      In Europe Cort is the brand that nobody recommends as first choice when you tell them what sort of guitar you want. But when you tell them your budget, they're like, well, you could get a used this or that, maybe if you can get a good deal on one, just maybe you can afford it. Or you could always get a Cort. It is considered as a solid brand that you can't really go wrong with, but it's nobody's dream guitar really. But to be honest, this x11 really is a good guitar. Not just OK.

    @sansubr Před rokem +1

    I got a Cort X-100 two years ago, and it is so user-friendly, I've been able to set it up the way I want, like lower the action by adjusting the bridge screws without too much of a hassle that comes with entry-level guitars from other brands. I had never heard of Cort before I started doing my research for a new guitar. The guitar feels and plays really well for a sub $200 guitar and platform is good for mods too! I may consider getting a strat from Cort in the future for the tone difference - The G300 is an underrated guitar for anyone looking for a classic strat-type guitar.. Btw, the demo track was such a banger!

    My first guitar was a Cort (2006) and I bought a Cort KX 500 FF in Marina Blueburst. Almost the same guitar but with 7 strings, emg 707s, fanned frets for around 700 €. The build quality lacks a bit but only if you inspect the instrument very close. I love it.

    In Europe Cort branded instruments are are much a thing. Most small independent shops carry these, and not necessarily the cheapest models.
    Your description of this guitar fits the brand’s overall reputation: good to very good for affordable models. And yes, fret work is often their weak spot.
    Funny thing is, most people would rather get a more established brand, but don’t realise that many such instruments are in fact subcontracted to others. Cort make the much hyped Solar guitars and unless I’m very mistaken the more affordable Jackson Dave Davidson WR7 signature model.

    How are these guitars compared to the HB Amarok? Heard some rumours that they come from the same factory? Planning to buy one of them. Would prefer this one since it comes with the Fishman pickups.

    Demo track was killer, wish I could get behind the Fishmans though. There's just something about them which yes I've played them multiple times in person, they just don't do it for me. But to each their own right?

    I think this is a lot of guitar for the money.
    Overall specs are similar to an Ibanez RG5121 Prestige. Ibanez is £1500-16000. This is £550-650 right now.
    Yes the Ibanez is Japanese made and yes it has Gotoh locking tuners. But, I've tried three now in different stores and all had uneven frets from the factory. All three guitars needed a proper fret level and crown or a PLEK.
    I expect uneven frets on a £500-1000 guitar. But Ibanez marketed the RG5121 Prestige as having had "Prestige fret treatment" which in reality just means they spent time rounding off the fret ends. But no time doing a proper level.
    Remove a set of Gotoh locking tuners and weigh them. They're a heavy set and personally I'd take Hipshot given a choice.
    So all things considered, I would still pay more for the Ibanez. The finish is nicer, the white binding and luminlay side dots look great, frets are stainless steel. But the Cort makes a strong case for consideration though.
