From a kid's point of view at the time we enjoyed it.
Damn, I've seen a lot of really cheap sci fi's but this one takes the cake! The only redeeming feature was the scenery and glaciers. They could easily have made it a documentary on Alaska; all they needed to do was cut about 40 seconds of flying horse pucky and change some lines.
This movie shouldhave been called"A Romantic Holiday in Alaska"
There must be about 55 seconds of actual sci-fi footage in this film and the saucer shows exhaust, so it must have dirty sparkplugs.🛸

It wasn't big enough to carry a man let alone a bomb. It was about the size of Uncle Martin's ship in My Favorite Martian, only Martin's was more believable and you got to see it for a lot more than 5 seconds at a time.

Followed by 70 minutes of me falling asleep.

This was what I would call a 'sci-fi travelogue documentary thriller'...lol...complete with travelogue music. What....at about 3:40, the man says that it appears that the flying saucer was designed for one purpose, to carry an atomic bomb. Now how the heck did he know that? Oh well, that's what fun with these low budget, early 50's sci-fi movies....we get to poke all kinds of holes in the plot.
But we still enjoy watching them, don't we...!! This would have been beautiful to see in color.
Yes apparently alien technology stalled at the atomic level.

WARNING: Alaska travelogue mixed in with a heavy dose of Cold War shtick and barely a sprinkle of sci-fi.
The name of Mike's nurse and government minder for the intelligence service is Ms. Vee Langley. As in Langley, Virginia.
This whole time and the flying saucer was just a jet with a round wing. It was a tease aircraft not a cool UFO craft

Just went past the 21 minute mark. I doubt I will finish watching it all. A lot of nice scenery, even in black and white, and a guy who doesn't do much except chain-smoke. The woman has a role, but it sure is weak.
I was gonna if the woman is good looking I'll watch anything but i see now she's blonde so I'm not going to watch it 🥱
Don't worry. SThe guy is also weak since he doesn't seem to comprehend that he is free to do whatever he wants, especially in his own family property and she has absolutely no power or authority over him at all

Interestingly he said the first ones who learn the secrets of flying saucers will rule the skies. LOL, by post WW2 the Germans already had a lot of knowledge about them, that's why Operation Paper Clip. By 1950 we were well under way back engineering them.

Dang, how many cigarettes did that guy smoke in this movie. I was getting winded just watching him. Every time he flicked them into the sea I wanted to jump through the screen and throw him in.

If you've seen other sci-fi or alien movies, don't bother with this. It's a travelog or a love story with literally seconds of unconvincing flying saucer and no aliens. What a misleading title
