    Great tips video! I think people that are new to the hobby should do research and watch videos like this before they go flat out with their rc. Like you said it’ll save you lots of trouble and $$ for sure. Thanks for sharing.

    new Sub! very helpful video. we all want to bash the instant it arrives but at least some of the things you mentioned could definitely be accomplished immediately... like tightening the screws and adjusting droop. maybe it was mentioned by other comments but one thing to add would be to vent the tires and tape the holes in the inside wheel. saves tires for the long run.

      Cheers man, yes on a separate video I showed strapping the tyres as well. This is the ultimate way of ensuring they don't split, also I'm proved the handling at speed as well. I have vented them too. Cheers for the sub 😁😁👍👍

    Use drywall tape n shoe goo to strengthen the body, works great. Great vid. I needed all of this info. Subbed.

      @@bournemouthrc4371 just a quick one, wanted to break it in on 4s can you recommend a good, cheapish 4s lipo or 2x 2s? The kraton and my 2x 3s batteries kind of blew my budget lol am based in London uk...

    instead of duct tape use mesh drywall tape and shoe goo just got mine and love it!

    Very helpful video I’ll definitely have ago at the drop screws when my car arrives later today but I don’t think I’ll be able to do the whole Shim thing haha

      Yes droop screws are a good little adjustment to save you breaking them, the shimming is also good to do but takes a little more work. Not as hard to do as it looks though, it is very easy

      Bournemouth RC do you have a video on how to change the pinion? There’s others on CZcams but I do like following yours. I’m happy with how it is for now but no doubt I’ll want to change it out at some point. Also if I do change it will everything be ok on the car if I constantly run it? Cheers Sam

    Shoe goo and drywall tape works better for the body, triple layer around corners and all edges

      @@wolfreon yea I have fully upgraded mine over the time. You don't need to straight away just upgrade things as they brake. Most important is to just check the diffs and re shim them into the housing after you have run a few packs through it

    I had 2 shims on the left side of the outdrive. It’s weird because I’ve seen multiple videos of others only having one shim. Both front and rear had 2 shims. I tried to add a 3rd but it was too tight

      Yes it all depends in the free play in your gearbox case, a couple of mine needed 3 it total but the rest since have only needed 2 in total. Just all depends on how much free play is in the housing

      Got my Kraton and all the screws were so tight they squeaked when I tried turning them but best to check everything after each bash ;)
      I also put silicone ear plugs in my center diff, so responsive!

      @@jakejager nice man, mine was pretty good, I just had a few loose, particularly the front upper hinge pin bolts, but as you say always check first

      Great advice, but i want to add a few more, use gorilla tape, it’s a lot better over time vs ducktape. Also get yourself some aluminum 7075 front and rear chassis braces, swap out reciever and radio to avoid issues and lagg. It’s a few cheap one with remote and controller for around 50-70 dollars.

      @@Moggmodels23 it depends on how tight yours are on mine my center need 2 extra shims on the planet gear and both rears needed 4 extra inside the diffs and 2 extra on the outside

      When it arrives tomorrow what have I got to look out for on my diffs to know if there loose or not because I'm new to rc sorry buddy just need some advice on it all because I don't like stripping my diffs out if I haven't got to.

      I have 3 brands I'm really happy with the zop power from banggood but shipping to uk is a nightmare at the moment. The turnigy heavy duty and rhino batteries from hobbyking have also been really good. Those 3 are the best i have used for sensible prices

      Thanks for the recommendation man, just another question: does the kraton 6s come with the battery low voltage cutoff already set up or do I need to set it up myself?

      @@marvinmikha202 outcomes as standard on the esc and will cut out at LVC so not to damage the batteries 👍

    Took Mann out for a run the other day it wasn’t terribly hot probably upper 70s outside running it mostly on asphalt but not doing speed runs back-and-forth just driving sliding around goofing off the thing was going into thermal shut down a lot and the motor and the ESC got really hot is this normal for one of these should I look at upgrading or is this something I should see about having warranty I ordered a cooling fan for the motor but the ESC fan was howling away and still it was overheating running to 3S 5200 million Batteries at the time

      That does sound odd to be getting hot that quickly, were you in a small confined space like a garden or out in the open. Mine gets hot quick in the garden, lots of stop starts. If it's going to thermal cut out on wide open spaces and you have done nothing to it contact them and see what they say

      Bournemouth RC I was actually in a big open parking lot but I was doing a lot of it’s hard acceleration and then pretty hard braking sliding the back and around and stuff like that sort of some light drifting so definitely a lot of acceleration and breaking I guess that could’ve had something to do with it but I was in a pretty open area

      @@LargeeeScaleLife did it go into shutdown from the overheating cut off? you will find these rigs do get hot if you constantly on gas and brakes for a long period of time.

      Bournemouth RC That was probably the cars because I was doing hard accelerations then getting really hard on the brakes getting the back in to break loose and getting back into the throttle pretty hard was it doing speed runs but was definitely running it pretty hard put my hand underneath it and the whole underside of the chassis was really hot ordered some cooling fans for the motor hopefully that will help

      @@LargeeeScaleLife yea some cooling fans will help for that, keep the motor a little cooler. Plus just take breathes every now and then let the fans cool it for a min then carry on

    Sorry to be a pain but you seem to have cut yourself off at around 7:44 when you were about to make a point about the centre diff oil. I'm putting together a shopping list for diff oils and shims going off your videos and 500k oil seems more difficult to get hold of than the 300k and as I've never removed or stripped a diff before I want to try and get the shopping list right before taking all this apart.

      300k will still work well, I run 500k but anywhere between 300k - 500k for the normal motor will be good 😁😁👍👍

    Dropskrew adjust griplevel of car. You now have drop like a touringcar. Its ok if you drive on smooth surface. Your car will land much harder when you remove downtravel.

      6s power is fine for these, if you shim the diffs properly there perfect. I run 8s on mine

    Personally I think the kraton is a really cool rc but there are so many upgrades needed to make it decent and I find the xmax is much better stock and its my dream rc so I'm saving to get a second hand xmax and maybe when I am older I might get a kraton as it's going to take ages for me to afford parts for upgrades

      Yea to do some heavy bashing you will need upgrades, but the cost difference between the 2 well and truly make up for needing to buy a few parts
