Hahaha that decade long kapal vs nipis vocal debacle of Regine. This shows her highly fascinating vocal texture evolution. One thing is constant - her voice never fails to amaze us, noon at ngayon. For me, may songs na mas bagay sa old manipis na voice nya, pero may songs naman na mas bagay sa makapal na boses niya now. Sana Maulit Muli is one of the latter.
Yes, I can feel you right there. I mean, she is always full of surprises. There was a time when I cursed out loud (which is not my usual behavior) when she sang a medley of goodbyes, where there was a part there when her voice sounded like Alvin the Chipmunk. It was too high, so flawless and so pleasant to my ears

What I like more about Regine is her class plus alam mong lalamunin niya ang song. Alam mo yung parang manipulated niya palagi ang songs because of her voice range and prowess. Hindi rin magalaw ang kamay at katawan just to project emotion. Di tulad ng mga baguhan nowadays, mahihilo ka sa sobrang galaw, di mapermi.hehehe. Parang sila ang nilalamon ng kanta sa pilit inaabot yung notes. I am not sure kung maintindihan ako.hehe. example siguro is ON THE WINGS OF LOVE in her primetime compared sa mga new singers na kumakanta niyan, wala parang they cannot manipulate the song, losing control ganun. Mataas pero kulang. But with Regine, she always sounds like on top of every song.

It was a flawless performance of regine! Her vocal coach is really good! I remember dun sa interview nya TWBA na may mga technique syang hindi na pwede gawin dahil din sa age nya! Wala na ung garalgal pag mataas na ung notes, Amazing Song bird!!

There has to be a fry, growl to project with weak and strong parts so that the emotions are transmitted via camera and sound system to all of us. As we all notice, The Regine Velasquez we already know as the best story teller and channel to the heart of each song Has been dethroned by The Regine Velasquez we see and enjoy today. I strongly believe na noong mas manipis ang boses Niya pinangarap Niyang mag mature at lumaki o kumapal ang tunog nito. Marami kasi Siyang naappreciate sa kapwa singers Niya from sa mga nakakasamasama Niya (especially Ms.Jaya and Ms. Lani) to all na hindi pa (o never na ata Niya makakasama) na halus akalain Niyang baka wala sa kanya ang mga napansin Niyang technique. At nowadays maaring(o malamang sa alamang) dumating na Siya sa point na "Sa wakas, mas mabigat na ang boses ko ngayon"!!!! As She ages, Regine improves and reinvents from time to time, persona to persona without losing Her consistency holistically. Para Siyang adobo at alak, habang tumatagal, lalung sumasarap, mas tumitindi ang hagod.

I think as a fan its not about the quality of her voice na - nipis, kapal etc. It will always be about how a song is being "reginified" - emotions, buga, control, puso, techniques song arrangement or yung evolution ng accompaniment and the like.

Syempre kahit papano nmn po npagaaralan at naadopt konapo ung mga singing techniques kasi choir member din po ako sa church nmin... Thats why hehe.. So yun po wlaa naman po akong negative feelings about sa reaction nyo.. May kanya knya nmn po tayung

Walang mali sa technique ni Regine sa kita part, rinig mo for sure how much reverb was put kaya tendency for singers to make a last minute decision to extend a certain note and do C/DC approach. The technical fault is too much effects na.
