- This little mission out to sea for a snapper then on to Rabbit Island was the biz. A yummy coconut cream & Lemon fish salad to end break my fast, and tie up another fun fishing mission.

Thats the one mate. I guarantee if you look hard enough you will find a little magic right where you live. When I was working in Frankfurt city in German I built a hut right next to the Main river in the heart of the city. I am not sure how legal it was but on a winters Christmas day I made a fire outside my hut and we roasted 4 chickens on it and then toasted marshmallows for dessert. I had gypsies and street kids and complete strangers stop by while I sung and played the harmonica. We ate and laughed and pretty soon someone pulled out a bottle of whiskey and that was my first Christmas alone away from home in NZ. The point of telling the story is that it does not matter where you live. In almost most cases you can make something good happen.

@@ClayTallStories nothing wrong with a little bit of the devils lettuce, although I live in a place where it is now legal. Illegal operations can cause damage to the area espicially from gorilla growers. I personally am allowed 4 plants which is plenty for personal use.
Do you think people are cultivating it when you come across it in the hills or is it just local landrace strains naturally growing? Also is cannabis illegal or is it decriminalized in NZ and as an afterthought can your buddy ship those boats to Canada?

Farout $1600 for the blowup raft or whatever you said it's called, that's not bad at all!! Then $600 for your motor $2200 all up, awesome!! Can't complain with that relatively inexpensive to get out on water having fun!! Considering I've seen some pretty basic sea kayaks about that price range and can Sky Rocket from there. I do miss the ocean, being land locked, bout 50min to closest beach and 80 min to the closest "nice" beach. Cheers Clay!!

Watching make the raw snapper in lemon & coconut cream reminds of Christmas, every Xmas my uncle makes that's exact dish. Good memories and Xmas only just round the corner so now doubt I'll be enjoying some of that in about 6 weeks!! Enjoy Clay!!

Hey mate, new here from Australia. I just started fishing in an inflatable and first fish I was catching in the yak were snapper too. Also keto minded.
Nice going mate. Be careful on keto. I did 3 years keto one meal a day and ended up with heart disease. Managed to halt and even reverse it after 20 months of a whole food plant based diet. Keto is good short term for fixing issues but just treat as that. Good luck with the fishing

My favourite way to eat Silver Trevally but I put red onion in it also, I use Ayam Pure Coconut Cream with the green label, 100% pure coconut cream & sooo good :)

Really good video. I'm actually thinking for getting a nifty boat as well to spice things up. I noticed that you put a plywood floor in it. How does it perform without the floor? Do you think it would be stable enough to stand up in it on a calm day?
The floor it to stop the snapper spines puncturing the under floor. Not stable enough to stand up in although I have done it but would not recommend it

No fire, well if you catch a nice Caraway, you will not need a fire.
Most places in Scotland groundbaiting is not allowed and you can't use fresh prawns for catching salmon also u can't use wild UK salmon roe in Scotland that's illegal some guy's take the risk and use it thats up to them. nice snapper caught clay mate

Nice one Clay, ashame you didn't put a recipe card for that fish salad, I gonna have to watch the Vid again. I don't know what UK fish would be similar to the koeye or snapper,but that salad made me think of doing a different fish salad to my normal tuna, pilchard or mackerel I do for work. You're on the south island aren't you? A workmate of mine retired to Mangawhai on the north island about 10 years ago.

Wow, I didn’t realise that the size limit for you in the Marlborough sounds area is only 25cm for snapper. That needs to be increased I think.. up here on the east coast it’s 30cm and west coast it’s 27cm and I recon that’s still too small, we take em at 35cm on our boat unless fishing is super tough
Its because you get much bigger snapper up north. Our dont get so big.

Serious question about the boat Clay. It looks very narrow. How’s the stability. Do ya feel like you’re going to tip over. Probably not good in rougher sea’s. You look very stable amazingly!!!

I want one ! Is it stable on windy days .. I want to put a 30 lbs trolling motor . I can't scare the fish I need to troll..
Stable as mate. I run a 3.3 Hp on mine but I think it would handle a 30lb electric
