Some Asians do have faster metabolism and appear as if they can eat whatever they want and not gain weight. However, I wish the cultural perception of skinny equals healthy would stop. How skinny someone is is not an absolute indicator of how healthy a person's actual body is. There are also people who look heavier but they aren't skinny not because they eat too much junk food but because they have preexisting health conditions that cause weight gain.

A couple of years ago I started working at a korean restaurant...Believe it or not I learned the wok like that, I couldn't figure out the proper movements the chef was doing so I just closed my eyes and listened to the rhythm.

Seems there's a concern about the amount of oil 😂 This is STREET food. 90% of Korean's diets consist of steamed vegetables, kimchi, soups and hot tea. This is no different than when you get the craving for a donut and all the sudden you throw down on a dozen Krispy Kreme 🤷🏻♀️

It's not too hard TBH. You can practice on something dry, like Raw rice or beans. Wok is the best, but any bowl-shaped pan with a rounded base would do. The movement you want to do is not up-down, but rather forward-back rapidly. If you want to have a steady, constant flipping, you can also flip by making the move in an horizontal-ovular manner. But most important thing is to not overload the pan, else flipping would be hard.
