They can re write the rules on the new chain but I doubt ppl would move to that new chain. Likely would end up being a new Bitcoin Cash equivalent. Miners would abort and stay on existing one.

You seriously think those miner care about that? Put in simple, miners mine Bitcoin for profit, if BlackRock can influence the pricing of existing chain of BTC and the new chain as well, it’s easy to see what is the ending…
Let’s all be honest, 90% of people who get into crypto is purely for profit.

Companies like BlackRock always get what they want. They'll for sure influence the price of the original bitcoin just so that miners move over to a hard fork

Don't scare people. If they choose a less valued Bitcoin fork, they will be sued left and right. The fork with bad rules will definitely have lesser value.

They can say which fork is backing etfs. But doesnt mean anyone else has to get on board. So would be quite the adventure to see how that plays out in the long run. It could only control that fork. The other miners could go to the other fork and it would remain decentralized and blackrock would just bankrupt itself

What’s their influence then on prices? I don’t like the idea that blackrock maybe have bad influence on crypto market. Sorry for maybe bad English I am German.
