I can't tell what you did with your leftovers but when I was in the Philippines and would eat alone, many times the food serving is too much for one person. Thus, I would have a lot of leftovers. What I would do is have the server bag it "to go" and would hand it to the first street person (homeless) I see and there is a lot of them by just walking outside. Especially fried rice since it's a meal within itself. If you have not done this since I can't tell from this video. Please take your clean leftover food and help feed someone hungry especially street children. Thank you.

Love how you go out of your way to provide some historical info on the places you visit to for your viewers/subscribers - even at the not - so - touristy places. You're a true, bonafide traveler, Marshall. (Fyi, there are other foreign vloggers here in the Philippines, but many of them - at least their activities & places of visit - are basically redundant, really. It gets pretty boring - at least for me. But I'm glad they're making my country a home - for the moment, at least.)

My Fil Chinese brought me there before pandemic.twas like an old very old chinese...resto but the minute you tasted the food, whoa!
I keep coming back. Two years ago they started to renovate,to my surprise, during pandemic! Best sellers include Pancit canton and Lechon Kawali...Toho fried shanghai and Fried Rice.
Ì find the new Toho a bit...commercialise.after the reno.
The old Toho gives you a nostalgic feel..it was really Old!

Steamed fish in the 1960s in most Cantonese restaurant in Manila would be black grouper or lapulapu in the local language. Cream Dory, a fairly recent variety is best served as fillet.

You know i wish could say the same for their other branches. The one in Festival mall Alabang SUCKS big time. For the three times i've dined there, my beef brisket noodles was always served tepid! Noodle-soup dishes is always to be served piping hot! Their branch in President's ave Parañaque though tries their best to replicate the quality of the dishes in the Original branch.

Thank you for this. Toho has always been a go-to place for my family since 1970s esp birthdays, until my father passed away.. He was acquainted with the Chinese owners before then until it was inherited by the children and grandchildren afterwards. The old walls would carry classic pictures with Dr. Jose Rizal esp in the 2nd flr. I agree with @samns, lumpiang shanghai, chicken, and pancit are just some of their specialties, also pinsek, pancit canton, hototai guisado, chopsuey... So much more. I am so glad they are still there. Time to visit again.... See you soon Toho. Ah yes, don't forget "pabalot", so no food waste.
