IIRC smash victory themes are for the whole series, not just the individual character. That said, you're 100% right, that would make such an excellent victory theme for Simon.
Yeah, I mean it is even _used as_ his actual victory theme in this game, so it would make perfect sense to use that track as his victory theme in other situations as well.
I don't know why game developers so often make those kinds of mistakes, like "hey, let's not use this track that is an obvious choice, let's use something else instead".
The snes sound chip was so ahead of its time. It sounds so good still so many years later. The music quality was so good.
yeah, i honestly can't believe there are people who argue the Genesis had the superior soundchip. I mean sure, maybe on a technical level the Genesis had a more powerful chip, but most Genesis music is so *sharp* - in an aural sense, not in terms of tone. That sharpness works for hard rock and metal tunes, but the SNES's sample based soundchip was just so much more versatile. It worked for orchestral scores, rock, ambient music, among other styles - the SNES probably has one of the richest soundtrack libraries of any video game console in history - *so* many of its soundtracks still hold up excellently, and they *rarely* (if ever) sound dated.

Even though I was born in 2004 I still grew up playing the Super Nintendo entertainment system since that was pretty much what my parents had at the time and boy am I glad I did.

One of the very few games where the boss music belongs to your character and the villain shits its pants when it plays.
Itâs the composer who creates the notes and, at the end of the day, the sound chip on the SNES was fantastic. This, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World are my favourite soundtracks on this system. Just shows how imagination and creativity trump technical limitations every time.
Mega Man X also has great soundtracks. My favorites are Spark Mandrill and Password screen.
It is surprising how close they managed to get the organ parts to sound like an Organ!
It's because the SNES used sample-based music, that is a real organ (though a low quality one)

The reason that "midi instrument" is a term is because people often record sounds intended for use with midi files since using actual instruments instead of audio samples is much harder to move around or adjust than simply altering a digital file.
With this in mind you are absolutely correct that this is a midi organ in terms of how people commonly use that term, but it was likely constructed using genuine organ audio samples, make sense?

1:07 to 1:15 has to be one of, if not, my favorite part of any SNES track, period. Definitely my favorite song out of any theme from the Castlevania franchise with the runners up being Vampire Killer and Bloody Tears respectively.

My favorite thing Castlevania did with its music was reuse the stage 1 theme, completely unaltered, for when the final boss was low on health. I liked it just as much as Rockman no Constancy reusing the exact title music for the final stage and the first Touhou game reusing the exact stage 2 theme for the credits.

When i first played this game, i was amazed how good the soundtrack is. It's almost close to a CD Quality music and it's coming from an 16 bit system.
Super Castlevania IV is one of those masterpieces that everyone should try. Easily one of the best "ClassicVania" games ever.

I love the pacing of this theme, the way the buildup rises as you walk towards your first enemy, and then the melody starts at 0:16, but it's not complete until you've finally beaten a few monsters, then the song at 0:32 becomes more upbeat to give you a sense of confidence, truly an incredible way to start a theme, and the rest of the song needs no explanation, because by then your already prepared to keep going in the game, the music is just your cheering crowd.
then 0:50 feels like your just feels like you verse a barrage of monsters
