My mum used to look after horses on the stable she worked at. There was one lady who refused to put her horse out in the Field as she didn’t want it to get dirty and because of that the horse was very frustrated and could be aggressive towards people and was very hard to ride. When she went on holiday she asked my mum to look after it and my mum put it out in the field and very quickly it calmed down and most of it’s behaviour issues went and it became much easier to ride. When she came back she commented on how much the better the horse was but my mum never told her as she knew the lady wouldn’t let her take care of it anymore and then the horse would never go out. Apparently it became to much for her and she sold it in the end. Hopefully whoever got it gave it a better life than her.
I ve experienced that alot as a child. Overreactive horses are usually terribly unhappy and can be Dangerous. They need Friends and an area to Run and real freetime Not Just sitting in a Box Like a Pokemon. They also get way more sick because they are stressed and unhappy. If they are unhappy one little mistakes can make them explode.

Stallions usually have breeding approvals for a number of studbooks. Take German warmbloods for example: it's normal for a Hanoveranian to be allowed to breed Oldenburger, Holsteiner, Whestphalians... Trakehner are not allowed to breed "downstairs". They have the highest percentage of Thoroughbred in the breed and are used to refine other warmblooded breeds. If a Trakehner stallion breeds an Oldenburger mare, the offspring will always be Oldenburger. Same applies to English and Arabian Thoroughbred. They're purebred. I'm pretty sure they don't use Arabians to refine Warmblood breeds, just English Thoroughbred.
Same here. Such people don’t want to risk losing their expensive horse by letting it be a horse in a pasture but will gladly risk the horse’s life doing a sport. Let horses be horses, they don’t care how expensive or high-class they are. They all need stimulation and socialization. It hurts me seeing how normalized it is to leave horses stalled nearly all day with absolutely no proper turn out.
See here's the thing. Ariat aren't cheap but anything else is gonna cost you 2x as much in the long run if you go cheaper. I'd love full or semi customs but I'm nowhere near that yet
I have never had much money for horses so always would get green horses, train them up, and sell them hoping to buy a slightly nicer green bean for the next time round lol. On the side, I worked at the tack shop and at the polo field taking care of the ponies. I also was the working student at my barn for a bit. It always astounded me how privileged some of the people were. Some people never wanted to touch their horses, instead having me groom and tack them. Others had the most push button horses in the world and could just sit there and get carried around. Like I wasn’t a perfect rider but I worked twice as hard as many of the people I was surrounded by.
Honestly, unless it’s for safety like there’s dangerous weather or it’s a certain season for predators (but even then as long as the horses have a herd they’re usually fine but also depending on the predators) I think they shouldn’t really stay in a barn or stable at all. There’s literally no room for them to do what horses do and I can’t imagine how boring it would be locked in a room 23/7 except for the 1 hour someone rides me around. I would be a very dangerous, aggressive, pent up horse that’s for sure 😂
Veronica di Angelo was literally one of my favorite characters because of how hard I laughed at most things she does. I like the show but the books are always my go to for this one ❤. And your acting in this one surely reminds me of her 😂
We had one of these at my stable, she thought she's better than the Olympic riders. Hasn't eveb had a participation (shared) horse nor one of her own. But she wanted my participation horse, a cute Haflinger gelding. If been with that particular horse longer than she was riding at all. Often when I was grooming him or taking care of him she would be around bugging me, pampering him and making snarky comments about how I do everything wrong and that she was so much better and did everything right. Well as I said he was cute but he had a few ticks like places he didn't wanted be touched. One day I was brushing him and she stood beside me berating me for brushing wrong. Then said that I missed a spot, grabed a brushed and firmly groomed between his front legs, a part where he is very sensitive. I carefully clean that arear with a wet sponge. He pushed her hard with his head and fell on her back. Continued to stepp on her foot and bit her knee that was sticking up. I pull him away and called him down while she was whining and crying, calling my sweet boy a monster and that he should be slaughtered. That ticked me of, so I stepped on the same foot as him and told her not very nicely to shut up and what might happen when she says stuff like this again. After all I know the woods where my stable is located since I was 6 and she just got here. She didn't bother us ever again, eventually got her own horse and fucked up so royally that it got taken from her and given to the stable owner. Guess who gets to train her former horse since my sweet gelding got retired 😂

But she wasn't in the arena or roundpen but in the brushing-arear directly outside of the stable, with other horses around. Also she left the gate to the street wide open. Her horse and one that broke loose ran on the road and almost got hit. Took us almost 3 hourse took catch the two and she stopped helping after an hour cause hEr FeTe HuRt. I discovered that her fromer horse is really good with ground work and I train her to be a show horse. She walks up to burning torches when I'm with her 😁
The horses at Ft. Myer in Virginia were kept indoors if they weren’t being used and some of them even died. So they were moved to new stables where they could roam around and be horses. So unless you want your horse to die a miserable death in their stall, turn them loose if you’re not using them
I read an article featuring a top American Reining trainer, Paul Avila, he posed the question, how many people would still own horses, if they had to haul water, do all their own stable cleaning, pay for everything without being rich. There are many who love all aspects of owning & enjoying their horse(s). Others wouldnt want to put up hay in the grueling summer heat. I had a friend tell me if she had to buy hay she probably wouldnt bother having horses. Our horses are all getting old now, we have to haul water out to them, all seasons, bale our hay & stack it in the shed. Make repairs and fix fence. But we enjoy our horses even though we dont ride much. They arent status symbols for us, their family

A horse is a horse, kinda like dogs and people. They all have their own individual personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. A Belgium draft is used as a work horse, meanwhile a Mustang is built for speed. Doesn't mean either horse is bad it just depends on what you need at that point in time.

Beautiful red roan with 4 white socks and a blaze. We fell in love and he would do anything for me and me for him!! I hope to see him in heaven.

I used to board at a dressage show barn and oh my god were they HORRIFIED that I would put my horse out in an actual pasture and let her run around like an actual horse. Meanwhile, all of their super fancy hella expensive horses, that they kept in a fucking dog run, would try to kill then every day while my horse was just chillin 😂

Good acting. I definitely wanted to smack that character. I don't understand people who get animals and expect them to behave like objects. They are animals. They have needs to be met in order to have a mentally and physically satisfying life, and that isn't going to jive with one's concept of objectifying a creature. If you can't handle dirt, noise, and exercise, get a stuffed animal; you'll be doing yourself and whatever poor creature you would have made miserable a favor.
