Let’s just congratulate Agadmator on never having ads during the videos ❤
send him a few bucks!
@@donsurlylyte he’s the only CZcams channel I’ve ever donated to 😂
No ads and no sponsors.
I have ad blocker and it shows this video had 6 ads , at 0:50 , 1:35, 8:26 ,11:35,15:01 and 15:45.
@@badchessplyr Those are not ads, those times correspond to chapters; e.g. 8:26 and 11:35 are the pause the video moments. Though there is one skip-able ad before the video plays. I don't know if he has any control over that one.
That king walk to the other side of the board that led to the two kings virtually chilling next to each other is hilarious. What a game.
exactly what I thought
This game was full of "Call the ambulance! But not for me." moments 😎
Call an ambulance for both of us
Antonio is THE BEST 😁 Isn't he!
Always love the excitement Antonio has when b4 is played
"Just when you need it it's always there" 🤣
I went right past the library to the bar after watching this game. There was nothing more that could be done!
Have an excellent rest of your day and thanks for your wonderful suggestion
"do it for Steve" - even Agad found his own humour funny at that point
Yeah who is Steve?
@@JW-qd3ol 0:40 "as I understand from a few articles, they call him Steve" (Basically so he doesn't have to try and pronounce that name again)
8:58 now comes pawn to b4...incredible. Just when you need it, it's always there. :)
This is such a great line
This is more complicated than all of the games I ever played combined.
They agreed on 69,true gentlemen

Nice

Apparently, when Stockfish saw this game it said "Fuck that, I am switching to fishing!", flipped the table and stormed out of the room.
changing its name to Stockchess
2:29 "It doesn't even have to be a good move, he'll just play it."
If there ain't once singular sentence that describes my chess career.
Agadmator, I just want to say that in my opinion, your Chess Channel, is the greatest Chess Channel that I have ever come across. I enjoy every single video of yours!! I cannot believe as you explained that Ferero didn't see that move on 07:00 to win the game for white?! This game as you said was highly confusing!!
Wow! I've never seen a game where both sides are threatening checkmates and both sides are threatening pawn promotions, all at once.
“And White doesn’t miss this opportunity. Or rather he does, but not by a lot.” 😂
I live literally 20 minutes from where this was played and had no idea, my mind was blown in the intro when Naperville got name dropped. Great video as always
After this game was shown, the bar went reverently silent and the library erupted in cheers.
🤣
Draw is the best conclusion for this game, now I can watch this match for 100 of times without any regret.
16:02 Why doesn't the knight move to b6 to attack the queen and rook? i am 1700 player..
This is one of these rare games that I feel really happy for ending in a draw!
16:02 Why doesn't the knight move to b6 to attack the queen and rook? i am 1700 player..
Hi Agadmator and fellow chess players! I grew up playing against Steve in tournaments in grade school; he was a whiz! I believe his given first name is pronounced “Tian-chee” but I'm not sure. Really cool to see my old friend on your channel! I asked him about it and he said he was winning "trillions of times" haha
Actually 'tyen-chee' - the 'a' is very random - but I agree Steve is close enough.
I cant play chess very good. Its so fun to watch the elite in this way. Thanks.
You should practice with bots first, mainly low levelled ones. Then go to playing with players.
@@yogi30051972 good idea. Thanks mate!
I was looking through my bookshelf the other day and seeing all of the old books I had, I laughed.
It was then I noticed behind a wall of paperbacks my old encyclopedias--books silverfish riddled and made obsolete by today's modern search engines.
Feeling nostalgic and lamenting my lost past, I grabbed the alphabetically labelled book with the "I" on its spine and pulled it out.
Deranged and morbid, I flipped to the entry for "Insane."
There it was found, by the rather perturbed and addled me, a game of chess played by Escobar vs Wang.
And so it was.
I try to take away concepts and not particular epic moves, as its much easier to understand a basic concept than find a winning move in some random position. What I took away from this game at the end there was how powerful centralizing your queen on an open board is.
In my early A-player days we used to play such games that only computers could appreciate...you had to be good enough & bad enough for them!
Fun fact: Alder Escobar Forero is currently the president of the Colombian Chess Federation; he comes from Pereira, the same small city where GM Alonso Zapata was born...Alonso holds the record of the fastest win against a TOP 10 history Grand Master Champion: Zapata vs Anand (Biel 1988) 🎉
"Kg8 allows white to get back in the game and white doesn't miss this opportunity... rather he does... but not by a lot". lol. Very fun game. Very difficult find the moves. And nice ending move.
Was just about to quote this 😂😂 love you Agad, never change
This was a fantastic game, thank you for showing it and thanks to the person who suggested it.
I think an explanation as to why his nickname is Steve is more complicated than the game itself
Lmfaooooooooo
Probably. My theory is: His real name was Chang Wui Wang. His American friends persuaded him to change name to more common form: name and surname. So they gathered and discussed what would be the most natural way so that it still sounds as close to the original as possible. They came up with Tchangey Wang. But just few months before this he had married his long-time girlfriend, who happened to be Portuguese, and Tiago is popular Portuguese name. Under her influence, they agreed the new name would be Tianqi Wang.
this is the type of game, where your brain can equate and compute the old quote that chess parallels life. So many different portals for ones rabbit-hole to transpire. the different possibilities of roads taken n not taken. Always, and thankfully, something to learn.
I think it's worthwhile to explain, why Ka2 loses and Kb2 holds. The difference is, that after Kb2 Qe4; Rg3+ Kf2; Rc3 the white rook can go to c2 as he is supported by the king on b2.
Not what i imagined `steve´ from the US would look like.
How very stevist of you
Is it captain America reference?
Sick Game AGAD!!! Enjoyed
I haven't smiled and gasped and laughed and enjoyed the thrill that is chess in some time. I was dancing in my chair the whole time!! edit: and a cherry on top, 69 moves, nice.

What a wild ride. Many glorious "only moves" for this show enjoyer.
After 58:Rc3 to reach the "there is only one winning move" position at 11:34, would love to see an analysis of Black playing d4
The amount of checks delivered in this game were more than my entire semester....... Maths marks

Also your English marks,,,SEMESTER

In Japanese markings, check means incorrect.
The black queen on a1 went from being the most threatening piece on the board to the most useless, and then back to the most threatening.
Now you are the greatest chess player ever to Show these games on CZcams.
"If you can solve this, you are literally the greatest players to be watching chess videos on youtube". 🤣🤣🤣
LOL.
My favourite line in this superb Agad video of a great game which was full of great lines.
Ah man... I live in Naperville and passed by this every day when it was going on but wasn't aware of it. Wish I would've known so I could have observed.
“It would make sense to keep away the black queen with rook to E5 but uh.. then we probably wont have this game.“ Legend 😅
One thing i am glad you appreciate is just how Mikhail tal was brilliant
Thank you for introducing me to him
Great game. Didn't get the move but enjoyed the game so much. Thanks for your wonderful channel.

I actually liked it, love the breakdowns in your vids
"To those of you who are still here at the end..."
Haha as if I've ever stopped one of these excellent videos halfway through in my life.
Mind-Blowing... ! Thank you Antonio!
If there was a completely new chess piece (which can can only move on odd Sundays, by 12 squares forward) introduced into the game by the move 40, it wouldn't even make it more complicated. It just cannot be.
True, but how do you come up with that lol? Drugs?
That piece is essentially useless, since it can only move 12 square increments, assuming it can be placed anywhere on the board legally.
As soon as placed it would never have legal moves, thus essentially each player chooses a square on the board to make available to the enemy only by capture.
Without doing the math, it wouldn't be surprising to find that these two pieces actually reduce game complexity, since they would block a file a column and two diagonals each and not give the player any furthe options.
Thus, I'd wager that you're right, but only trivially so, since the average game of chess at move 40 would offer more complexity then the variation of the game that you propose.
@@paulomartins1008 I was recently thinking about this - imagine post-move 40 you would have the right to one Super Knight move where you have the regular knight move but with one square extra - if your knight is on g1, you can move it to f4 instead of f3. Not mandatory and you have to decide when to use. And, naturally, you cannot just claim check out of nowhere (e.g. king would be within range for super knight check but you haven't actually used it yet. Such a check can only be delivered IF you use that move, and this range lasts for one move only)
Agadmator, you sell this game like a priest sells heaven. Well done !
My head hurts after watching this game incredible how fascinating chess is
Agad I love your videos and I am a true fan of yours.. I just have a humble suggestion if you could increase the duration of your analysis to around 15 mins because 10 mins each game just doesnt suffice #suggestion
I think game winning queen moves are the most complicated yet most beautiful moves in all of chess
Hi Agad, big fan. I was one of the participants in this tournament and commented this game for chess life magazine march edition, wondering if it inspired to show you this game?
Much love
Gauri
This game is a truly masterpiece
It was the comedy of errors, more than an "ultra-complicated" game.
Never knew Mr bean played chess
Thanks for making a 15+ min video.
Sir, you are just amazing! Love from Brazil 😁
I don’t think the match was this complicated. It's always you who makes all the games this much complicated by calculating all the possible outcomes...and we all actually enjoy this too much...😁♥️♥️
Game is complicated just because of those variations. You not understanding them doesn't change it
The game is very complicated, especially if you consider the fact that the players actually have to consider some of these variations themselves while playing
Agad has been playing chess far more than you do, he is more experienced than you
The fact that this open game was constantly on a knife's edge until move 69 meant that this game was indeed that complicated.
Relax dudes...I wasn’t disrespecting agads or the game.I was just trying to be a little bit sarcastic.Agad brings to us so many variations of each and every game that every games becomes this much complicated. And we all love this.I was just saying this in a sarcastic manner...peace...❤️
I finished watching it without any disgust. Good game.
14:00 from the video it's not clear at all why Kb2 is saving white so I had to put the position in analysis mode to understand. The difference is that in 14:30 the white rook can go to c3 and this wouldn't allow the black queen to check in e2 because of Rc2. With the white king at a2 Rc2 wasn't possible. Incredible
Thank you for taking time to write this!! i was wondering, and was just about ready to give up the search for the answer in the chat 🙏
@@springpojken glad I could help ^_^
The only difference between the position on 10:37and 13:20 is that king is on c2 instead of b2. Funny how one of them is a loss for white and the other is a draw.
#suggestion Rashid vs Timofeev 1970. Antonio plz show this game... spectacular, mind boggling game.
wanted to tell you that your level of content is beautiful :) just like when you made me meet chess
4:05 Oh, the Nc2 looks soooo nice. I've just checked why it's so bad you didn't even notice it and I feel bad right now xD
This is such a great game! Exciting and challenging all the way until the end! ;-)
This game broke me!! My club members will be thrilled!
It twisted my mind 69 times as well.
He says find the winning move not the winning line. So I accept the praise for solving the pause the video moments. Its the praise I need. Not the one I deserve
on move SIXTY-NINE.... Agadmator is a man of culture
I feel like I was beaten up in an alley.
There were 69 moves and 70 checks made in this game.
Chess never cease to amaze me :)
What a rollercoaster! Great game!
At 10:51 a simpler win for Black than ...a2 is ...Qb3+/QxQ, ab3+/Kxb3, a2.

as a 900 rated elo player and spoted the Pause video 2 moment I actually feel proud about myself :)
Piece of art.

Wow coincidence I was going to request more Mikhail Tal games the Magician he is one of my favorites to watch up there with Fisher
Why will the final variation not work if the black king is on b2 instead of a2?
on 1st Pause - Qe5 should be met with R(c3)e3+, Ke2, Re8 and it's a draw by perpetual check or black has to give up queen for the pawn - I don't have an engine may be your analysis is correct but I am curious -- you should have shown both rook moves
I need 0.75x to follow because of the many complex standings. Amazing game.
Such a great game I had to stop the video to take a mental break.
Mr. Bean is such an all-around talent.
Splendid game ! I still have all my brain intact. Well, if not, I wouldn't even notice, so...
This is the best game i've seen in years
Humans - amazing game
Stockfish - fascinating behavior
I'm literally watching this video....ON THE INTERNET....so empirically, said game did not break the internet.
What d'ya mean there was nothing more to be done at the end - you just demonstrated that White could have won! He just didn't see it. Awesome game though!
That was played a few miles from where I’m from. I had no clue!
the position of the ka2 blunder should totally be in a chess puzzle
16:02 Why doesn't the knight move to b6 to attack the queen and rook? i am 1700 player..

great game from both players
"a game played perfectly is always a draw"
Not only is 9...h5 not a novelty, it was played, inter alia, in a Titled Tuesday between Ethan Saya and Viacheslav Slovineanu literally 4 days before this game. That one continued 10. Bxd6 Qxd6; 11. Qd2, which would make 11. Ng3 the novelty (unless someone else has access to a larger database). That game was sadly not so exciting, with the 2 players shuffling about for 54 moves (90 moves total) in an obviously completely drawn R+3p endgame. Maybe Tianqi's inspiration for this line came from Samant-Shimanov 2022, which went 9...h5; 10. 0-0 h4; 11. Re1 Kf8; 12. Qd2 h3 and black eventually won. In any case, this is a set-up that has seen a number of recent games so the players were most likely not going into the position unprepared.
