As someone who rarely drinks and doesnât really enjoy it, itâs fucking shit being British sometimes. Peer pressure to get fucked is properly grim and makes being a rare/non-drinker very difficult. Having someone like tobi online who doesnât drink is really fucking cool to me

The best part of being sober but still being able to go on nights out with mates is being able to have fun but also make sure everyone else has fun but is also safe. There's nothing better than seeing your mates having the time of their lives

I donât get why people have such a problem when someone says they donât drink, like itâs a bad thing ?
"It's not meant to be in my body", I've never phrased it like that for me before but that's actually bang on. For me I don't feel it needs to be in my body either, I'm not missing out, don't feel that I want to drink it, I just know I don't need it. Really loved that line!
Iâm the exact same as Tobi, when Iâve tried it I donât mind it at all but I donât really see the appeal of it at all personally.

You don't need alcohol, life is far better without it. For some reason, society tells us that we need to drink to have fun, but the reverse is actually true.
Living sober is completely free of charge, and it gives you the best natural high that far surpasses the short-term anesthetizing effect of alcohol. Plus there are no hangovers, no risk of drink driving, no alcohol-induced depression/anxiety, no risk of missing work due to being hungover and you get a shit load of free time and early mornings to do beneficial things like cycling, hiking, weight training, swimming, etc.
I only know this because I wasted a lot of my 20s getting drunk and high, so have first-hand experience of the shitty negative effects of drinking. Sobriety is a much more rewarding way to live life. But this is merely an opinion.

You wouldnt drink In the morning or the night before work and if you wanted to wake up early then you can just not drink the previous night but that doesent mean life is awful if you drink on other nights, if you get a good balance then it wont affect much

Fair play to those who can balance that lifestyle, I wish I could, but for some reason cannot, so it has to be sobriety. Everyones different. Some people can smoke weed and be super productive, others have panic attacks and anxiety. So I guess the key is finding out what works for the individual.

I feel Tobi on this. I hate drinking, or I hate being drunk I guess. Getting a little tipsy I don't mind, but it's when I start acting different that I don't like it. I don't feel like myself and just end up being embarrassed about everything I did or said the day after. Only been drunk 3 times, regret every single instance.

Im the same as this guy. I don't see the appeal in drinking and never have but the one time I decided to join a proper drinking sesh with vodka, gins and whiskey involved, I didnt get fucked up like everyone else around me. I just had that "light feeling" that tobi described. When everyone noticed that I wasn't pissed still, they kept forcing me to take shots one after another and that's when I ened up vomiting.

My group of mates do it a lot to each other, more so back then than now as we're all grown up but there's the occasional "Ugh, really?" moment.
