Anyone notice the interesting grip he utilizes during the fast ride cymbal parts? And also how quickly he changed from “traditional matched” to his new grip? I can easily see the finger control he’s achieving. Very interesting and cool.
Surely, Mike Mangini and Mike Portnoy should react to this masterpiece... I think they would would also be impressed and this clearly shows that hardwork pays off....

In many of his videos, this seems to be the case.
He uses a really cool hybrid single/double pedal. It has double beaters and can be triggered to have one going or both.
Not here, it’s a single pedal.

He's extremely clean, however he'll most likely have injuries from playing in the future since he grips it quite firm, so all that vibration is going straight to his muscles. Carpal tunnel and all that is a possibility here

I know this vid is a year ago! But I don't know if u noticed when he goes up to that upper ride or crash symbol he places the stick between his index and middle finger? Have no clue as to why he does this but I've noticed on a couple other vids as well?!!
It is a matter of angles. Pay atention. this guy is a master when it is about motion. His movements are measured by the milimeter. Pay attention at where is the cynbal he hits with the clawn grip. If he did it in a traditional fashion and at that speed, with the arm so straight, the movement would be forced, his muscles would be very tense and kinda moving in a non natural way. Now, if he does this, the group of muscles used for it is even diferent. Just try it, extend your arm straight in front of your face with the traditional grip and do the movement, you will notice tension all over your arm even if you just try to move the wrist, specially at the elbow. Now try the same movement but with the clawn posture for your hand.. you will notice how your elbow wont receive such tension anymore. This allows the arm to do its thing more relaxed. They use this grip for speed, control and to avoid cramps as far as i know.
I believe this drummer considered the best drummer in the world for heavy-metal, progressive rock

FYI: His name translates to The Siberian Steppe. Why a Spaniard chose that name, I have no idea, but that's what El Estepario Siberiano translates to.

He is like a bodybuilder that state that they don't take steroids. This guy 3x speeded up his videos to make it look cool. He ONLY has a Snare and Tom-Tom? So where's double bass coming from? I think he pre-recorded his drum solo and added some stuff in there then replayed it to trick everybody?
Or maybe just pay attention to his tom and footwork when he does the double bass? But hey it is much easier to just assume and pass judgement without acknowledging the work people put in to get to where there are.
