    ///ABOUT THE GAME///
    Cyberpunk 2077 is a Sci-Fi Action RPG game set in the future of 2077 where technology rules and rogue AI's are a huge danger to humanity. In this game you play as a merc(enary) who finds him or herself in a pile of trouble after trying to pull a heist on one of the biggest, if not the biggest corporation in Night City. Now all he can do is try and survive by any means necessary before the construct in his head takes over. He takes on contracts from various fixers and makes diverse connections with all types of characters in the hope of finding himself a cure.

    the issue with it taking place after v's wild ride is it will need to choose a lore acurate ending or completly ignore what happened

    • @DKOIsoul
      @DKOIsoul Před 9 dny +10

      Tbh the "issue" with it being after V's story is that it would have to be a lot of years later when the city has changed otherwise we're gonna be seeing the same map or they have to make it take place somewhere else where V will most likely not even be relevant anyway or if they are then they will be mentioned by very few.
      They COULD put the next game in another city but that has issues of its own since NC is supposed to be THE cyberpunk city unless you count Japan (unknown on Korea or China unless I missed something) which is the only place that has cities like NC. As much as I love this game, I would say that the "cyberpunk" that people are mainly looking for is very small in this game too so a place that isn't NC or in Japan could be a little disappointing but creating a non anime game they know a lot of English speakers or people who prefer English are gonna play and putting you in a country that is going to be speaking an Asian language can be difficult.
      But I don't think the game is coming for a while lol so still too soon to say anything. I'm sure it'll be good. Waiting already.

      @@DKOIsoul Militech takes over Night City in 2079. We see this through the Reed ending, but most endings are an assault on Arasaka tower that leaves Arasaka too weak to support NC in their struggle for independence, meaning the NC takeover in 2079 is most likely canon.
      If they do make a game that's set post 2079, I theorize it'll be about the second DataKrash, because there was an abundance of rogue AIs in 2077, and with Militech experimenting with the blackwall, as seen with Songbird, the Militech Canto and Erebus, in the future, post NC takeover, they'd probably be even more prone to doing so which means alot of AIs would've breached the blackwall.
      The Fourth Corporate War aligned perfectly with the DataKrash, too. The Fourth Corporate War started 2021, and the DataKrash happened either 2020 or 2022. We see the outcome of the Fifth Corporate War in 2079. In 2077, Militech is already experimenting with Rogue AIs. Rache Bartmoss had the R.A.B.I.D.S & subsequent DataKrash planned out before his death. I think there's alot of correlation there.
      Imo, if there isn't a game set before 2077, it'll probably be about the blackwall messing everything up or sumn. Idk

    Well...not to argue or 'roast' you, but I see things quite differently. We've had 3 iterations of the Cyberpunk story...the main game, the Phantom Liberty expansion, and Edgerunners. All these stories were different, with a different cast of characters [except V, of course...but Phantom was practically a different game in nearly every other way].
    I have no problem with further stories being told, set in Night City. Phantom made a whole different city district appear overnight, and I could easily see 'Cyberpunk 2079' being set in the Night City we glimpsed in The Tower ending, where V disappears into the crowd. It would not be at all hard to imagine Night City being expanded, both outwards into all those 'There's Nothing Here For You Yet' and inwards with more interior locations in megatowers, underground tunnel areas, even behind all those locked doors we encounter everywhere. The basic architecture is complete, so adding to it would make a lot more sense, IMO, than having to create a whole new cityscape in Boston, or Atlanta, or whereever. There's absolutely no need to reinvent a whole lot of wheels for the CP77 sequel.
    Put into it a new cast of characters [I hope with cameos at least from familiar characters...all of whom are alive at the end of Phantom [except poor So Mi, RIP] telling a new story, or perhaps _completing_ stories whose beginning we've already seen. I was sure the 'political/'spy thriller' Phantom Liberty was billed as being would advance the story of Jeff and Liz Peralez, Gary the Prophet, AI Alt and Mr. Blue Eyes...tons of story potential there. All that is the stuff sequels are made of. But...I could be wrong, and we are going to have to wait several years [I'm guessing about 5] to see what happens next.

      I agree with you so much. I think the Cyberpunk franchise shouldn't be based around continuing the same story to no end, but rather add new characters to get attached too while keeping the common themes of the world and similar fundamentals of gameplay sort of like the Elder Scrolls I think. If they made Cyberpunk Orion they could do like a really simple cameo like Muamar comes back and sells you V's car and then mentions something about the Merc that owned it. I'm just so excited to see what CDPR cooks up for the sequel because no matter what they do, as long as it's somewhat similar to 2077, it should be nothing short of incredible.

    I think it would be cool if the game just grew. Even loading screens in between, it would be cool to have your home town at hand but travel potentially states over or off planet. They could change up some areas to go with time passing as a real city would. Maybe Dogtown get partially rebuilt and adds new stuff to find and take part in. Maybe part of that growth is what makes travel possible. whatever it is, I'm excited to play it.

  • @itsapathy

    Your take has valid points. Imo Spiderman 2 (though I never played it) probably has the answer for what they should do with Project Orion. Take the base game map, add another sizable expansion to the city or nearby areas as big or bigger than phantom liberty, and maybe add more explorable interiors. I think NC is too iconic and well designed to be used just for one game. It should 100% return for a sequel, but they definitely should expand upon the map. If nothing else, even a Badlands expansion like what was seen in the Nomad lifepath intro could be pretty interesting! :)

    My dream for Cyberpunk Orion is for an entirely separate story set in Night City of course and maybe around the same year as 2077. I also want it to have the same gameplay fundamentals like fixers, cyberware, skill trees, all that stuff but I want it to be expanded upon. It can be simple expansions like giving fixers more gigs, adding more cyberware, but I would like to see how much CDPR and really add to make the city feel real. Also I think a standalone multiplayer mode would be amazing. We already see that mercenarys are pretty common and that fixers have plenty of jobs to give out and gangs are very relevant so adding a multiplayer mode that allows you to just play as a dude in Night City would be incredible. However I don't want to see it turn into a RDR2 situation where the multiplayer barely gets support and has like 5 things to do all for the sake of getting 2-3 expensive items.

[mind you arasaka waterfront itself is a huge part of the map and its like completely unused also theres a blockout of that arasaka carrier thats unused as well] the casino and the whole rich people hillside near it that was practically completely canned [this is another huge area that didnt even make it to retail] the oil fields as a whole scrapped [again another huge area just unused] theres alot more stuff like the biotechnica farms or whatever that get no screen time besides i think nomad intro. and not to mention corps as a whole being underused aspects of 2077 despite stuff suggesting they were going to have a much bigger role [like the whole unused militech building it has like interior space and all that but nothing] so id say night city has alot left to offer and the map can always expand out anyways if they sticked to the city i still think cyberpunk is night city like thats a huge thing about cyberpunk night city is like the sole thing that defines the series would be abit jarring to leave already we only had one game with it on a series that takes place with practically all its media in said city. and then ontop of all this stuff theres also still big events shaping up to happen like the 5th corpo war/rogue ai invasion or both at the same time would be crazy to see that. though to end this comment off i think it would be cool to see a new area but i think it should be atleast the 3rd or 4th game they make that does that

I always thought that the badlands would've utilized more but instead it's just bland, here's hoping that the sequel uses it better. I'd like it if they would increase the size of night city dramatically. Somehow it feels too "compact".

    • @ItsThyboBE
      @ItsThyboBE  Před 2 dny

      Yes and no I guess. It feels big enough for me but the badlands are too empty, it makes the map seem big while it’s not as big. The sequel definitely needs to use the badlands more and fill the frame

      @@ItsThyboBE I think that one of the main characters is the city itself. In my opinion, vastness and size of it is important for the narrative of the game. The individual starts as a nobody in a giant city and gradually gets to be a legend. Don't get me wrong, the game does make it look vast and during first playthrough when everything is new it appears like the giant hellscape it should be. And that also goes for the badlands, everything seems large. As you get more familiar with it, it feels a bit too small. Cannot really explain it, but for some reason really vast spaces have their own special atmosphere to me. I know it is not easy to replicate that in a game, but maybe some day.

    I like to think about it this way:
    If you look at Saints Row and Saints Row 2, the first game was okay. Taking place in Stilwater, the map was a fairly typical open world city with not too much going on.
    If you look at Saints Row 2 however, there is a minor time skip and the city was durastically updated, every district was distinct, had multiple unique interiors and shops added to every district, secret pathways and easter eggs littered every corner of the map. There were so many places they expanded upon that it felt like a completely different map.
    A second Cyberpunk could do the same with Night City, even if they kept the old map in its entirety, the possibility to open up these locked off buildings and cut locations is endless.

    • @G-DORA
      @G-DORA Před 6 dny

      For what I'd like to see in a second Cyberpunk, I played a GTA 5 mod called Los Santos Red, a complete overhaul of the systems in GTA 5 that turns it into a hardcore RPG survival game where you have to carefully prepare and consider each robbery as witnesses could report you, BOLO could apply to vehicles at the scene and cops responded realistically to every scene. You could buy safehouses and property, join gangs and progress up the ranks, kind of like a singleplayer GTARP? Anyway, it's a complete RPG experience.
      I'd love to see something like that for Cyberpunk. Maybe a loose main story goal for every character, akin to Fallout, but the way you get there is different every playthrough, similar to what we were promised pre-release.

    • @ItsThyboBE
      @ItsThyboBE  Před 6 dny

      That'd be sick tbh if they could do something similar. They probably have to rebuild most of it anyway due to switching engines so fingers crossed.

      @ItsThyboBE oh I forgot they were changing the engine. Yeah, with game engines, it depends. I think UE5 is a great all-rounder for many genres of games. I've only dabbled with UE4, so I don't have too much experience.
      Yeah, I didn't mind phantom liberty, It's a good send-off. Even though I think there's way more they should have improved upon before announcing plans of a sequel.

    Yeah I was about to clown you for not knowing this stuff until you mentioned being European. But Night City is on the west coast of the United States. Atlanta is in the state of Georgia which is on the east coast. And for those who don’t know how far that is apart it’s definitely more than 24 hours drive away. So yeah not close at all. Also Spider-Man quite famously takes place in NEW YORK CITY. NOT BOSTON! I mean I know you’re a European but that’s not a good enough excuse for that considering they say New York like 9200 times in the game, movies, tv shows, comics, and just about every thing Spider-Man related ever made!

      @@ItsThyboBE Think about all the buildings in Night City we can't enter. What about the underground? As time passes the City would likely experience urban sprawl and grow laterally, giving additional districts to explore (newly built for that game/Xpac). There's loads of ways to just keep improving on what's already built.

    I really loved the anime, maybe the could make the game about that? 🥲 or would that be bad? Also.. they need to step up the AI.. its Night City! I'll love to buy my apartment, have my garage have my flying craft aswell. Exploring and roaming around.. omg such potential what the Cyberpunk world has. For CyberPunk2077 on certain missions or places it felt like they wanted to make more of it but they just gave up on it. My vision for the CyberPunk world might never come im thinking a mixed between CyberPunk and GTA. Omg.. i could sit for hours and talk abour my vision for how i want a game like that to come true but sadly im afraid i won't get to see it.

    • @ItsThyboBE
      @ItsThyboBE  Před 5 dny

      I loved the anime too surprisingly so but I doubt they'd make a game out of it. It's a story that has been made in a different medium so I don't think they feel the need to rehash it again but in a game.
      You can have a vision for the next game with hopes, dreams and theories, I have them too and it helps a bit with the waiting but obviously it's also a curse just in case the game isn't what we expected. Let's just hope that by 2030, or whenever the game releases, that they've stepped it up big time and cyberpunk Orion is gonna be massive
