setting so that each remote only controls the intended fan. This is covered in detail in the video. Fast forward to the 4:06 mark "Preparing the remote and receiver"
I have tried 2 of these fans and whenever I change the fan speed it changes the color any ideas?
Sounds like the wires may be crossed. We would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting over the phone. They will also be able to send any replacement parts if necessary.
Great video. One of the best I've ever seen. I have a question for my particular installation. It seems I have a red and black wire coming from the ceiling. I capped off the red and used the black wire from the ceiling, and attached it to the red wire from the module...but, when I use my remote, I can here a clicking sound in module but the fan itself won't cycle. I'm stumped at this point! Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank for watching. Please make sure that the plug from the receiver is completely connected to the plug from the receiver and that all other wires connections are securely/completely connected. Sometimes, wire connections can loosen or disconnect during the installation. If that does not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting over the phone.
Great video. Finished one fan and Adding a second fan but, for this one, the ceiling has extra wires.
Ceiling:
Ground, white, black and red.
Fan: ground, white, and red.
How do I wire this?
We would suggest just capping the red wire from the ceiling and connecting the receiver red wire to the house black wire. We are not licensed electricians and can not advise on specialty wiring and would suggest contacting a licensed electrician if you are not sure about the wiring. That being said, typically, a red wire is a switch wire. If that is the case, if the switch is a standard on/off switch, you can connect the receiver red wire to the house red wire and cap off the house black wire. That would allow you to turn the fan and light on/off using the switch. Please note that if connected to a switch, the light's color temperature may change if the switch is turned off then on rapidly (within 4 seconds).
I’m having trouble with this, hooked up black to red on reciver and white to whit yet nothing when I turn it on
Make sure that the wires did not loosen after they were connected - happens sometimes. Also, make sure that the dip switches in the remote match the dip switches on the receiver. If that doesn't fix it, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting.
I have the span but I'm having a little problem with programming. I don't know how to program the remote. We have two of these fans in the house and I want to program them differently on different frequencies I noticed that the program allows it to do that. But I don't know how to program it I have heard that you turn the light switch off do something to the remote turn it back on or something like that to program it. Could you please help me with that.? Thank you
Watch the video at the 4:06 mark (preparing the remote and receiver). That section shows how to change the frequency if you have 2 of the same fan. You just need to set the dip switch settings for each remote. That will ensure that each emote only controls the intended fan.and receiver pair to a unique setting. That will ensure that each remote only controls the intended fan.
Great video. Second fan I install thanks to your videos. I have a question so after installing the fan the light switch don’t work? I will always have to use the remote control? TIA
Technically, the fan's receiver can be wired to a standard on/off toggle style switch which would allow you to turn the fan and light on/off at the same time. We don't recommend using a switch because if the switch is turned off/on too quickly, it could cause the color temperature of the light kit to change. For optimal operation, the fan should only be controlled with the remote.
I like the daylight color but don’t want to switch it to that everytime I go in the room anyway to change the factory color????
The best way to operate the fan and light is to use the remote and not use a wall switch. If you use a wall switch, the color temperature may change each time the switch is turned off/on. There is no way to change the default setting.
@@ceilingfans101 oh ok thanks for the info!
Please help! My Ashby Park ceiling fan receiver only has 3 wires: white, black and yellow (that's the antena). And my ceiling only has 2 wires: black and yellow. Which wires should I connect together?
We really can't answer without knowing what the yellow wire is. We would suggest calling a licensed electrician to make sure the wiring is connected correct. The wiring from the house should have a hot wire (typically black) and a neutral wire (typically white). The yellow may be a neutral wire, but it could also be a switch wire. Sorry we can't be more help.
Thank you for the video. Is that a way to remove the light shade? Reason is I want replace LED module as it doesn't work anymore. I tried to remove it but it won't twist at all.
it may help to knock lightly around the edges (like knocking on a door). Then push up a bit when trying to untwist the light shade. It also may help to wear rubber or latex gloves and hold the shade on the outer edges.
Thank you for your recommendation. I'll try it out.
Thanks for the great video.. Can you please help me identify the problem for a clicking sound. Mine was working fine for a week until the clicking sound started. Do you have any recommendations on what to do? TIA.
Most clicking can be attributed to loose parts or wire nuts tapping inside the motor housing. Make sure the wires are tucked into the mounting bracket and outlet box to ensure they do not tap against the inside of the motor housing. Also, make sure the blades and the light kit are completely tightened. If those tips don't help, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting.
@@ceilingfans101 Thank you. i checked the blades and double check the wiring and still is making noise. I will call the cust serv. Thank you very much for your quick response!! You are awesome!!
@@luisbarcenas8664 did you repare the sound???
@@JoseHernandez-sh1nz I ended up returning it and got a new one. I couldn't figure out what it was.
Any way to match the remote switches if fan is already installed
No, the only way to change the dip switches is to change them in the battery compartment of the remote and on the receiver which is housed in the motor housing. You will have to remove the fan from the mounting bracket to access the receiver.
@@ceilingfans101 thank you
