This exact same thing happened on my 13 Rio. I replaced the valve and reccharged th ac. Did it myself. Works great now! I did not need to remove the compressor though

Were you able to get to the valve without any obstructions? Also, did you do a vacuum test before re-charging with the right amount of R134A?

Do you have to drain the ac system?

Yes, to do this type of repair, you have to recover the freon if there is still some in the system. You can check out some of my other videos on this topic.

Did this repair solve the problem?

Its any way to test the compressor valve without to take off from the compressor?

Yes you can but it won't be definitive if it's the problem because you need to see if the valve is actually opening and closing when you apply 12v dc to it. You need to make sure that spring valve is opening and closing.

You can usually hear it open and close if you are in a quiet setting.

@@pythonprogrammer7354 Yes, that would be ideal in a closed garage.

@@MannyFontes1968 You just unplug the valve connector. And you would need to apply 12v to the 2 contacts on the valve. You should be able to hear it open and close as you touch the contacts on and off. Hope this helps. Good luck.
