You guys rock. I enjoy my Atom and Dac 2 bundle a lot. Sadly i forgot to choose the engraving options before ordering it lol

Love the pairing of the ZMF x JDS Labs Homage amplifier and ZMF Atrium Open

There is a little extra tightness/punchiness in transients that I like on high gain with HD600. I'm mostly into hip-hop so that probably why.

      You thoughts?

@MuzdokOfficial - Good question. When you hear changes in sound signature at a different gain level, either the amplifier is behaving differently under the load, or your headphones and ears are responding differently due to a difference in volume (or a bit of both). The latter is fairly common. Check out equal-loudness contours, or Fletcher-Munsen curves: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal-loudness_contour
Atom Amp 2 performs the same at low and high gain. Not all amps do, though.
Less often discussed is the impulse response of a headphone driver. Impulse response is interrelated with THD and frequency response, but it is particularly interesting to consider because two headphone models could be EQ'ed to have the same frequency response and volume, yet still produce different sonic characteristics due to differences in impulse response. I'm not sure how headphone driver impulse response varies with volume/gain. ZMF may be able to comment further on this topic.

@@JDSLabsinc It must be the impulse response. Because I compared with the same loudness and same EQ settings and I know about loudness perceived difference. I also know your product is very transparent I'm using the 4.4mm plug and I know that it's going through the same circuit so no difference in sound neither with either plugs. Thank you for your answer 👌🏻 it must be headphones dependant. I'm not disappointed either way 😎
