  • 🚗🔧 Today, we're diving into the world of Kei vans with a coilover conversion. We spent $1200 on this upgrade, but was it worth it?
This is part 1 of 2
We did so much research to figure out spring rate and what coilovers to buy. We ended up going with BC Racing and bought them from SpringRates.com who would change the spring rate to fit Oni.

I can’t wait for my Subaru Sambar to arrive from Japan in August.

When I have to wait for things my mind always goes to 10 y/o Kurt waiting for x-mass and the fat man to bring me things. Logically it will be here soon, but my internal voice is screaming that is so farrrrrr away.

Coilovers probably work in some vehicles under some conditions. But in most applications they make about as much sense as those popular hot air intakes.

Coilovers are kinda expensive and most people will never really utilize the full capacity that a good coilover can give you. For a track car being able to adjust the dampener and camber is really nice and can shave seconds off your lap times.
In off-roading, coilovers can significantly reduce unsprung weight and provide the ability to achieve greater wheel travel, which would be impossible with a stock setup.
Hot air intakes are really stupid and that is why you should always fabricate an air box for your air filter to sit or just leave it alone.
