I love the sound this thing makes on start up.
there is a range on the radio of about 3 km(1.8 mi) so thats also how high it can go, while still in control :-)

for the record, I do appreciate and really love the choppers you put up. I agree with daroffapfire to use ear protection but this is one enjoyable hobby of mine. funny to see amish (or whatever) buggies in the background with what sounds like a jet powered chopper. thanks so much for the video. how much will I have to go in debt for to get one like that. I want to spy on my neighbors, haha. no kidding this is almost like the big choppers. I really enjoyed it.
I lost to watch both kinds of choppers the gas and the battery. I am glad others like them too because they are funny as heck trimming the trees, crashing etc. I have no idea how to run one but like you I am sitting on a hot wallet. I just wish more people around our area had some so I could learn.

Martin, excellent amount of detail on your model and the finish appears to be perfect. Maybe on another clip, some voice over may help explain what you are doing - preparing to ignite the engine and so on. The camera work was poor. Standing with his back to the sun is a first rule. That will help show the machine in the best light. If the camera man is unskilled, a wider shot will help the smoothness. The video quality was excellent. Good luck to you and your friends.

Lovely model! I wonder how much time you put into it. Looks like you had it 'dialed in' right from the bench. Looks very stable, so you must have a gyro in the mix? I've always wanted an RC Copter, but $$$ is always short, and I don't know if I'm co-ordinated enough. Love RC Sailboats and cars though. Peace.

I see it has a free-wheeling turbine just like my old buddy UH-1H Huey vintage 1969. I used to mess with the pilots sometimes when they started the engine and hold the blades back with the tie-down straps. They repaid me by dropping pitch when I would doze off.

Blows me away this has 31m views. Nice chopper, nice field, tail in hover only? Was hoping for a lil more. Looking good though, know these lil ladies aren't cheap. I fly jet turbines and heli's out the wazoo. Fun, not easy, keep it up :-)

Attach a small radio-controlled gun to it and POOF. you have a drone. :D
The real skill of helo flying is the hover, and maneuvering accurately at slow speed, and it takes some time to develop those skills -- especially when your butt is not actually in the seat. I would venture to say that flying an rc copter is more challenging than flying a real one for that reason. More fun too!
