    Great idea, but how do they stay on? They’d move all over the place or even worse fall out.

      You'll need to create flaps with a button to secure it in place

      If you are wearing close fitting underwear they should stay put.

    These are great, thanks for the tutorial. What is the purpose of the flannelette? And it is the same as flannel?

    • @jenniferfletcher5425
      @jenniferfletcher5425 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Flannel typically comes from wool or a blend of wool and cotton. Flannelette is made of cotton using gentle brushing techniques to produce a soft, plush feel which is unique to this fabric. Nowadays, these terms are often used interchangeably when referring to cosy, luxurious winter fabric textures.

    How do you keep your liners from moving around in your panties? I love the idea; just worried it will end up elsewhere!

      Good thought! I'm all for not creating more waste, but there is no odor control in these.

      Copy a pad with 'wings' you may have for a guide. Tuck around your undies. Use a safty pin to secure in the front.

      @HelloSewing  Před rokem +5

      For odor control -just create a bunch and change them frequently. Then just toss them in the washer

      You can add wings with a cam snap or velcro

      @@HelloSewing Not very convenient at work. And the fabric has chemicals from the dyes used in printing. I think I will stick with ready made.

    This is so good but, I do not know if this is an old wives tale, let me throw the question out there to all of you. I was always told that the material of your panty, or underwear, should be a white cotton material. That’s the part that lays facing against your private part, for a female. Have anyone heard of this or is this true? I would love to get an answer about this. I have grown up my whole life believing this. My mother was the one that told me this. I am thinking that my mother was right. Someone that in the medical field could probably get the truest answer. Thank You. 🥰

      Not a medical professional but I believe cotton is the best since it's very breathable and can absorb large amounts of moisture. It helps keep the area cooler and dryer instead of warm and moist, which helps prevent bacterial growth and odor. Hope this helps! 😊

      Great idea! I have been using the white cotton face masks but never thought of actually shaping them as you did. Will do . My concern is the dyes in the pretty fabrics. Personally, I prefer white, just plain. But those are pretty, nice!!

    Using these fabrics, how does it keep from leaking thru without any plastic type substance? Thinking about being away from home & not able to get to a bathroom.

      These are not meant for heavy leaking. Just everyday panty liners. You can, however add a pull layer to the insert if you need to

      For a variety of reasons, Ala. Many people want to ditch single use products and plastics of their life and keep them out of the landfill. Some women use them as a backup of their menstrual cup. Others get inflammations from the single use pads..Some generous women sew pads to gift to poor women in Africa for example who cant even dream of having access to single use products ... so for each their own
