Isn't Thanatos already there even before Minato gets his wild card ability, being it's sealed inside of him since he was six years old? Maybe he just wasn't strong enough to use it the first time since he was out for a week or so after his awakening. I mean, its base level is 60-something.
On the subject of ultimate Personas, I find Messiah to be very unique because it's the only one that has to be fused by plot. Both Satanael and Izanagi-no-Okami are obtained through the means of 11th-hour-superpower. To make Messiah all you had to do is fuse Orpheus and Thanatos together. You'd need some crazy prerequisites to fuse the other two. Which leads me to this: The Universe Arcana is Minato's 11th-hour-superpower. The thing isn't represented by a Persona, but by Minato himself.
In the movie the universe arcana is his 11th hour superpower because igor entrusted him with it to put an end to the chaos

There is an important distinction to be made as well that, unlike other gods we can kill in the games, Nyx did not came to be from humanity's collective unconscious. Rather, the collective unconscious only exists because of her basically. So she is in another whole level.

Messiah is honest favorite, it’s not a overpowered god that is giving to you by all your friends and family’s voices fused into the ultimate being but rather true amalgamation of both sides of makoto, Thanatos and Orpheus, two oxymorons that come together to help fight against death it’s self, but it also resembles makoto the most, it looks like him and that’s what he can best be linked too
I can’t explain why but it feels more inline to what a persona should be, a reflection of the true self. Messiah is makotos willingnesss to sacrifice himself for the world, and that makes him a messiah and he’s persona only reflects that mentality

Say what ya want but Makoto Yuki is still the strongest persona protag. Obtaining the universe arcana means your power can rival Philemon and Nyarlathotep. Neither p1, p2is, nor p2ep protags could've defeated Nyarlathotep in solo. On top of that Nyx isn't like Yaldy, Izanami, Nyarlathotep, or Enlil that were born from collective thought. She is an almighty being thus cannot be defeated but Makoto while yes sacrificing his own life, defeated the undefeatable in solo

Marco Caixeta imo in terms of symbolism Messiah has them beat, in terms of looks it's between izanagi no Okami and satanael, however messiahs magic would not be beat by either of them with magic skill up (without dlc ect)
By symbolism I mean Akira becomes Satan, Yu becomes a truth seeking god, BUT YA BOI BECOMES JESUS, his persona signifies his own mastery over life and death and how the fate of humanity is truly on his hands

Though ren got the world arcana. Satanael is still considered the fool arcana. Yet he is the second son of god, he is also the true form of chaos and freedom.
The only reason people feel minato to be superior it is cuz he made a bigger sacrifice, if same thing ended up with ren he would also be considered similar to minato.
I see no real proof or feat to consider satanael or messiah to be considered superior over nother besides the end plot.

I only bring this up because some people are saying satanael isn't that strong because he killed a false god well you know what I just said. The Universe Arcana is just a means to an end, nothing more. It doesnt make you omnipotent like Igor implies nor is Nyx the unbeatable entity everyone thinks she is. Pinncale of the Death Arcana she might be, she's still an archtype. And all archtypes are fragments of Nyarlathotep and Philemon, who have been defeated before in the past. Defeating Nyx is not impossible nor is it impossible to surpass the Universe Arcana by normal means.

The collective unconscious only exists because Nyx crashed on Earth a long time ago when primitive life was still developing, she is stronger than those two and cannot be truly defeated. As cool as all the other ultimate persona's are Satanael is my favorite even if it's not the best. Seriously from the design alone it's one of my favorites but right now I'm on my third playthrough of 5 and I'm doing it with him alone (Once I could buy him of course) and it's been a blast tearing through the game with him.

Yu and Makoto literally can't be killed during the final showdown of their game, and Makoto could also use Joker's personas in Reload, Yu would probably be able to do the same when we got P4 remake.
Satanael might win at first but messiah would actually win because sinful shell only happens once if 100% people believes phantom thieves but then satanael would shrink and lose

Orpheus Telos makes sense from a gameplay-perspective to be Makoto's ultimate Persona, however Messiah is story-wise way more fitting

At the end of the game and in the anime
dont have an awakening scene...except in the anime....bether said.....is awakening we call a Holy Fusion. By now....in the anime Orpheus and Thanatos fused together(this is the first time we saw a fusion in the movie.....normally Igor do the fusions....and compared with Narukami...he need the evoquer). Orpheus is the master of strings....the representation of the life and Thanatos the greek god of death.....Messiah is the representation of resurection....what in fact...reveales the true purpose of Makoto Yuki....charge with the wealth of the humanity and save them. Izanagi no Okami represents the origin of everithing...when the world was created and Satanael....the representation of who rebels againts the injust destiny and make their own path. As Morgana said....if a god plays naughty.....a demon lord must punish him.
Imma just gotta drop this here. Izanagi-no-Okami tho, depending where you live, cannot be compared to Messiah or Satanael. He's considered to be the Original God--the one who gave birth to countless myriad of gods, goddesses, islands, and human, thus you may say he's equal to another Supreme Deities from various believes and religions. He's the genesis of living beings under the heavens. So stop comparing the Protags. Yu's mop the floor with the rest of both.
Anybody can create a Religious God and claim that their God has created another’s “God” that doesn’t hold any weight. Im fine with the Mc’s being equal and all. The main thing is that they all had the right tool set to deal with the “Gods” that they faced. Whatever it may be.
Izanagi No Okami is A god but Messiah IS god and Satanael is a destroyer of gods, I think Yu would beat Joker but to say he’d beat Makoto/Minato is jus ignorant

its wrong because these things arent even actual gods they're personas not to mention these things are based upon religions and what not, that cant be connected. Like iznanagi being the creator of all gods such as Satanel and The Messaiah.
