I’ve been making these for years , but no bbq sauce . I put balsamic vinegar, garlic , onion powder and salt then grill . Yummy

Ann, please make a video of how you grow your broccoli sprouts and any others you may grow. I keep trying to grow them but they always get mold or just wilt. I am in a remote location and sprouts are not available. Thank you, Cheers Sue

I like the idea of cutting the top of the mushroom like a tennis racket! It definitely needs red onion, tomsto and a pickle. Besides the barbecue sauce and some kind of sprouts

I like hummus, red wine vinegar & a dash of olive oil or hummus & sometimes Vegan Hellmanns Mayo.
Also, if you are out & about & need to eat, Jersey Mike's makes a great hot Portobello sub with green peppers & onions & you could add tomatoes & lettuce also. To make it vegan, just say no cheese. It's delicious!

Glad you’re doing the vegan thing. The Mayo probably has oil. Oil isn’t welcome at this family’s party
@JerryKayne I understand. I still use oil but in moderation. My cholesterol numbers have gone back to normal eating vegan & plant based food items. In my world, olive oil is still plant based because it's from olives.
This sounds great - I use balsamic glaze whenever I bake or grill my portobello. Love the hack and will be trying it next time, thanks.
Ezekiel makes a good burger bun. They aren’t easy to find, but my local Whole Foods generally has them. I buy 3 or 4 packages at a time and freeze them.

I love to add yuzo kosho vegan mayo! I make mayo from mori-nu silken tofu (added onion and garlic powder, apple cider vinegar, and 1/4 teaspoon of the green yuzu kosho..its salty so a little goes long way). Or if no kosho paste, then I mix some miso with vegan mayo. Really helps with the umami flavor. I also like fresh pineapple slices on mushroom BBQ burgers, or in a pinch tomato pineapple salsa.

Oh, wow! I just made this and it was so good. I’m going to make my portobello burgers like this from now on. I cooked mine in the air fryer (with parchment liner) at 400 degrees for about 8 minutes. It was still juicy but not as bad as when I have cooked on the stove or an electric press. (It was faster with less cleanup too.)
I love portobello “burgers,” but you are right… they are very messy when freshly cooked. I never used barbecue sauce or hummus. I’m going to make this tomorrow. Thanks!

I’ve also used sprouted grain tortillas in lieu of bread to wrap them up in. They are also delicious with basil or sundried tomato pesto or an arugula pesto and toasted bell peppers. 😋

I like mine with steak sauce rather than bbq sauce and we add a little horseradish rather than hummus to our buns.

I live in the south, no oven is being turned on until late fall. Although I love portobello burgers I just cook on stove top
Ann you really should write this down, as a lot of us don't have the experience you do. Such as the degree of oven to bake these, and the criss cross cuting tip. All great ideas, I must try with great bun. Jane do you gain weight on bread? is that why you don't use a bun?
The scoring of the mushroom top is called “crosshatch scoring” if you care to know. Sorry, it’s cuter the way you guys call it the tennis racquet

So you keep gills? Did you wipe or clean the mushroom 1st? If you clean- how or do you only wipe the mushroom clean?

Question I have about Portobellos. Do you remove the gills underneath? On smaller mushrooms, it doesn't bother me, but on the huge ones, the gills kind of gross me out. Are the gills even edible? Thanks!

Ladies, I'm a loyal follower. Please take on my feedback on your video thumbnails: the light green strip at the bottom with white text is to small and not contrasted enough to read properly. Some of the text gets covered by the runtime numbers in the bottom right corner. Look at what DoctorRamani of doing with her thumbnails because they are always very easy to read and eye catching. Big bold font to one side with her face on the other side. The selling point of your videos is not only your healthy and tasty WFPB food, recipes and tips, but also your likable personalities. At least for followers who know you already. Hope this helps you to grow the channel!!! ❤
Looks yummy,ladies!.Most BBQ sauce contains a large amount of high fructose corn syrup.Avoid this! Very indigestible and turns to fat.

I don’t think they are actually vegan, just very, very close. They have talked about Bone Lickin Sauce and their efforts to convince the manufacturer to fix the ingredients.

Bone Suckin BBQ sauce is not vegan. I'm curious as to why you consume a product that contains 1 animal ingredient and possibly 2 others?
they're plant-based, not vegan, so they can consume honey
@@poppyr4639 WFPB means.... that it doesn't come from an animal. They did mention in one of their videos that they asked the company about possibly no honey, so that means they're at least concerned about it... I think. I hope.
Please spend some money on some sharp knives and a sharpener.
