Automatic handguns are just too easy! 😊🔫
Not to mention their general impracticality.
People overlook broadswords cus they aren't mainstreamed, despite their surprising amount of techniques, they are depicted as being cumbersome hulking pieces of meta,l it's akin to how Knight armor is seen as hefty, but insanely durable.
The latter by the way is half true and that's being generous. Obviously sword slashes aren't gonna put much of a dent on it, especially due to its rounded shape beyond the joints causing deflection, but the material is aluminium, which on one hand isn't the malleable shit you get in aluminium sheets, but also is far from Invincible. I actually had the privilege to handle Aluminium slabs in radiation labs and they are surprisingly hefty and unyielding to flexural tests. That said, their cross sectional thickness was too large and further from Knight armor to serve as an example, meaning that potentially the only thing capable of going toe to toe with knight armor would be a Cranequin Crossbow, which are infamously slow to reload, about a minute I think. That said, their draw weight is a whopping 180 kilograms while regular crossbows which used a mix of body weight and arm strength to pull, were roughly a quarter of that.
Katanas also have techniques but because of their design, they need them to be remotely usable, lest it just embarrassingly bounces off an unarmored target like some magic trick at your expense.
@@artyom2801 literally any European sword is better than a Japanese one
Rapier beats the shit out of it
The Japanese were hampered by the availability of iron ore. They were effectively using smithing techniques that the Celts used prior to the Viking Age. Everyone else called it pattern welding. It certainly looks nice, but is the telltale sign of a smith making do with shit raw material. Clinging to this tradition is a terrible idea if you get better materials to work with.

Against a guy with remote control missiles? Revolvers would be extremely impractical and ludicrous to use when there are far better choices of weapon, even if they’re not quite as worthless as a katana (unless you happen to be a cyborg ninja).

If only Liquid knew that Ocelot has more daddy issues with Big Boss then he does. Heck he only loves revolvers so much cos Boss told him they might suit him better after kicking his butt once. And the comment about revolvers was a throw away line from Boss anyway but Ocelot adapted it and his own person mantra. He even changed his name.

The sheer legitimacy of this video makes you feel like it was an actual cutscene. The voice acting, the cut away. This is a

Even the way the audio cuts out during the transition from footage to game engine was accurate.
Not only did you aim for the authentic PS1 graphics, but you aced the feel of the PS1 animations -- for the more subtle gestures, anyway. Also, the live footage cutscene, complete with the video transitions, was absolute gold. This video truly warrants a Big Boss ranking!

I don't remember PS1 animations looking like this. Perhaps I haven't played MGS in awhile but I remember the animation looking more rag-doll like. Ocelot's movements in this are bit over the top in my opinion.
