    Celebrity for me. I love the modern aesthetic and I like the food better than on Princess. Also, Celebrity ships to feel like there's more space per passenger to me as well, less crowded.

    I love Princess for all the reasons you said, and more. As an elite level passenger, I get my laundry done for free, free mini bars, discounts in all boutiques, priority boarding, no-wait tendering, free wine tastings and more. The crew are outstanding, the food scrumptuous and I never want to leave, even after cruises of over 100 days. It is my heaven on earth. Love your videos and would love to meet up with you onboard one day xx

    Celebrity is our choice, and with Celebrity giving you the option to pick their Classic Beverage package as one of the perks, you can save a lot of money over buying your drinks individually. Service in all areas is superb, and the food in the Main Dining Room is served to look and tasting great!

    We love Princess! Started sailing with them in our early/mid 30’s now in our early/mid 40’s after sailing mostly with Carnival and NCL. Our favorite ships so far are Pacific Princess and Regal Princess. Booked on Discovery Princess inaugural out of FLL in Dec 2021 and doing a back to back. Cannot wait! Also booked again on the Caribbean Princess for May 2022. Excellent food, drinks and great entertainment. Superb service, nice cabins and love the self serve laundry. Sailed Celebrity once and it was nice but we were so bored most of the time. Had an Aqua Class cabin on the Summit and ate most meals in Blue. It was not that good and had an odd layout. Tables for 2 were on top of each other and it felt awkward. Service was excellent. Drinks weren’t that great. Had Captain Kate and she was the bright spot besides the destination, Bermuda. You are right, Princess just feels like home. Happy Cruising! ❤️

      The laundromat is a Godsend on the longer cruises and if you are not a drinker you can probably go the entire cruise without spending a penny on board. I think the main dining is delicious and prefer it over the speciality restaurants

    I like Celebrity for the look and feel, Im in my early 30s and I heard from the captain and agree, that this line is a generational line, meaning its target towards the late 20s-40s clientele who travels with their parents and kids. Princess feels way to traditional to me more like a high-end conservative hotel while Celebrity feels like the W.

      It's an overall fear of being let down. You're on vacation, and you don't want to immediately realize you made a mistake as soon as you board a ship with a line you've never sailed on. I honestly had problem boarding the Carnival Pride as my second cruise, where my first cruise was on Royal Princess. My next cruise was on Regal Princess, a sister/class ship of Royal and immediately felt back at home. The room on the Pride was 'bigger', but the layout was inefficient and made me want to spend no time in the room (Inner cabin direct comparisons), whereas Princess may have had a smaller living space, it had better closet space with the standard layout, and still more in a 90 degree rotated layout. That said, I'm booked for the end of the month on Carnival Panorama and am looking forward to seeing what it has to offer, if it can redeem the Carnival line for me. I'm also booked on my first Royal Caribbean cruise at the end of August.
      I have the benefit of knowing people who've cruised A LOT on many different lines, and can take their opinions knowing we have similar values in what we want from a cruise. You can tell a lot about a line based on how they maintain their fleet, and Princess maintains even their older ships very well. The Celebrity ships I've seen have been older and looked worn out, like they don't care to do any upkeep between dry docks.

    • @Dangic23
      @Dangic23 Před 4 lety +1

      @@717dash_cam
      I can see that possible fear of being let down...but that can happen on your favorite line also.
      I have not done Carnival since 2003, but I am looking forward to cruising on the Mardi Gras eventually.
      Have cruised on Costa, RCL, Disney, and always a great experience.
      Going on Princess for the 1st time in May to Alaska, Ruby.
      My expectations are low, but the only other ship that could go inside Glacier Bay was Holland American ...so I picked Princess.

    • @717dash_cam
      @717dash_cam Před 4 lety +3

      @@Dangic23 I've enjoyed Princess, and prefer to have minimal children around on my vacations; So I tend to like the brands that cater less to kids, but still have things to do. That and I typically go when school is in.
      If Ruby has been upgraded to a 'Medallion Class' ship; Hopefully they've gotten some bugs worked out of it. While reliable the bars, check-in etc... detection at the room for unlock was a bit iffy for me. There are still cards available as needed. The numerous apps needed for the Medallion experience was a bit frustrating to me as well, but as a techie I understand the teething pains that come with implementing new things. Just make sure you complete the check in process on the Medallion app ASAP and get your medallion ordered more than 30 days before the cruise.
      Buffet food has been ok, but main dining has been a highlight on both of my Princess Experiences.
      I'm open to trying new cruise lines, but have only been on 3 so far with 4 and 5 booked for this year. Explorer of the seas at the end of August for Greece, which will have just had a major renovation.
      I'd love to do Holland America, it's a friends favorite line other than Princess. I'd also like to do Alaska, but that's one I'm gonna save for because I feel like a Balcony would actually be most worth it for Alaskas beauty.

    I love Princess, I've never sailed Celebrity, but may do so in the future. I love Princess for all the reasons mentioned in the video, but have one to add. When on an Alaskan cruise aboard the Coral with my sister (career Navy), she pointed out to me that every Princess ship was being maintained at every port, while the others only had hit and miss maintenance. She said Princess looked to be the safest, with the most professional crew (meaning those who run the ship).

    These two cruise lines are the ones I've cruised on the most. Five cruises on Princess and four on Celebrity. I would say that I've probably had more fun on Princess. The entertainment on both cruise lines are equal, but slightly different in my opinion. I would give the edge to Celebrity mainly because their quality of food and service seems to be much better, especially in the main dining room. The dining rooms on the Solstice class ships are amazing. I don't like the small dining rooms on Princess.

    I have traveled both a lot but to me the cabins are far better on celebrity, the food is also better and the package deals are much better with celebrity. Princess has gotten a lot more expensive the past year making celebrity a much better deal. We also like the entertainment better on celebrity. We have noticed the past year that things are not as good and you can see that carnival has affected Princess in making value worse. We have done anout15 cruises on each. Celebrity is more upscale. Since dec we have done 2 celebrity cruise and are doing another 2 this month and April. Have not booked any Princess because the deals have been much better on celebrity. Was so disappointed on Princess last year when we booked the penthouse suite.

  • @glendalaforce9454
    @glendalaforce9454 Před 2 lety +1

    My first 2 cruise experiences were on Carnival. I don't remember which ships; I don't think either were very memorable. I was disappointed in the food. I guess my expectations were too high. Otherwise, I enjoyed both cruises. I sailed on the Regal Princess in an inside cabin. The layout of the cabin was great. Storage is usually very limited in most cabins. We didn't have enough stuff to fill up the storage area! The ship was beautiful, but the food was very medicore and the entertainment was horrible. I would have to get a really good deal to choose Princess again. I sailed on Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Sea to Cuba. It was a great voyage except for the sewer gas in several places on the ship. The food was good but not as good as their sister line Celebrity. I would definitely choose Royal Caribbean again but would go with a newer ship. Celebrity is by far my favorite cruise line. I've sailed on the Summit, the Soltice and the Equinox either in oceanview or balcony cabins. Very luxurious ships. The food is wonderful and the staff are above and beyond. The entertainment is always very entertaining! Storage is very stingy though. Carnival and Prinesss were ahead in that area. I have upcoming cruises booked on MSC, NCL and the Celebrity Edge. I am a 65+ single woman. Does my demographics affect my choices. Probably

Princess dress up poor quality food like rolled roast where celebrity would use large sides of beef. Princess are very poor at organising things like tendering. Celebrity definitely...love the aesthetic and the food. But also love the progressiveness of their marketing for lgbtq patrons and the fact that they have one of the few females captains helming a ship.

    I have not been on Celebrity. Princess are my line for those special cruises. Example will be on them next year for one of my bucket list cruises, The Baltics. However as a solo cruiser I mainly cruise P&O due to the price. P&O tend to be slightly cheaper for couples but are a 4 star as opposed to Celebrity & Princess being 5*. There are noticeable nuances with Princess over P&O. But as a solo traveller they charge a 60% supplement for the solo traveller and Princess a whole 100%. P&O tend to be a little cheaper onboard too with no gratuities and and cheaper drinks.I have calculated that for a solo traveller Princess are about £500 per week more expensive. A price I don't mind paying for a 'special' cruise. But for an annual holiday cruise I will be very happy with P&O. Hope this perspective helps other solo cruisers :)

      I’ve never read this on P&O’s website (probably unsurprising) but I’ve heard this “4-star” terminology used a lot with P&O. Tbh I think (especially the Britannia) a P&O Cruise does feel as premium as a Princess, even though they have very different designs. Also the fact that Princess and P&O ships are mostly all sisters of each other tells me they probably are pitched at a similar level. If the likes of Princess, HAL and Celebrity etc are pitched at 5-star, and you’ve got Seabourne, Silversea and Regent Seven Seas at 6-star, where does this put Azamara, Oceania and Viking who are aimed at somewhere between those two ‘tiers’ of you like, 5.5-star?!🤣 this is why I find it hard to compare cruise lines.

      @hobsonp67 Před 4 lety

      Reece Collison I have actually heard P&O refer to themselves as 4 star cruising. Whilst the ships are similar etc I think the main difference is food. You so often hear people say how it isn’t as good as it used to be, but my first meal onboard Aurora last October was Cannon of Lamb. I dare challenge anyone to say that they eat that at home every week haha. Like I say it’s nuances. I often ask is the extra price worth it, but it’s nice to do a different line without it being too different and I do like the more international feel of Princess. But you can’t beat a nice bit of back bacon & black pud for breakfast on P&O ;-)

    I've done 4 cruises on Princess, 2 on NCL, and one on HAL and Princess never disappoints. The new Edge Class Celebrity ships are tempting with their innovative cabins and dining, but the price premium is off-putting.

    One of the "selling points" I always look for when thinking about a cruise, how LGBT friendly are the ships, the staff, and especially the ports of call (no Jamaica ports for us)!

      Celebrity hosted an LGBTQ meet and greet when I was on Equinox and they host pride cruises every year in June on ALL ships, they are also the winner of Best Gay-friendly cruise line 2016-19 and offer same-sex marriages on all ships and were the first cruise line ever to do so. Incredibly gay-friendly line and staff.

    I'm Elite staus on Princess, so obviously they get my vote with my wallet. That said, I do want to try Celebrity, as I'm sure I'd enjoy cruising with them as well. It's just that being on the U.S. West coast, Princess has a much stronger presence here, so there are more cruises to choose from.

    At best this a non-vote either way from me... and of course, these are just my opinions.
    We (my much better half and I) have been on several Princess cruises and a few less Celebrity cruises. We like both. (We've also been aboard Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Cunard). We just got off a Celebrity ship two weeks ago, but our next cruise is Princess.
    Formal nights on Princess are definitely more formal than Celebrity's formal nights.
    Princess has better entertainment, particularly in the small venue "piano bar" size venues.
    Food/drinks/service/cabins are a toss-up between the two... it depends on the ship, your tastes and how much you want to spend.
    Cost... Princess does seem to come in a little less than Celebrity when comparing as closely as possible.
    For us... it is all about the itinerary. We look for the experience and if we can get a good deal... great! There are always deals/sales to be had.

    I find Celebrity overrated - which they might owe to way better marketing.
    Edge Class is overpriced beyond any limits.
    So, 2020 will be my first time on Princess, I booked the Sky.
