Pile 2: This was heavy and I already knew he was still stuck on the hurt with his ex. He was with her for 4.5 years and would talk to me about it from time to time. He always seemed jumpy and full of anxiety while getting to know me. His heart is still with his ex even though she moved on to another relationship. I really tried my best to give him reassurance while getting to know me but he was acting out his trauma on to me so I had to walk away from him. It hurts but he needs to heal because he will never be able to give me 100% until he does so.

Very very hard time for me 😞 He hasn’t called or reached out to me since the break up which he did in a very cruel way. Pretty much the same story as you guys, it was for someone new he met on a work trip. We went on vacation after his monthlong work trip and I paid for the lodging. He waited until the third night of the five day trip to tell me about her. I was falling asleep in his arms the first two nights of the vacation, not knowing he was going to dump me. Btw the girl lives in Asia; we live in New England. The whole thing was shocking and brutally painful. All for some random girl thousands of miles away.
A year later, though I no longer pine for him, I still ache. It destroyed my confidence and willingness to trust.
Just telling you guys this to let you know, you are not alone.

We were together, he was younger, his family was against our relationship, although there was big love between us, he let himself be influenced and I ended the relationship and cut him out of my life to protect myself and my child, he married another woman in revenge to punish me and is now divorced. I picked pile 3 for a friend situation. I put on some boundaries as softly as I could and a friend we have known for decades with cut me off.
