    Buta Kola is an Animist form of Spirit worship from the coastal districts of Tulu Nadu and some parts of Malenadu of Karnataka and Kasargod in Northern Kerala, India. Due to the lockdown, lot of people who have been associated with bhuta kola for a living have suffered.
    ABOUT STORIES THAT MATTER:
    ‘Stories That Matter’ is a documentary series where we try to uplift some stories that deserve to be in the limelight. We believe every single individual in this world has a story to tell, through our initiative we try to push some stories that the media fails to cover.‘Stories That Matter’ started off with a bunch of young enthusiasts, wanting to make films, because we were passionate about it and eventually, these films ended up in National Level Film Festivals. Pretty cool for following our passion, right?
    The idea of this series started off as we came across various individuals and their stories during the pandemic, most of whom have suffered financially and we wanted to raise funds for few of them, which could help them in sustaining their livelihood. Over time we came across so many stories, that we felt the need to continuously make documentaries so as to make their voices heard. At this point, we are trying to expand our stories all across Karnataka and India, eventually to make this a National project.Raga Productions, helps you cut through the noise and understand what’s driving events in the headlines and in our lives.

    Till we consider is as an Art form and try to support it .....It is very welcoming....Sometimes it breaks many norms of spirituality and influence in negative way where many with vulnerable situation and mind get influenced......that is a bit unnerving

      Bootha is a real Tulu word ❤ and Daiva is Sanskrit word. Daiva kola is the recent term used and not real word

    • @payoj7532
      @payoj7532 Před rokem

      Daiva is a recently given word by outsiders, locals still call this ritual as Būta(not bhoota)-kōla or Būtole.

    This is the reality of this tradition,,,they are fully dependent to do it,,they don't have any option other then doing that dance and risk there life's by dancing in fire,,and people are getting spiritual peace in there dance and enjoying it,,,but other side of this tradition is very painful,,they are risking there life to earn,,,gvmnt should do something for such communities,,,they also have right to study and live better life rather then there generation spoil themselves for people's entertainment,,,
