I could be wrong, but I think I read that the more damage Kirishima takes, the stronger his quirk becomes in the long run. As his body heals, his skin naturally becomes tougher but this also boosts his quirk. So it’s like if Kirishima loses a fight, and gets hurt but is able to recover, his hardening will be even stronger than before. It’s pretty cool!
Kiri is my favourite character from the whole series, he has such an amazing backstory and character development he is just so sweet. He actually got 4th place in the sports festival and doesn't get enough credit. Because he has self esteem issues I feel that he is a relateable character that has his own problems to overcome and make him stronger. Given the fact that he is the only one in his class who has had his debut (a good one mind you) he is definitely one of the top students in class 1-a he has an ultimate move that worked against rappa as we see in season 4. 100/10 for class 1-a's sweetest and manliest student.
