Carbon Own the City for the PSP is an absolutely outstanding game with a huge open world.

      How's compared to PC version?

    • @YOEL_44
      @YOEL_44 Před 5 měsíci

@wedasantika6079 If you already have a PC the best thing you can do is try it, get PPSSPP and in no time you'll be enjoying this masterpiece.
But to try and answer you actual question, there are many limitations:
      - No Speedbreaker, no pursuit breakers.
      - Customization is just bodykits, carbon hood, spoilers, wheels, side decals, crew tags, car and wheel colors and glass tint.
      - Performance doesn't have specific settings, you can just install a better or a worse part of each kind.
      - There are no challenges, canyons or drift events, and there is no posibility of unlocking special vehicles like the firetruck or hidden pre-customized cars.
      - The city is just a tweaked Rockport with simplified assets.
But there are also some specific goodies:
      - 100 hidden object for you to collect in the open world.
      - A bunch of team members (maybe around 20) with all the kinds of cars and powerups you might need, and you can have 2 enabled at the same time.
      - New kinds of events and a revamped police chase system, I specially like the fact that you can see the health of their vehicles, allowing you to plan ahead while escaping or hunting other cars.
      - A new story with new characters that do not appear in any other NFS, but still happens all in the same universe.
I'm sure there are more differences, but I think this is enough to figure out how if you might like it or not.

@@YOEL_44 I remember I randomly stumbled across a PSP in a cupboard draw in my house in 2012 and under it was NFS Carbon otc.
It must've been one of my dad's younger brother's PSPs because I was born in 2004 and was a damn toddler when the PSP was popular.
Anyway shortly after playing it a bit the bloody machine broke and stopped working out of nowhere. So my dad decided to replace it by buying me a PS Vita instead with NFS Most Wanted. I played the psp version before the console version, beaten both of them more times than I can remember and I agree with all the points here, yes they reused assets from MC2 but the Tokyo map being on the psp version makes it so much better for me , yes it feels less polished than the console version but it was never meant to be a direct port of the main game, the hardware simply wouldn’t run it 😂🤦🏻‍♂️
You can even argue they’re both different games and you wouldn’t be wrong but i feel it’s more fun on the psp version , it’s not at all perfect, niether is the console version, they both have issues but for what we got, it’s a damn good game that still holds up, and we all wish we got rockstar to make another midnight club :)

I still have my PSP 3004 with Gran Turismo and NFS Carbon Own the city... I played NFS a ton as a child and even more but GT as a teenager, and even now I love to hop on it. For a PSP game, GT offered a ton of tuning options, you can enable advanced physcis, It's so fun to play around with especially when you have such a big variety of race cars: LMP, F1, DTM, JGTC, Drift cars, exclusives. I genuinely can't find a game as realistic and high quality for the hardwareas it but for PC, I'm thinking about getting GT7 (idk if my PS4 slim will handle it)

I recently got my PSP up and running again and it's been a blast! Just got done with a playthrough of NFSU Rivals. I was very surprised at home much content there was for a 2004 portable game. I just started a playthrough of Street Supremacy and it's been an adjustment for me as I've never played through a TXR game before this one, but I'm looking forward to it!
Being from the US and growing up with PSP, my favorite was probably NASCAR. Pretty much a full port of NASCAR 07 that i spent many, many hours on.
I would love to see more videos like this one on different consoles. I haven't tried many racing games on PS Vita but I know the Switch racing library features some good ones and is expanding all the time!

Man, you really need to try Burnout Dominator. Yes it doesn't have a Crash mode but once you get the hang of Boost Chaining it gets ADDICTING.
Edit: Theo you also missed THE FULL CONSOLE VERSION OF SPLIT/SECOND

I felt like most of the NFS games on PSP were recycling too much assets - like most wanted, carbon and undercover had different modes (and also open world in Carbon) but the physics and sound effects made it feel too similar during actual gameplay. The one completely different was Shift - i loved the way cars could drift on the corners, the terrifying nitrous that could lead you to disaster making your car unstable, the weather effects. It lacked customization (there were some bodykits, but you needed to grind a lot with one car to unlock it) and there was no open world, but races alone made me love this game (it could be, that my vision is blurred by the fact, that it was my first PSP game, but my point still stands). Also it was completely different from the PC version.

A new PSP was required… some great memories from the PSP

Man... LA RUSH, it might not be one of the best racing games out there but damn was it still fun to play through. Especially fun is that one cheat that gives the traffic cars super speed and you can make some crazy crashes with it. TDU and GT PSP to me were the most technically impressive, TDU had the whole map, sure its downgraded in graphics a bit and the fps is a bit jank but having an open world racing game with a huge map on the go is just so good. GT psp was definitely the best looking and in itself, its a proper GT game in terms of quality and physics, minus a traditional GT mode but i cant help but be impress something like that can be put on a portable console.

You missed a good one. The Fast and the Furious Tokyo drift. Had the deepest car list only second to gran turismo. You could do races on the wangan (Tokyo expressway) as well run touge drift battle against all the people in the movie as well as plenty of made up racers for the game. Even Brian and Dom are in the game. I enjoyed that game more than NFS Carbon because of the amount of cars and real life customization parts you could put on each car. You should really look in to playing it or viewing it. There’s plenty of features I didn’t even mention and this game came out right when Carbon did.
