Missed opportunity to make the prank funnier. Had her come back and take the new dog like it was the same all along and walk away. This will confuse the pranked even more.

I would of thought the “tourists” were con artists and that they stole the dog (although it would not make sense to me why they would switch him for another one in the process) and I would call the cops and go after them myself so that they won’t get away.
