Tracking of Kin was predominantly done at guitarist Zach Householder’s home studio with producer Mark Lewis producing his fifth straight Whitechapel album, making for a very comfortable working environment. “Creating records with him has an effortless flow to it, and we can track things pretty quickly and efficiently these days,” says Wade. “Mark has a great ear for giving us unique and complementary guitar and drum tones for the songs we are trying to record.” The tracks were then sent off to David Castillo at Ghostward Studios in Sweden for mixing, with Ted Jensen mastering it in Nashville, TN. Now, having another album they can be as proud of as its predecessor, it stands them in good stead as they look toward the future. “I see more growth and a limitless potential,” says Wade. “I think we found a great formula on ‘The Valley’, and we used that to create another monumental record for our career that I can’t wait for people to hear. We hope to continue to grow our fanbase with this new album, and always seek to move in a positive direction. I’m excited as the pandemic lessens for the touring world to come back to life and to be able to perform these massive songs we have created in the manner they were meant to be heard - live and loud.”
Whitechapel line-up:

Love the orange cymbal felts.
YES! Get that man over 100k subs! he's so damn close
Legit one of the best metal drummers around 🤘
Just check Oki fadlan(jasad band. Song : siliwangi) drumming performance.. 👍
Lmao ! I thought this was Alex's channel . I am old what can I say =)
So happy Alex has taken over permanently...dig his style. It fits perfectly
Totally
but no ones been able to replicate kevin lane. his style was best
@@Raksh95 that’s entirely subjective.
Oh well if you dig it then he can stay 🙄
@@Raksh95 I would say Alex style fits a lot better in the direction whitechapel is going.
That cymbal work was nuts!!! Rudi is the man!
Now this is how to crush a metal song and not overplay. Very well composed, powerful parts. So good.
People can complain about how simple their three guitar "attack" is (I agree) but this is why drums are so important and Rudi always brings the heat. Very excited for the record!
Those who are complaining can't even play guitar lol
Man I think they played well together like a 3 headed dog named Cerberus
"God, why would they have 3 guitars" said the guy who later said "Hey man, did you queue up the backing track with the guitar intro and leads on the laptop?"
If you can’t understand why they have three guitars and how much of a difference it makes you obviously don’t understand music at all 😂
I never understood that sort of elitism, for lack of better word. It’s not about how complex or simple it is; it’s not whether you have 1 guitarist or 3 (or whether your drummer is using a 3-piece kit or a Neil Peart style monster kit)…it’s about how you use those elements to create a composition, and the quality of the composition.
That’s why one of my favorite guitarists is Adam Jones from TOOL. In no way is he a flashy guitarist (though undoubtedly he writes/plays very complex guitar tracks), but dammit that guy kills it in TOOL.
Dude I feel like I've watched Whitechapel go through four or five drummers now, you guys never cease to impress very good playthrough.
Kit sounds amazing, some really well written parts too that perfectly compliment the piece
The kicks have that perfect thud and attack. Cuts through steel
I'm digging these playthrough of the new album
ME TOO!!!!!
Never disappointed when this beast sits behind the drumkit. The sound is sick and only superseded by the incredible playing. Really happy for him being a permanent Whitechapel member now ❤️
Agreed
The first time I heard Rudy's playing was for the Conquering Dystopia album. I thought it was a drum machine.
Then I saw him play Prelude To Obliteration. It blew my mind!
He is one of the best drummers alive today.
Cheers from France! 🍻
@@DarthWinterMadness oh man I agree that song is so badass... I hope he continues to do side projects like that... I'm sure he will
As amazing as his playing is, i cant get over how fucking awesome the orange details on the kit looks. Am i the only one?
Yeah I think you are the only one.
Nah you’re definitely not the only one, I think it looks pretty rad.
Granted it’s a cool idea but those “details” are just felts dude.
I've done the same on mine, at least on the cymbals. Attention to detail fits Rudi to a T
Literally didn't notice until I read this, and this is my 3rd time basking
After so many years following Rudinger, happy to see him with Whitechapel. 👍👍👍👍
It blows my kind some times, how a group of dudes create these amazing arrangements of sound for people to take in.
I like Whitechapel, but I’ve been a huge loyal fan of Alex Rüdinger since he was a middle school kid with long hair. With that being said (not hating on Whitechapel’s music) this play through doesn’t scratch what this guy can do. Go to his channel and you’ll be amazed of how profesional, precise and good he is. I consider him top 3 metal drummers out there. Underrated for his talent.
They are just paying the bills
We already know him. And I think this is good work too..
agreed, he's truly one of the very best
Yeah the album he made with Intronaut was honestly way better than his Whitechapel stuff. And the whitechapel stuff isnt bad either so thats saying something
Any Whitechapel fan who plays or merely appreciates drumming is already subscribed to Alex’s channel. Whilst this track isn’t as technical as some of his playthroughs (especially the works he wrote personally) it still showcases his otherworldly ability. Definitely one of the best but “top 3” is a huge call.
I’m dying to hear the rest of this album!!!!!!!
Been waiting for this! The drums on this track, is so amazing!
I don't know where this dude lives but there must be something in the tapwater there, beyond human performance
you should check out his YT, unreal drummer
Always appreciated the prominence and complexity of the cymbal work Whitechapel does on the drums
Alex is seriously one of my favorite metal drummers. He is so clean with everything he does 🖤🤘So stoked he's part of Whitechapel now and I'm ready to hear the rest of the new album 🤘🤘
Could watch him all day, strangely relaxing aswell probably cos he just makes it look so easy !
At first I didn’t realize how intricate the cymbal work was in the chorus. Dope ass playthrough great drummer
This is just such an awesome performance! So precise, heavy and overall flawless. He is the GOAT
Uff. So chunky, this just feels good in the bones. I love heavy handed drummers, great job man. Well done.
This drum audio is incredible, and the cymbal work is pure genius
i honestly dont understand how anyone could dislike this, this is mastery at work
Love the energy
Gotta always love music and the people who make it I swear that's one of the biggest reasons why I started to play it and just being able to make something on your own and call it yours just is the best feeling ever especially if it gives people the chills 😊
Amazing drumming as always with this guy! Also, I've always liked the band's guitar tone but something about the tone on these past two songs is extra spicy to me. Loving it.
It’s the breakdown it keeps gravitating me back to this video at least 2 or 3 times every week, your addictive to watch your style is mesmerising to watch bro, fucking epic.👌🤟
I fucking love everything about this setup
God damn that kit mixed and tuned is amazing sounding. Well done.
Years ago (I believe Kevin Lane was drumming when I read this) someone said "Whitechapel has never had a bad drummer. The quote still rings true today.
Been Whitechapel fan since day one and will continue to be
So glad to see Alex getting in shape again, you can see how he does enjoy a lot more the playthrough :D
Unbelievable... Power play. Those cymbals took heart away...🤘🤘🔥
I love to see his focus and precision! He's very intentional.
How the hell does someone remember all those changes? Fricken amazing!! 🤘🤘
These grooves are ferocious and amazing. I love it all but the symbol work really stands out. Bravo, brother. To me the sounds like a metal drumming masterpiece
It's unbelievable how good that snare sounds
Wait--what?! YES! Rudi is the perfect fit for this band. So excited for their future with him!
Groovy fisted drumpart. On of the most epic song of this band and a brilliant playthrought. Such an inspiration !
100% my favorite drummer right now
Watching this you have a new appreciation for his sound. Great fit .
Such a great song.
Sooo freaking good! Top quality soundwise as well. Checking out the other videos right now.
So heavy, the power thrown into that ride cymbal throughout the song is so tasty
man that kit sounds glorious.
Every note compliments that song. Absolute animal.
Alex is a monster, love his precision and grove, just perfect 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'm really excited for the Bass Plathrough! \m/
AMAZING MIRACLE
god I love this drum set ❤
Holy moly. That was something!
I've honestly never heard this song before, but I am a drummer and this guy is KILLING IT !!!!!
the things he's doing are pretty damn difficult to do.
The cymble work is fantastic, the fills, the tom work.... All is great.
Nice job Brother, nice job 🤘🤘
This made me learn about Whitechappel and buy their album
Greetings from the Dutchlands
That’s one mighty fine looking arrangement there! 👀
U r
Amazing kit, amazing playthrough!
You are the king !!!
Outstanding!
Amazing talent.
Alex is a god! Man, what is it about the name it just makes you a drum god? You got Rüdi, Alex Bent from Trivium, Alex Lopez from Suicide Silence, etc.
YOU'RE RIGHT!!! My brother's name is Alex and he loves to drum.
Matts are pretty insane too, you got Halpern (Periphery), Garstka (Animals as Leaders), Grenier (August Burns Red)
Alex Pelletier from Despised Icon
@@TheTito995 true
@@EvilSpeculator Alex’s are great drummers and Phil’s are great singers/screamers. Bozeman, Anselmo from Pantera, and Labonte from All That Remains.
This album is going to be amazing.!
That was incredible! Very dark and heavy.
I love the fact you see him scream out "I bring the gift of resurrection" lmfao I do it everytime myself glad to see I'm not the only one lmfao
That right there, is so much heavier than constant blasting all the goddamn time. Thank you
Actually the best metal drummer in the game right now.
Oceans ate alaska... then come back to this comment
It is so boring who is the "best"... It's all a matter of preference. Some like this, some like that.
Music isn't a contest.
@@sinastar5932 Chris Turner is phenomenal, he just does not have the pedigree Rudinger does yet.
Beautiful
Amazing!
Never listened to any Whitechapel before but after watching this insanity I intend to listen to lots.
Imagine these guys going back in time? Like the 1960s. They go on after The Rolling Stones. “Please welcome, White Chapel!” 😆
BYW, Why would anyone thumbs down this? Oh right, jealousy is a powerful human emotion.
Where would they play? Bloodstock 69?
Absolutely sick!
Oh my fuck..talk about using the entire kit. That was epic mate 🤘🤘
Wow, well done, great style, amazing technique and astonishing drums
Crushing it
Incredible precision
perfection
Love Drum play though and ordered the New cd Kin and wait to hear the rest of it and see you guys on tour here in Detroit Michigan soon
Perfect!
I know this gets thrown around a lot, but Alex Rudinger is the best drummer in the scene currently, just go watch all his covers and compositions. He can create, read music, compose, cover. His time in Good Tiger and session work is just amazing.
There is no "best" in drumming. It's not a competition, nobody wins or loses and the only people that judge or rank drummers probably don't know any better.
@@the6ig6adwolfIt definitely is a competition, you win gigs and session work by being the best. If you want to make money it's a competition.
@@zerofender so because the dude got a job with a band 99% of people have never heard of then he must the best. Yeah makes alot of sense👍
@@the6ig6adwolf Buddy, this band was #10 on the Billboard music charts. They're one of the biggest bands in the genre. For me to say he's the best drummer in this genre and hired drummer scene I think is fair? Unsure where your issue comes from.
@@zerofender he's the best drummer in Whitechapel I'll give him that.
Brutal. I love it. 🤘🏻
AWESOME!!!
Congrats Rudi 🤟 this album was epic
He is a fantastic drummer
Fucking hell that was satisfying to watch, your technical skill and placement is incredible🔥🙏🔥
Been following u for a long time,u r machine,love what u do
Legend
Every beat per second is powerful
That was dope go whitechapel
Wow! Incredibly good
Incredible, loved everything about it, esp the cymbal work lol.
F-en Fantastic!!!!
I'll never forget seeing Whitechapel in a a festival and not knowing Alex was their drummer at the time. I was just sitting there like.. " Who is this guy? This is the best drummer at this whole damn festival. " I believe it was Carolina Rebellion, which was a massive hard rock and metal festival. As I watched and listened more I figured out it was him just by his playing, because I couldn't see more than a silhouette of him. When people can hear you and know it is you just from your style and sound.. that's an amazing thing. Especially for a drummer.
GREAT SONG!!!! PERFECT DRUMS!!!!
An absolute monster!!!
This song is great!!~ 🤘
GD that kit sounds phenomenal 🤘🏻👊🏻🤘🏻
Brutal!
What a beast 🤘
Maryland represented! Right on, Alex!
Holy snare drum. Props to the sound dude.
