I don't know why people hate on last children, this feels like the first time we see the more mellow and tired "big bro" or "Uncle" Guts that he will eventually evolve into. His interaction with Jill here is one of my favorite panels.
People hate Lost Children? I guess on the surface it is sort of “irrelevant filler”, but it’s really important for Guts’ character. And the fight scene is one of the best and most brutal out of the whole manga. And Guts having to tell someone who is obviously supposed to be a parallel to him that there’s no paradise to escape to is heartbreaking, but sort of uplifting as well. It’s like Guts coming to terms with some of his own issues after going fuckin berserk (kek) during the fight with Rosine. It’s so fucking heavy, and I love how the fact that the apostles are children isn’t just pointless shock value. It carries such a heartbreaking display of the loss of innocence. Children needing to grow up and do adult things before they are ready to, and what it leads to. God Dammit Berserk is so fucking good.
@@southofheck it’s not even “irrelevant filler” on a surface level. It’s fantastic all the way throughout. People are fools for not understanding it all.
@@Gadget-Walkmen The lost children arc is one of the most important arcs in the whole Berserk because in this one we see Guts to realize his cons for the first time. I do not care if some people call it just a "filler" for the one who understands the actual life lesson from this story I can relate to.
its one of my favorite arcs and it honestly makes the later arcs seem worse imo because his reasons for not taking jill are so valid, he can't take anyone but puck because everyone else will be in constant danger and even then puck is more or less following him around. then later on he gets the brand nullified from schierke and like 6 fucking people start following him around making this entire plot point worthless. instead of being almost completely alone and not even being able to sleep because of the brand he now has next to no conflict besides accidentally running into situations where he does. there just isnt any more suspense of constant danger anymore

Everything about this scene is perfect, and I find Guts's hesitation to be particularly haunting. The man is at death's door as usual, but mainly due to him refusing to give in to his lust for bloody vengence for the sake of a young girl. He's effectly become one with the night, yet he cannot coldly abandon his humanity by killing a child, even if she independently chose to sacrifice what made her human. Rosine is very much like what Guts would've turned out as had he not gotten involved with the Band of the Hawk. Jill is effectively making the same decision Guts's made on that hill in the snow, when he left the Hawks. Guts refuses, and Jill goes home to make something of the life she *does* have, putting the idea in Guts's mind to do the same. It really is beautiful stuff. Everywhere you go in life, there will be evil always lurking, looking to take you down to its level. You either end up drifting forever, or carving out your own pocket of happiness among the abyss for the people you care about.
Also, Guts tries multiple times to drive her away with fear and threats, but once he finally drops the facade of darkness he created for himself to hide away, she understood what he was saying. She saw a side if Guys not many have recently seen, the real him. Now she knew what he really meant. Scaring someone can be seen as a challenge to them, but opening your heart is complete honesty.
my assumption was that Guts would have killed Rosine if given the chance and possibly even Jill too if she refused to get out of his way. If i remember correctly he was left with that dilemma but gets shot by Jill's dad before he can make the choice.
The way he says that last line was actually empathetic of Guts, this is where he shows that he's a danger to everyone, whether he likes it or not. He escaped certain death, only for it to follow his trail and now won't let him have his peace. Because all this time, he thought killing Apostles of the God Hand and finding Griffith would make it go away.

Ppl can shit on lost children all they want, but this scene (and its context) are required reading for berserk.
Jill totally could've joined the traveling party, she was just two arcs to early
that was awesome but shouldve slow faded out on the last panel imo. it wasnt up long. Hella cool though, love the creepy music
It's great but the picture changes a little too fast.
This ark is better than most of berserk's arks
the only paradise that existed... was destroyed by griffith
lost children ark is the best ark and you cant change my mined on that.
I kinda wanna try and read this now, took me 5 years to have guts to read this. i think i can rrady it now because after this 5 years, ive read/watch evangelion, blacksouls,
metamorphis.gimme link on where i can read
Try typing " Berserk Manga Online " You should be able to find a source somewhere
Long pause on the last frame and you have a winner with this one. Add a custom intro and short outro for your content and you will get to 50k subs in less than 6 months.
Lol an intro and outro wont magically bolstsr your views, what kind of shit is that 😂😂😂
@@Oceanbruhh Why not?
The music amazing. Anyone know what the song is called?
Dishonored Wrenhaven River.
Vita Lightning Bolt
Thank you!
@@vitalightningbolt5252 thank
Song?
How name the song?
The only problem with this scene is the fact that after this happened, Guts went to fairy land with his gang of knick knack and goobers with a bunch of deadweight on the side.
Why would you cut the best line??? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Do you guys know if Jill appears later in the manga ?
Sadly no, but if her return was intended, I'm sure the team will figure out a way to fit her in
@@basselhatem2 I wish the same for Theresia, Erica and Rickert!
@@PedroLucas-mg5je well Rickert and Erica are absolutely gonna show, because I think Rickert still has a big role to play, him and the bakiraka.
Anybody knows what's the music?
Wrenhaven River Dishonored
The so called controversial arc as if the rest of berserk was wholesome and pg
What song is this?
A bit late but “Wrenhaven River” from the game dishonoured

Eyes should be white not red when he is in berserk mode.
I tried it out with white eyes, I didn't like it. Red eyes symbolize for me the blind rage & bloodlust Guts has in this Arc.
@@vitalightningbolt5252 White eyes are the sign of blind rage for characters.
@@touchingisjustthefirststep For me they represent a cold lack of emotion.
@@megashark1013 He is in complete rage/angry mode when he puts that shit on therefore the white eyes which usually indicate rage/anger. I have mixed feelings about this fan art to begin with.
TouchingIsJustTheFirstStep lol his eyes are red in the berserker armor. And that meaning of white eyes sounds pretty subjective
