If you guys are serious about watching part 2 for next years Christmas, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT refreshing your memory on this movie AT ALL. You’ll thank me when you watch it lmao
I second this comment! 😂
Yeah when they thought THIS one showed too much from the beginning, my first thought was “oh they shouldn’t watch part 2 then” lmao
You’re a good one for this; solid advice.
I remember when this movie came out theatrically in 1984, it caused such a controversy. They pulled it after a week or two. The religious people were acting like this movie was going to be the Apocalypse.😂
These days those same religious people are losing their shit over drag queens reading books to kids
That outrage painted the movie in a strange way too. I remember trying to find a copy of it in the early 2000s & thought that the outrage caused the studio to ban copies of it being distributed. Then I had to spend money on a double feature DVD of part 1 & 2 that was nearly out of print.
🎄at 11:58 the way the man give that look at him 'hapa hapa',♂♂why the serial killer need to be so handsome sexy muscle💪hunk damn the director
Such a stupid move by the studio. The controversy would driven ticket sales through the roof.
'The movie people tried to ban but failed because... Santa Claus is coming to town *axe swing*'@@jxchamb
I disagree with you guys saying the story is bad. And the criticism of not showing his backstory.
It's obvious the story was talking about trauma of someone in very young age. It's a tragic story actually.
I agree with the whole bad acting and bad execution and scenes. But the story, especially for it's time was legit ahead of its time.
Also, "Warm Side Of The Door" is one of the greatest Christmas songs ever. There's so much to love in the world this film.
You've got to see the second one.. I say that unironically, knowing that it dedicates a large portion to flashbacks to the first one.
That aspect is admittedly tedious, but once you get over that, it's hilarious.. *and* you get to see Mother Superior's comeuppance.
The killer in the second one is the brother (no surprise) and his performance is the definition of "so bad it's good." He's hilarious 😂
Just watched it, i and you guys ( from Cinema Rules ), had/have to fast forward for like 40 minutes, wth!
No seriously...: The first 40 minutes are just a total recap of the first movie, Ritchie telling it all to some psych
Filmbro types never seem to really get exploitation movies. All the more for us that do though. Silent Night Deadly Night is a classic.
followers of this channel should've known that these filmdorks weren't gonna like this one. "Too many boobs!" oh, nooooooooooo!
You guys should see "Christmas Evil" a.k.a. "You Better Watch Out". An odd psychological Christmas film about a guy who believes he's Santa.
I agree, just saw that for the first time this year. Like Silent Night Deadly Night, it's shoddy but I quite enjoyed it.
21:26 - Oh boy. Now you guys get to experience the unifying power of "GARBAGE DAY!".
Lol!

A true naughty, Christmas classic.
Opened the same week as Nightmare On Elm St and actually made more more money that week. But due to protests of the film, the studio pulled it out of theaters shortly afterwards.
This movie scared me as a kid. Now I think it's god awful, but in a cheesy fun sort of way. That, and Billy is probably the cutest slasher from the 80s :)
Legendary Scream Queen Linnea Quigley is in this movie
Some context: have watched maybe 20 of your vids here and there and they always bring joy and good vibes.
If neither of you comment on the hunk-status of the killer grown-up/as a 20 something, this will officially end my debate over which side of the fence you prefer.
Linnea Quigley is forever. ❤️
I’m happy you guys watched this film and gave it an honest chance. Though not everybody’s cup of tea considering it’s at times flimsy execution, Silent Night Deadly Night is one of my favorite slasher films for one crucial reason and that it tries to make you feel sympathy for both killer and victim. Nearly none of the people Billy kills deserve their brutal fates over either juvenile behavior or minor to non existent infractions (though the co-worker who tries to get too hands on with the female employee deserved a good punch to the face). Then you have Billy himself, who is a victim to one tragic circumstance after another while being brought up under the dreadful Mother Superior who shows no regard to his fragile and shattering mental state (Lilyan Chauvin did however sell alpha b*tch nun quite well and it’s sad she didn’t return for Part 2).
Overall, most people when they think of this series often go for Part 2 for all the memes associated with Eric Freeman and GARBAGE DAY. That said, the first should at least be seen at least once on its own to get the story without all the delightfully cringeworthy stuff synonymous with Part 2. It is at its core trying to be a serious and tragic tale, and I’m happy y’all gave people a chance to revisit it and even discover it this holiday season with your video. Here’s to the upcoming year, and to what great things y’all have in store. 😊

@@preminsta8630 It’s funny how no matter how many reactions/reviews of this film I’ve seen, someone watching it always reacts that very same way to seeing adult Billy. 😂
@@anima_96x7 💯i have seen youtubers movies reaction always say about the appearence of adult billy intro
This has always been one of my favorite slashers. I love that you get to know the killer for the first half until he finally snaps.
At the risk of sounding pretentious, I actually think the idea of the story is deeper than you might realise. It's Just not executed very well..
Here me out. I think the whole moral is about how you handle raising a kid with traumatic emotional issues.
And even how you raise kids in general.
It might sound obvious to say that Mother Superior's methods were cruel and abusive, but that's actually how a lot of kids were treated in that environment. In old Catholic schools, nuns would routinely strike children for the slightest thing.
Obviously the insighting incident is the parent's murder, but it's how Mother Superior chose to deal with it that actually turned him into a monster.
What she did to "help" him actually Just reinforced his association with Santa and punishment, to the point that he became psychotic.
Then when he's put into the Santa suit and then sees an assault, he literally sees himself as that embodiment and it pushes him over the edge.
Well since you guys have done this movie you need to do the 2nd movie as well.
The second one is really the one to watch. They play the first movie in the first half hour as a flashback, and then it goes ridiculous.
Shout out to Linea Quigley (girl in the antleers) for having the best rack in horror movie history.
Hilarious reaction, you guys had me in hysterics throughout.
Have a great Christmas Tom & Shaun your channel & content is entertaing awesomeness.
The sequel is worse & half of it is flashbacks of this movie.
I can't help but love it.
"Was that necessary?" "No." The unofficial motto of this movie
I really want your reaction to Part 2. And by that, I mean I want to see if you can sit through the entirety of Part 2. It may raise your opinion of this movie drastically.
How about a rewatch of the "Star Wars Christmas Special" to see if you lads might have a different perspective on it, now that you've had some time to digest it. I, for one, miss Lumpy, who is probably one of the most underrated characters in the Star Wars cinematic universe. And as always, please don't forget to "stir, whip, stir, whip, whip, whip stir"! Happy Christmas to you both!
If you do end up watching part 2, I cannot WAIT to see your reaction lmao if you thought this one was hard to get through… 😅
Personally I like this one quite a bit, but then I love a good B/exploitation movie. They don’t really seem to be your guys’ bag though. No judgment, they’re definitely not for everyone.
I got that movie on Blu-ray last year and it was the grandest Christmas gift around. However when this flick it’s so controversial that Coca-Cola banned that flick in theaters. I never seen that trailer in that time but however it did got broadcasted during the football game made the mothers gone berserk. I don’t give a 💩what parents saying that flick, I still loving this flick. Merry Christmas to you, gents. 🎄🎁🎅🎄🎁🎅
Many thanks to Tom and Shaun! 🥶 Not much to say about this one... except that it happened. There are actually over 70 titles on Charles E. Sellier Jr.'s resume. Many of them are space alien or religious themed. A handful are rated rather high compared to SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT (1984). He mysteriously died in 2011.
Happy Christmas guys! 😇🎄🎅❄️🎁🎉🎊⛄
I remember been around 12 and bing the whole series of these. Weird the things I get nostalgic about. Theres a little clip of Tarantino talking about this movie on CZcams you might be intrested in.
The old nun is in predator 2, she plays the scientist lady who test the metal of the predators projectile
I can't get Red Letter Media's review out of my head.....lol

He guys merry Christmas to you both and your loved ones
And thanks for the videos you're commenting always makes me laugh
I hope you guys watch Silent Night Deadly Night 2, it's become a staple to watch every year in my home because it's absolutely ridiculous 😂
You guys have to watch the new movie Saltburn. Crazy movie this year.
This film is great and the sequel
The woman impaled on the deer horns played Trash in The Return of the Living Dead.
She’s such a hottie.
Hierarchy doesn't necessarily mean not equal. Any organization needs leadership to run properly. Doesn't matter if it's religion or a company or anything haha. Sorry just had to answer the question.
Merry CHristmas to you guys. This film was ok, skip the sequel which if you thought THIS one was lazy, the sequel is 30 minutes of THIS movie with another 40 minutes tacked on
Totally rad reaction!
This is not the greatest horror movie by any stretch but it has it's honorable place in the horror movie pantheon.
I agree with y'all about how certain parts of the movie could have been left out but the kills are fun!
It's not a movie I put on regular rotation, even during the holidays but every now and then it's a fun watch.
I'd rate this movie 6.5
Keep up the great reactions and happy holidays to you and yours.
you should do Jaws
Gotta watch the second one now 😅
I just watched this! Really enjoyed it as a good shlocky part of film history but I’ve also sat through a lot of schlock so maybe it’s better if your used to it 🤣
I just listened to the We Hate Movies podcast where this movie was the topic. I'd never heard of it before or rhe controversy. Of course I was 9 but I do remember Freddy Krueger coming out that year too. The guys said they pulled it from theatres so I guess that's why I nevee heard of it.
You thought this one was bad wait till you see the sequels
I’d like to see you guys watch the remake!!
Great movie (within the context of the genre)
Leaving out your reaction to the Deer Antler scene with the Ultimate Scream Queen Linnea Quigley is the ultimate travesty! You guys don't even mention it in the wrap up! lol (guys I mean that in jest, although it's one of the main Scenes people USUALLY bring up)... That scene is Perfect Slasher Exploitation Sleaze.
It's exploitation with a simple plot. Although if you were abused as a youngster I could see Billy's early motivation as a kid resonating. Maybe it was too ugly to get enjoyment out of it when the "SLASHER" aspect of the movie kicks is. But yes the Melodrama in-between the kills I can see some finding slow.
I love movie montages
Isn’t the grandpa from Back to the Future?
Yes, it’s the late Will Hare.
Slasher classic!
Going by this reaction, you guys will ish for the first half of part 2…
Silent night 2 is.. something. 3 and 4 are totally insane, 5 is quite good
Search "Garbage day" (SLDN 2) and you've seen the best scene of the sequel. lmao
Shoulda been titled Silent Night Garbage Day. Don't waste your time after suffering thru this.
The thing is that to fully appreciate this film, we must be a real slasher fan. We know how bad slasher films can be, but we still like them anyway. 😂
What a shocking opening, I give it best movie of all time
What did they do to get that kid to cry, really
The sad part is this film is the best of the series. This film is bad…naughty 😂 I do appreciate how thoughtful your reactions were. My rating is a 1.5 and I live for B-films. Still enjoyed your reactions 😎
We all wanted the nun to die
You guys do good critiques. Handsome too. :-)
😂epic 🤶
Funny you didn’t show the deer antler death scene.
That whole scene in the house is awesome and hilarious.
They need to check out the 2012 remake which is much better.
You guys were just hating on this movie, to be Fair this was the 80s it has this cheesey classic horror vibe to it, and when this movie came out I heard it was very controversial Santa Claus a killer😢 considering the past couple of years some movies in the 21st you think they would be better but some of them are not so at least give this one a little cardit . and take one 🎬acion 📽️📼📺 lil joke 🙂👍🏾
Classic :D
I think Tom and Sean Billy's grandfather can go in and out of that state by will. He went out to give Billy the warning about Santa and back in again. For him it's like when you sleep except he's perfected that state to a science. Another explanation is he can go into that state and has the ability to Astral project himself in and out of his body and knew they were coming by that way. Some people have the gift 6:58 Guys he is a thief a murderer and no doubt a rapist and he would had killed Billy and then shot or slashed the throat of his baby brother and the reason? HE WANTED THEIR CAR. One scene later on has me wanting Billy vs Green Arrow because wow he shoots a bow like a pro. I wonder whos more skilled with a bow and arrow between the 2?
So you're saying that the Grandfather could project himself to the warm side of the door?
Oh man you guys are spoiled on amazing material its time for the z grade sludge that is iconic
⛄ 🔪
You think this is bad? Part 2 makes this look like an Oscar winner. The acting is 1,000 times worse. The repurposing of footage from part 1 are unforgivable. Part 2 is unbelievably worse.
czcams.com/video/zuOmSsnUqiM/video.html may I ask what name of the movie in video
Description what year is
12:04 damn, Billy grew up to be real pretty! I saw this movie when I was like 7 and it probably led to my
being attracted to mentally ill muscle guys! Why are all the pretty ones always insane? sigh...
I only recently saw this movie and I wasn’t a fan either
Pure trashy 80’s slasher fun. Not a movie to be taken seriously. If this movie was well acted etc, it would not be as good, it’s pure exploitation and that’s what makes it wonderful.
This movie is garbage. By which I mean it’s a perfect slasher.
This was one of the mist controversial films in history. People were protesting outside of cinemas for weeks.
A bad movie,boring😢
Check out Mutant-1984 and Deathship-1980+Santa Claus-The Movie-1985.
You guys are so ignorant. It's definitely an A movie if so many people like it.
We’re not ignorant if we have our own opinion on a film, it would be you who is ignorant if you trash us because of our own views/opinions haha
