A Virtual Tour of the Historic Auditorium Theatre

- This 20-minute mini-tour, hosted by Auditorium Theatre CEO Rich Regan, includes highlights from the full-length in-person Historic Tour. The Auditorium Theatre, designed by famed architects Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler, opened on December 9, 1889, and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1975. Historic Tours take patrons behind the scenes and view it as few do. The tour includes legendary accounts of how and why the theatre was built; stories of the many artists who graced its historic stage; and a closer look at the brilliant 24-karat gold-leafed ceiling arches, hundreds of Sullivan’s beautifully restored intricate stencil patterns, the stained glass muses at the entrance, and murals by Charles Holloway and Albert Fleury.

What a great tour! Thanks for doing the video. The Aud is so beautiful, I end up staring at my surroundings during performances. It elevates every performance, and I've been lucky enough to see Ai Weiwei, David Sedaris and Death Cab for Cutie there. You all put on a great calendar. Can't wait to go again!

EXCELLENT video ! l had the good fortune of seeing/hearing the Allman Brothers, the Pointer Sisters ( all 4 of them ) Ravi Shankar and Frank Sinatra there in the 1970's. FABULOUS acoustics ! l wish l had gone there a lot more back then !

I was a student at RU when the theater reopened and watched the NYC performance of Jewels from the upper gallery, where the sears were free to students.
tip to video editors. One or the other - background music or human narration - at the same time. Please note the word "or" that indicate the exercising of an option between alternatives. Both at the same time is a major PITA (translate freely).
A rare theatre survivor from the 1880s. Faithfully restored. Those front entrance stained glass artworks are amazing.
On a video production perspective, the presenter talking off camera most of the time is very disarming and disengaging with the viewer. Not a good idea.
